Great Video Dennis thank you and I’m glad to be back with Second Chance Tackle. I’m looking at a Clash 2 for my first really nice spinning Reel and it’s a lot of Bread and these look like great Reels and comparable to a Shimano Stradic but I have Zero experience with anything above a 50 dollar price point Reel. I’ve also seen a Penn Wrath and I have no idea where that one falls in the order. I’d guess the low end. You know how I feel about reels with No AR override. I will never like a reel that doesn’t have one. By the way, my iPad said that Reel Schematics lost their privacy certificate. I could get to the site today. Dennis I worked on a Compac SL114 saltwater reel. It was in excellent shape except for one thing. As try as I may I could not open the housing even after all the screws were removed. I tries two different razor cutters to try snd open the seam but it was glued tight. I imagine it was old grease. I’ve used both wD-40 and PB Blaster but to no avail. I’ve sprayed it down good but I don’t think the seam will let me in. Any ideas? The screws came out easily, the handle came off, and the spool came off but the housing has been impossible. Out of working on well over three hundred vintage spinning reels, this is the only one I have failed to get open. I’m really starting to think I’m losing my touch with these old reels. I did service a nice Mitchell 486 today though. This was a great video as I had not seen a Clash serviced before. I assume Penn makes a Clash in a larger saltwater size too. - Chris

The Wrath is a very low end reel. About $40 at WalMart or Amazon On you case issue - that has happened to me before. It has usually been associated with a bearing frozen on the shaft of the main gear and in the case housing. The most recent one was on a Penn SS650. What a mess! - Sometimes, it just doesn't work as planned - Thanks Chris

This is a great reference video for reel maintenance! If you wouldn't mind answering, I noticed the other day as I changed out my braid on my clash 2, the line ended up laying very bottom heavy. I looked into it and its said its due to too many shim washers making the spool too high. I opened my clash 2 and It seems like the clash 2 models don't have shim washers in them by default, (I could easily be wrong). Is this a shim washer issue or is there an internal part i need to tweak? Thanks!

You accidentally installed the handle on the opposite side from how it was delivered.
