- Namaste and Welcome back to Bapama's Kitchen, This week, in honor of Banana Week, Bapama is whipping up Sapaath - a sweet treat usually reserved for special occasions like pujas and festivals. It is a divine offering... and is not supposed to be made out of occasion, but, we've added a sixth ingredient so it's not technically prasad - meaning we can all enjoy it when we like.

INGREDIENTS (Equal Volume of All Ingredients)
1/2 Glass Fine Bulgur Wheat (Bombay Rava)
1/2 Glass Sugar
1/2 Glass Milk
1/2 Glass Ghee
1 Banana
2 Teaspoons Wheat Flour (To Obey Traditions & Customs)

Nice recipe.. Wanted to know from bappama that why it is said that you can not make sapaath at home on normal days unless it is satyanarayan pooja, does bappama know the reason, if any pls share with us. Thanks
@deepakini7497Hi! So Bapama's reply: Like Panchambrat, it has 5 ingredients and is sacred. It is considered to have divine healing properties and is usually offered to the lord, only during the special occasion of sathyanarayan puja, and served to everyone as prasaad.
Which is why we add Wheat flour when making this dish, to ensure compliance 👍
