I remember that first time it was a nightfall, and I'm sure it had solar burn and it was so hard. Seriously most NF back then you could cheese easily first time but this was around 5-6 attempts for us and we all had to go full try hard mode

I love the lore of this mission and if the primus (third brother) that was taken during the campaign was included im sure he'd have have void abilities making void burn an absolute nightmare yet it would make what is likely the best strike destiny has ever had. More than it already is. Really love the red war implications here
I always thought the other primus was Valus Ta'Aurc
@the711Natsirt Canotically it is Primus Tau'an which is briefly seen fighting taken during the enemy of my enemy mission. He's the first boss before fighting oryx in Regicide. He still has my favorite cabal design

@the711Natsirt yeah. He has a completely unique design from any other cabal. Basically a big colossus with large spikes.
Shield Brothers is such a good strike dude. Also, that blue sniper at the beginning was a huge power move on the Cabal ngl.
This is double boss encounters done right.

The problem with Glassway is not the bosses really, the problem is the endless waves of wyverns and overload minotaurs. Thank the heavens we have strand now

@@albusnightspring8057 and the 4 fcking barrier snipers in gm at the end, my team almost wiped to them cause the boss fucking protects them by body blocking and it's really hard to get them to separate

So refreshing to see you be happy in something destiny related. It looks genuinely fun to play this. I assure you nothing in Destiny 2 could make me "want" to play a nightfall again. I simply just "have" too. But this? this shit looks dope
God the sound design in D1 is just incredible man. Light years ahead of D2.

I dont know if im tripping but I swear that the double tormentor encounter in the LF campaign is a reference to this strike with how the area is arranged and the fact you are fighting two bosses at once.

this makes me wish that in D2 there was a way to change a kinetic weapon's damage type without the need for osmosis

Favourite strike.
Strikes in D1 are something else. They are not tougher than a D2 gm but easily tougher than a regular nightfall. Wish they had a siva style strike playlist that just rotates strikes that are tougher than the regular ones like in D1.
The only hard gms are light blade and moon psiops bro. If they ever brought this strike back to d2 and made it a gm its ggs

The fun thing i remember about the Maulers are because of the big thing around the wrist you couldn’t hip fire the last word because it blocks so much visibility lol

Your videos made me redownload and get on Destiny 1 (a game that I haven’t touched since 2015) and play for a little while
I like how all the stuff with the cabal in the taken king leads to them sending a signal to the cabal empire which leads to the red legion attacking the city.
love the content recently and just wanted to say keep it up! I also feel a cool idea would be if you somehow manage to get a full group of people together to do so it would be awesome to see you guys run through all the d1 raids (maybe once you finish the solo nightfall series)

Solo nightfalls was one of my favorite pastimes in D1. Both of the Dreadnaught strikes were soo good/challenging solo.
The fact this video uploaded nowadays aches my heart for distant memories. D1 was the game for me back in the day.

There’s a pile of bones up against one of the columns on the wall you can stand on where neither boss will attack you, used to cheese the ever living hell out of this strike with icebreaker way back when. Still works all these years later if I remember right, good times! 😂
I know for Mau'al you could crouch next to the crates in his entrance and cheese him that way. Didn't work for tlu'urn though

I played so much Destiny 1 and don't remember this strike..must have been later on and I just wasn't playing in the later parts because Peter Dinklage voiced the ghost when I was playing.

One of the best D1 strikes. Also dumb question, I don’t remember the deeper lore of this strike but, why are we stopping the Cabal from blowing the core of a hive god’s warship? Other then us being on it
Apparently it’s because destroying the core would be such a big explosion that it’d destroy most of the solar system.
They had such a close brotherly bond with Ta'aun that they were going to threaten oryx with blowing up the dreadnought in return for him giving back the Primus (who they did not know was dead).
I would highly recommend reading a lot of the grimoire for the three cabal leaders. (Ta'aun was Ma'aul and Tlu'urn's big brother who promised them safety aboard the dreadnought while they attempted to hold out until Ghaul's arrival

My absolute favorite strike ever. So fun. Sunless cell is probably my second.
God I hated this strike... well, the boss round anyway. The fight with Charizard and Blastoise just has you taking damage all the time and there's almost no cover. If you didn't have teammates who knew what to do you were never going to win. I cannot tell you how many times I quit at the boss fight because my match-made teammates were just f**king around and not helping.
I find it funny, how we thought destiny was so difficult because it was actually hard but now destiny 2 just seems to be more difficult because they give enemies and bosses more health and cheap one shot mechanics along with timing everything.. destiny also has better strikes in my honest opinion..

I do, genuinely, think Destiny 2 is a better game than Destiny 1. With that said though, there are certain things that D1 does FAR better. The mystique, the ambiance, and the strikes were phenomenal and somewhat lost in D2. Been absolutely loving the D1 videos man and I hope they continue :)

If you ever play the shield brothers, strike in destiny one that has got to be the best strike or at least my second best strike in destiny history I don’t think they should’ve changed it to what it is today. That’s just my opinion.
D1 in my opinion had way harder strikes. I Denver this was a nightmare to do lol.. I recently went back to D1, and wow D2 is a cakewalk compared to D1.
