  • "God Save the Queen":
    God save our gracious Queen,
    Long live our noble Queen,
    God save the Queen:
    Send her victorious,
    Happy and glorious,
    Long to reign over us:
    God save the Queen.
    "God Defend New Zealand":
    (Māori version)
    E Ihoā Atua,
    O ngā iwi mātou rā;
    Āta whakarongona,
    Me aroha noa;
    Kia hua ko te pai
    Kia tau to ata whai;
    Manaakitia mai
    Aotearoa
    "God Defend New Zealand":
    God of Nations at thy feet
    In the bonds of love we meet;
    Hear our voices we entreat;
    God defend our free land;
    Guard Pacific's triple star;
    From the shafts of strife and war;
    Make her praises heard afar
    God defend New Zealand.
    "God Defend New Zealand" is one of the national anthems of New Zealand, together with "God Save the Queen". Although they both have equal status, "God Defend New Zealand" is the anthem that is in common use and is popularly referred to as "the national anthem".
