      Such a shame about your injury, after all the hard work you and your team put in.You have the heart of a lion, though, as you could have given up when you realised you couldn’t win, later in the event, but you gave it all you had.That stone run was amazing ,and to be one point off second, with that injury, is inspirational.😎

    Thor drops 150kg on his foot during farmers carry, smashes his plantar fascia to bits and then still takes 3rd place (missing out on 2nd by 1 point!) Is absolutely amazing...
    Congratulations Thor, you may not have won but you shown true heart and determination which is a win in my book.

      Dropping 150kg on your foot would result in broken bones, not a torn muscle. But I've heard a torn plantar fascia is one of the most painful injuries possible, I can't believe he kept going after that

    • @spider-man2485
      @spider-man2485 5 лет назад +1

      @@ryanc675 - Mate, he literally got his foot caught under the farmer block and that'd what detached the PF tendon. So essentially he dropped 150kg on his foot lol.
      Also, it wouldn't always cause broken bones, a friend of mine dropped (from his knees) a 130kg atlas stone on his right foot and not a single broken bone, not a chip not a fracture no nothing. It went all bruised and he couldn't walk on it for a few days but literally nothing more than cosmetic damage to the skin tissue.

      @@ryanc675 - Totally agree dude, totally! Considering its the "biggest" and most prestigious strongman competition in the world, their organisation for the athletes competing and the coverage for the fans is an absolute joke. It's ridiculous to say the least.
      Arnold classic strongman had a live coverage stream of almost all events and everything in between available for FREE on the rogue RUclips channel. Granted rogue don't do all that well in terms of organisation skills regarding the athletes competing (think the shoddy deadlift platform at this year's Arnolds deadlift) but at least they make a valid effort to give the best live coverage they can worldwide to the fans.
      Things need to improve with WSM and quickly before it dies out.

    Thor's vids are so quiet compared to Brian, Eddie or Martin's.

    Your trainer messed up, he should've had you lift heavier before the comp. You know your body best Thor.

    Lastly, is he a one unit of Thor or is he a half Thor?

    Active, stimulate, not Ahnialate. I'm sorry but I find that last one wrong, how are you suppose to push your limits at world's strongest man. Look I'm not saying rep till failure everyday but I strongly believe in pushing past thresholds sometimes just to know where I stand pushing it to the limit!! But great job guys good luck 👍

    does Thor already have All-Time most podiums in WSM ever?

      dude why don't you check youself. Thor indeed has EIGHT podiums, but it is Shaw who has NINE and leads the pack. Mariusz has seven (including 5 wins, though..) and JP Sigmarsson has 7 also.

    Now you need to work on some way to strengthen your feet and ankles, or walk flat footed. Obviously, static strength needs to be combined with movement. The impact on your feet and ankles is magnified exponentially when trying to move carrying massive weights. 3 serious injuries to competitors' feet and ankles this year. 2 of them potentially career ending (Achilles tendon rupture).
