- Scottish soap opera set in the fictional Loch Ness village of Glendarroch. A stranger arrives in Glendarroch, giving Maggie something to gossip about down at Blair's Store.
Made by Scottish Television and originally broadcast on the ITV network from 1980-2003. I own none of the content in this video, nor the video itself. 'Take The High Road', and all the rights to it, belong exclusively to STV Group plc, and no copyright infringement is intended.

my childhood. Brings back so many memories of sitting with my Granny and watching Take the highroad. especially the theme tune.
This music reminds me of being sick at home during my infant school years. My mum giving lucozade to help my energy and me vomming up fizzy orange chunder .
One of the many theme tunes / opening credits that sum up my childhood. Lunchtimes on the sofa eating sandwiches with my mum.
Now being shown on That's TV at 9am with two episodes each day.And I love and appreciate the theme tune no matter how many variants over the years there has been.
I remember sitting down watching this with my nan while she used to plait my hair, great fond memories lol.
Thanks so much for this video. What a classic soap. Absolutely love it

This used to be so good and then they stopped it in Wales so I never saw the last episodes.

The Scottish Emmerdale.
thanks for this x
They say it’s Loch Ness, but it looks a lot like Loch Lomond to me.
It was filmed at Loch Lomond
It is good to 1st first take the road missed the 1st time around. Reminds me of little of emmerdale farm and mixed with the tate family except she a widow
It reminds me of early Emmerdale Farm too. Later episodes after about 1990 seem like a mix of Howard's Way and Emmerdale to me.
And Natalie Robb went on to star in Emmerdale.
It was like a Scottish Emmerdale HighRoad
Mrs Mack was like the

Young Jimmy Blair seems to favour the tight fit pair of jeans.
I am having so much trouble trying to understand them
At the time they were aiming for an Inverness accent because it's the easiest accent for non-Scots to understand. I'm not Scottish, but apart from the occasional dialect words I could follow it quite easily.
loved it misk macky in it sneddon ?? dougie ??
