Trani seems like such a cozy town! The hospitality was so nice (especially with the man who gave you free beers) and really the food products there look gorgeouussss. Looking forward to more videos from Trani and other parts of Italy! :)
I can’t get over the incredible hospitality here! And yes, the food situation is off the hook!! Thanks for watching :) I’m excited to keep sharing videos from here!
So I’m laughing hysterically at all your videos. I’m an American that moved to Italy 4 years ago. It’s just so comforting to hear other people’s stories of adapting. Our version is slightly different because we are in our late 50’s and sold everything we had and bought a Villa in the Tuscan countryside, without me ever seeing it in person. I’d love to be able to share more with you in a more personal format.
I just found your channel and so glad I did. I can’t wait to visit Italy but for now I’ll just visit it through your channel. Such an amazing experience to be invited by so many people to see Italy through their eyes. I just moved to the south of France from Cali and I hope I will be able to do something like this one day. How exciting.
South of France sounds pretty lovely if you ask me! Have you tried the pissaladiere yet? I'm curious to know what you think... Thanks for your kind words and thanks for watching!
Oh my gosh why am I just now running across your channel! You are hilarious and spunky! I’ve been obsessed with everything Italy since being in lockdown and have been little by little learning some words, cruising around the scenery of the country and of course drooling over the food. I just subscribed and look forward to checking out your videos.
ci sono tantissime cose interessanti in italia ed è bellissimo che tu le faccia conoscere a persone lontane e poi sei in posto meraviglioso, vedo qualcosa di bello anche io che lì non ci sono mai stata
Notice when he asked if the price was ok for you at 11:02. "Venditori ambulanti" are used to trade the price and want to be sure that the price is not too high for you :D
Bellissimo! Italy and the food there seem so beautiful! I feel your vibrant confidence in your quirkiness has definitely grown since you've lived there. :) Lol don't forget to remember us as you get more famous. xD Excited for future adventures to come!
that "stronzo" took me off guard. such in a strong british accent (yes you're not british, but sounded like it) but the tone was so familiar, actually italian
It's really challenging to move to another country with a different language (I know I live in Sardinia). To feel included within the community is awesome and important, knowing the guy who makes the bread, the nonna that makes the pasta, the man who makes the beer...
Buon Natale to you both!! You’re 100% right with what you said. It’s those little things that make all the difference !! I’m doing pretty good with it so far...but I’ve really go to work on meeting the nonna that makes pasta!
Looks like you're having a lot of fun in Salento :) . Love your videos, they have a good energy, a vibe that makes people feel better. Un saluto da Roma.
Congratulations on your success. Also, 1:49 into this video: euro coins...makes me feel at home...(I'm Irish, and watching this here at home here in Ireland).
@@TheQKatie yeah. Great video BTW. Also, having money notes different sizes and colours, starting with five euro being the smallest value being the smallest size, all the way up to €500 being the largest size and value, makes it harder for scams and mix ups between notes. G'day Katie. Took the family back to Italy in Dec/Jan of 2010. In northern Italy of that time of the year you'd freeze your a$s off. And your out on the water in a swimsuit. Soooo envious!!! Love, love, love your channel.
Katie, your videos are great. They take me back to Italy, a place that is dear to my heart. Your Italian is excellent, but I have un’osservazione per te: Un uovo. Tante uova. But whenever you use “qualche” what follows has to be in the singular. So, “Vorrei qualche uova” even if the meaning is “I would like some eggs.” Weird rule, but at least there are no exceptions to this one! Ciao!

I moved to Milan in June, and am enjoying seeing how life is like in Southern Italy! --- I have olive oil coming up from Locorotondo next week as well, and this video got me even more excited for it! Hi Katie, thank you for awakening in me some "appucundrìa" (nostalgia in Neapolitan). I've missed the warm winter climate of my hometown for too long, since I've lived in Germany, Greater Munich, for eight years. Here has become my second Heimat, now I'm about to get dual-citizenship, hopefully in time to vote at the next Bundestagswahlen. If only that big city I grew up in had more quality of life, if only I could get there a decent job as a qualified IT professional, I'd pack all of my stuff and move back right tomorrow. No one should be forced to leave home due to lack of opportunities. Glad you're enjoying your stay in Meridione. You're both doing it much better than I did back then.
Very much enjoyed your videos, living in Florence, so true about the easy good life - had to smile about the comment about covering up your furnishings..indeed us Italians do cover up our furnishings, even the newly purchased pieces. Momma was right. :)
How were you able to move to Italy as an American during the pandemic? I'm trying to get dual citizenship right now. I have more than a year still before my appointment with the Italian Consulate here in Chicago.
I moved to Italy from England (I lived in London for the past 4ish years) -- travelers from the UK were allowed when I moved here Nov. 1. The consulates in America take a really long time!! When I looked, it was about 18 months out at the consulate in Detroit...

Dear Katie, I was watching you Christmas video and I noticed Santa Klaus who playing his harmonica in the street. Maybe you would like to know that the origin of Santa starts with San Nicola di Bari, the patron of that city which is just near you. San Nicola was famous bishop known for his kindness in the land which is now southern Turkey. There he lived in the early Christian Era and became famous for making gifts to people in need. His bones were brought to Puglia in the middle ages. There he was cherished and adored by the local people because his presence worked miracles. His fame spread rapidly to northern Europe where his name changed: Nicola = Klaus! There became even more adored and famous having pilgrimages to his Cathedral in Bari. Even today this continuous; I personally noticed some women there, coming in pilgrimage from Russia. The myth sailed to America where he lost his Christian tradition and became “red” thanks to Coca Cola. That’s how we know him today; maybe you can make a video on that. It’s missing on Internet. Check out his detailed story on Wikipedia. Enjoy living in Italy. Ciao
