- Happy Friday, friends! Can you believe we are over half way through October? Time is flying by! With my shop update keeping me so busy, I wanted to spend a day doing some of the autumn bucket list things I've been wanting to do this season! Join me while I drive around looking for fall colors, dip leaves in beeswax, create a handmade garland, and was so happy to see the return of my owl friend! 🧡 Thank you so much as always for being here and supporting my work in so many ways.

Is there anything that feels cozier than autumn 🍁🍄🐿️ ? I love the vibes it gives off to me. Definitely my favorite season. I used to love winter too when it would snow.

Another beautiful Autumn filled video. I preserved some Autumn leaves in vegetable glycerin 3 years ago and they are still looking great. On my daughter's ceiling beam I attached tree branches (twisted hazel are particularly magical) with toadstools and birds so it looked like she was sleeping in an enchanted tree house and I thought where you have your fairylights over your bed would look wonderful with some branches also. I remember gathering fall leaves and placing them between two sheets of wax paper, and I think you put down a towel, using a warm iron over it, and you get about the same effect. Cool you have a barred owl visit you! Enjoying your videos.

I’ve been sick today, and seeing this pop up has definitely cheered me up. You always get such amazing shots of the animals in your nature walks! Also I am in love with your dress by the way. Dipping leaves in beeswax is now on my to do’s list lol. Congratulations on the success of the shop, I’m so happy for you!
I did that with the beeswax and leaves when my kids were little littles (like 10 years ago 🤯)! We made a garland for over our door. I had hoped it would preserve the colour, but they still faded.

The closeups of the heron were so beautiful! What kind of lens/camera setup did you have to be able to get so much detail of it without scaring it away?
For this time, I just was handholding my camera which is a Panasonic LUMIX GH5, with a 45-150mm lens! This really does give a nice zoom, but I also have just had a lot of practice in approaching wildlife really quietly and calmly and they don't seem to scare away too quickly! ✨
