    my childhood. Brings back so many memories of sitting with my Granny and watching Take the highroad. especially the theme tune.

    This music reminds me of being sick at home during my infant school years. My mum giving lucozade to help my energy and me vomming up fizzy orange chunder .

    I remember watching this when getting home, from our radio rental video recorder on ITV every week loved it along with the Aussie soaps that where a cult viewing as well

    This used to be so good and then they stopped it in Wales so I never saw the last episodes.

    It is good to 1st first take the road missed the 1st time around. Reminds me of little of emmerdale farm and mixed with the tate family except she a widow

      It reminds me of early Emmerdale Farm too. Later episodes after about 1990 seem like a mix of Howard's Way and Emmerdale to me.

      At the time they were aiming for an Inverness accent because it's the easiest accent for non-Scots to understand. I'm not Scottish, but apart from the occasional dialect words I could follow it quite easily.
