love your take especially as someone who started and got hooked by remake and fell down the same rabbit hole. Definitely wasn’t ready for the quality and consistency of your content. Keep it up!
I had the same play order. I can't say enough how amazing remake and rebirth hooked me to want to play the og. I am now going to play through remake and rebirth to see what I might have missed. I already have seen so many differences in remakes intro
*_9:48_*
*_Final Fantasy VII: Return_*
Final Fantasy 7 is the best game ever made and Remake/Rebirth does many people want to play it even after playing the Remakes, that really special! ❤️
You should also play FF7: Crisis Core to get some backstory to Zack and events in Nibelheim..
Would you recommend Crisis Core before watching Advent Children?
@@TotallyJackEarlbecause they’re both at opposite ends of the FF7 sandwich, they don’t actually influence each other. There’s some nods to Crisis Core in the Directors Cut of Advent Children, so maybe it might be good to play Crisis Core first, but ultimately it’s up to you b
@@TotallyJackEarl Also Just so you know there are many other parts of the compilation too. Crisis Core has been on the top of the list. Also know that Crisis Core had about half of its content cut due to the price of UMDs for the PSP which it was originally released for. What that content was, is anyone's guess.
*Before Crisis* you can only watch on RUclips (or play a RPG maker version that is available for free) which only came out in Japan, it focuses on the Turks and Avalanche but all the characters make appearances. Before Crisis has only gotten a couple of nods with expanded Avalanche HQ and all, while Cissnei is in Crisis Core, she is also known as SHuriken in Before Crisis. She is one of 11 playable Turks in Before Crisis. This part of the compilation has yet to truly be addressed which it will in Ever Crisis eventually.
Also before Advent Children, you can listen to the "On The Way to A Smile" Series on RUclips here on the Lifestream's channel which focuses on several characters after the events of the OG. Also Lifestream's channel gives you a first chapter of "The Kids Are Alright" which is a story about Evan who turns out to be Rufus's half brother who during that same time period is trying to survive and find his mother.
Then there is also the other novel of "Traces of Two Pasts" which focuses on Aerith's and Tifa's backstory in bigger detail. Recently there is also a story "2000 Gil to Become a Hero* ( I think it's called that) it's a short story about a 14 year old Cloud going to join Shinra.
Next is Dirge of Cerebus, which focuses on Vincent Valentine, Yuffie, and Reeves/Cait Sith and the rise of Deepground which takes place 1 year after Advent Children. There is also a Multiplayer Dirge of Cerebus which is a completely different story which is about being a nameless deepground member and you meet 3 less known Tsviets named Pummel, Usher, and Argento the Silver which only came out in Japan. Also Dirge of Cerebus has a Lost Episode which was posted on here.
Now that I think I have addressed most of the compilation, Enter Ever Crisis.
The newest part of the compilation is First Soldier which focuses on Sephiroth's origin, and the P0 Soldier Units. Three in particular, Glenn, Matt, and Lucia. It is rumored that Glenn may actually be Cloud's father. There are 8 chapters of it available which focuses on their mission to an island location called Rhadore.
The next Episode in First Soldier drops October 16th this year which is this coming Wednesday as of this post which will focus on Young Sephiroth meeting Young Angeal and their relationship; and how Sephiroth acquired the Masamune.
Imho Crisis Core not only adds nothing of value to the story of VII, it retcons one of the most important moments in the story. The whole thing is super cringe, the writing is awful, the story is awful and the voice acting is awful. In my humble opinion. Really hope Genesis never makes an appearance in any way shape or form, anywhere. Such a bad character.
@@TotallyJackEarl sure, you can play the game before AC, also there is short anime story called The Last Order: FF7.. it's worth a watch, only 25mins long. Another thing about playing CC, i would just recommend getting through the main story cos side stuff is just tedious imo. Have fun though whatever you decide to do :D
Played the original for Playstation when it came out in '97. The emotional impact of this game can't be overstated. I don't think I'll ever be able to forget Aerith's theme song. I'd recommend Chrono Trigger for another JRPG to get heavily invested in.
I love your video, because I always wanted to know what the remake games are like to someone without knowledge of the original game. This topic is super interesting to me, and would love to know more. I am that FF7 fan. The one whose favorite game of all time is the original FF7 and the remakes are a dream come true. I would talk to you about this series until the cows come home. I’ll subscribe in the hopes you make more of these.
I think an obvious and fitting title for the third game is Reunion. Although Square probably knows that and may manage to craft new story elements that warrant calling it something else entirely.
They already used Reunion for the Crisis Core remake so that's out of the question.
Just play crisis core( reunion) and your perspective will change again.
I played the original during early 2000. And i loved Zack but after playing crisis core everything changed.
Ffvii is a master piece as there are so many moving pieces and somehow the story and lore just absorbes you.
For part 3 besides the main story i want to see the take with the weapons. It will be beautiful
Cannon vs weapon uff
No, you are actually correct in your assessment of the remake game order. The remake games were made for fan service-those who have played the original and knew the story. This is why they added the timeline side story to usurp fan expectations thinking it would follow beat for beat. This isn’t to say you will not enjoy remake f you never played the original but you just will not understand and appreciate the changes and updates. To put your Star Wars as an analogy, it would be like watching the prequels first before the OG trilogy not knowing about Darth Vader. The revenge of the Sith final battle was so good because you already knew OB1 was going to win and that Anakin will turn to the dark side.
The original Final Fantasy 7 can also be played on Nintendo switch
In the early 2000s when I first met FFVII the very first thing I saw was the biggest spoiler in the game, I was with a friend in a kinda of arcade, while we were waiting for one machine some guy was playing FFVII at the very ending of disc 1
Aerith doesn’t die at the Temple of the Ancients though. An easy mistake to make, I understand.
I played Remake first too, and I never really knew why Sephiroth and Cloud wanted to fight each other so badly. I did know that Aerith died, but I thought Cloud had intentionally stolen Zack’s identity instead of just being mentally unstable.
This was great
My opinion is that these remakes are actually a sequel to the original games and movie.
i have never played Ff7, i weeped like you wouldnt believe in rebirth
My play order is even more interesting. FF 7 Remake -> Crisis Core -> Rebirth -> OG FF7.
Kids from the mid 00s played
Advent children, maybe dirge of cerberus, and crisis core.
So you think your play order was wild. Try that 😅
Sooooo my beans don’t get spoiled - I’m guessing he played remake/rebirth before og? And that if we’re getting into the game start with og before remake/rebirth?
The developers said there is no wrong order to play the games.
For Proper play order is
FF7 Original
FF7 Crisis Core Reunion
FF7 Movie Advent Children
FF7 Remake
FF7 Rebirth
@@AkiraSeras Proper ? or historical
@@runnerkidal that’s the proper order if you want timeline wise it’s just putting Crisis Core before OG 7 though wouldn’t recommend it as spoiler reasons
@@AkiraSeras proper according to who? you?
