  • Then I felt peckish and thought I’d have a slice of New York pizza. There were a few places I had taken note off and I decided to go to John’s Pizzeria on 44th Street near Times Square. The building used to be a Gospel Tabernacle Church with an 8-piece stained glass ceiling that resembles a pizza. So besides wanting to test this highly rated thin crust pizza, I also wanted to see the ceiling and the inside of the place. Unfortunately they don’t serve individual slices of pizza so I ordered the small 6-slice Margarita pizza. Gosh it’s a 14-inch pizza! I thought I would have to take the leftover back with me. But no, it is light and thin and I finished it. Mind you, by this time, according to my watch, I had already walked 17,894 steps. Looks like I’ll have to keep the New York cheesecake for another time!

I decided to go to St Patrick’s Cathedral which wasn’t so far away. It is a huge church and very beautiful. There was exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in a chapel far inside and it was good to be able to spend quiet time there with Jesus.
So I decided to make my way back and found that the subway station I was going to use was closed and the recommended station was near Madison. So I decided to go back to Grand Central and get the train back to Jamaica and then the bus back to my night-stop. And of course there were many things to see en route including FAO Schwarz toy store at the Rockefeller Centre.
What a packed day it’s been and I’m thoroughly exhausted. Hopefully I will sleep through the night! Total steps: 27,618 steps - I should sleep through the night!
