Hey frank. I like your show. Pretty interesting stuff. Have you ever meet frank ballestrie or his sons? Is there a reason Milwaukee phil left Milwaukee?
Lookin' at Mr. Cullotta lookin' at his old neighbourhood and reminiscing about his past was kinda bittersweet. Don't get me wrong, I love his stories and the great way he tells 'em. Frank Cullotta is a unique man and I think those few who really know him are quite fortunate. Saluti!
@Coffee With Cullotta - one of the BEST video's you've done! Please do more like this. You can show made guys houses, including Spilotro's Chicago home, bosses homes, etc. Maybe you can do a video like this about Las Vegas ? Bertha's , Tony's house, Leftys house, where Cullotta lived in the 1970s & 80s, etc
Frank I can watch you for days, and I like your impeccable taste of Fedoras you have to tell me who makes this one you have on in this episode. Much Gratitude, Xavier Clemente.
I’m so glad you’re around to share first hand knowledge and experience Frank. I only wish that I had asked my grandmother about things that she went through when she was growing up
When he said Monte Fiore my Dad God Bless him. When I was little it was always "keep acting up and I'm send you to Monte Fiore, that's where all the bad boys go!."I didn't realize they meet in that part of Grand Ave. That's the Montclair section of Chicago. I was thinking down by the patch. If you woulda zoomed in (I don't think he noticed because the logo is new) but across the street from Chase going West on the E.P. side that is the new Caputo's. He knows Caputo's but he knows them from their other location down harlem three or four blocks it was a shack but EVERYONE went their for their produce and deli. Anyways Angelo Caputo & his family have done quite well for themselves the new one is the size of a Jewel or Dominick's & he has 3 or 4. Man I got a million new questions for him. That was a great idea. Someone has to build an app where its Google earth combined with old family photos and newspaper articles so you could go and you would see how it used to look. Either way great idea Adam. Throw a dodging the ice pick or vice at him every once in awhile. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks! I dodged another ice pick at 15:45 in this video. There will be more of these to come, but due to using Google Earth the vid can not be monetized.
Hey Mr. Cullotta. Can't tell you how much I enjoy your stories! I went to Proviso East and had many friends in Melrose Park. I am a Pollack and the Italians always tried to intimidate me. I had a "glass jaw" so I didn't win too many fights I never stayed down for long. God bless and keep you!
Nice work Adam, Frankie is sharp! Yesterday’s dreams have turned to everything that is now empty. No Bueno man. Frankie, your stories make life a little easier to deal with in these times. Stay well Gumbada!
Hey Frank! I grew up in Michigan on a MAY STREET too! We got something in common, but I never worked for the outfit! By the way, that nice Carpet on the Wall you can claim is a TAPESTRY! Tapestries were always used by the Rich Folks throughout history to adorn their walls!! Glad youse got one now!!
Had to ask this before I forgot it. We all love Frank's stories he tells us. I was just wondering if he remembers any storys that were told to him when he was younger by some of the old time mob guys. I dont care if its true or not just how it was told to frank. I understand that it might be a bit of a test even for Frank's machine like memory so dont think on it too much. Loving the virtual tour. Respect from the UK
This was a phenomenal idea, frank. Im a polak I came up on the north side Cumberland and Sayre so I been all over these areas as a kid in the city and west suburbs, I love this shit! Seeing that some places I used to go to were attached to the outfit, and your old stomping grounds. I'm prescribed and I love ya man. Keep em coming frankie! Salut' #nostalgia
Hey Frank I'm a big fan and subscriber..Love all your videos and I've read alot of your material..I have a question, I had an great uncle who was in Vietnam Named Roy nicknamed Duck and was told when he came back from the war he was mixed up with a tough group of guys supposedly to my grandpa as a mobbed up group from dayton,Ohio..He said it was a tough town..Did you ever hear of mob guys in Dayton or Youngstown Ohio? And I live in Columbus Ohio, ever hear any mob stuff about Columbus? Hope you see this and give some insight..Thank you Frank.
Great show, Frank! You look good; stronger. I made the red gravy and macaroni today. Since moving up here with these Chicago guineas, I make a sweeter sauce. My Italian family in NYC wants to disown me over a cup and a half of sugar! How about a show about Butchie Petrocelli or Gerry Scarpelli? Stone cold killers, I hear, but also just guys from around Taylor. They "worked" with Tony Borsellio and Henry Aleman during the Wild Bunch days. Take care, brother.
My first job out of high school, Department of Streets and Sanitation, Belmont and Western, 1968. Loved throwing those 55 gallon drums. Got pain to exercise. Never worked an 8 hour day.
Hi Frank, big fan from Australia. You are very entertaining and a breath of fresh air. I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work and shout out to both you and Andy for keeping us entertained. You are so authentic and it's great to hear your stories. I've actually been to the great city of Chicago 3 times and love it! What a city! I was on Michigan Ave on the bridge once and saw a black mafia tours bus. I couldn't stop laughing at how they take seriousness and what it involves and commercial it. Ive been to Vegas a few times and a big fan of old downtown the old mafia strip area. Next time l'm there l'll take your tour. Hey have you seen Joey Lombardo on RUclips walking around Woolworths trying to avoid a tv camera? I can see how he was a clown. Sault my friend and keep up the great work with your stories. I'd prefer you not read but at least comment on your video episodes about Joey 'The Clown' Lombardo in thst video. ruclips.net/p/RD9jlLMKp6uNc&feature=share&playnext=1 Big Tony and Frank fan!
When I go back to my old Neighborhood. I see some things the same ,and something changed. Some build updated , and some replaced. I remember the people that lived in certain houses. Now I see different people as I drive by. I know time never wait for Anyone. It just rolls onChange, is the only constant.
I love this!! It’s like the Chicago video tours on PBS channel 11! How about Capone’s clothing store on Harlem Ave? Please tell us this is part 1 of these tours! It is sad though, how the old city is torn down for new crap.
I moved from that area 8 years ago. I saw them build the Caputos and build the bank. Drove Harlem North every day to work. I lived on North ave couple blocks from mad Sams old house
Loved it!! Love these tours and this whole channel. Could watch it all day long. So interesting and Frank still has a wicked memory God Bless him!! Imagine him in his prime! Show us which house he thinks Tony was killed in.
Another great video Frank, your videos inspired me to have a Lou malnatis pizza shipped to providence, R.I. it was spectacular!!! If you were to sit down to watch a movie, what movie are you watching and what food are you eating? (I personally go with casino/pizza)
No disrespect frank but I haven't smiled or laughed so much listening u bring joy old timer respect I'm gonna buy a mug bbunder bing I wont forget about it
Great show frank. I like the virtual tour idea! Did you know Marshall Caifano? I was reading that he was the outfit guy that controlled vegas before you and Tony got there. Can you shed some light on who he was and what he did?
I concur with Frank, the corner of Grand and Harlem has changed so much I would never recognize it. There use to be a Fred Astaire dance studio above the storefront of the building on the NW corner of Grand and Harlem. I dated a girl who was a dance instructor there. Further west on Grand was Armenetti's Liquor store that also had a small bar attached to the store. When ever I went back to Chicago, I could always find my old neighborhood buddies drinking there because the drinks were cheap. I had a friend who was a bookie on the NW side and use to take all the sports betting action at the bars all around that neighborhood. He also had the entire territory of the Chain-O-Lakes/Fox lake area. Use to drive around in his speed boat to all the bars throughout the chain and take all the action. Hugh Hefner, the founder of Playboy Magazine grew up in the Grand and Harlem area, as well as Kim Novack, the big movie star of the late 50s. She grew up on the other side of the RR tracks behind the Monclaire Movie Theater that use to be on Grand Ave. I was hoping your video showed some of Reese Park, which is a mile east of Harlem, just before where the end of Fullerton converges with Grand Ave. That was Tony Spilotro's turf when he was a teenager and I think Frank hung out around the park also.
Hey Frank, it’s Tim from Grand Ave. my brother and I did the tour with you last summer. We hit it off very well because we were able to talk about the old neighborhood. One question I didn’t ask you about was the C-Notes. Just wondering if you guys were in that crew coming up? When I was coming up that was the young Italian crew on Grand Ave. Keep the videos coming man.
That was brilliant. Really interesting. Great way to see all the old places and hear lots of new stories. Do one in Vegas too. Go to the goldrush, the uppercrust, the homes, where lefty was blown up etc That would be great to see all those spots with franks commentary
Hey, Frank. I think this is one of the best episodes that you guys have done. And I'm not only saying that because I live buy Harlem & Diversey. Is there any way you guys do another episode like this one but more in Elmwood or Shiller park. With much Respect!!!
Frank, much respect to you. Really enjoying your talks and interviews. A question, please: I grew up on the southwest side of Chicago, about a mile west of Midway airport. (The Clearing neighborhood). Did you know of anyone in the Outfit, or any connected guys from that part of the city? Thanks, Frank, peace to you and God bless. P.S. I just perscribed and am ordering a mug. Keep reppin' Chicago.
LaRoc’s used to be on the corner where the By-Line bank is now. Jimmy-Boy and his fruit stand are long gone. Grand Av has changed dramatically. Some things are still there. D’Amato bakery and Bari grocery store-
There used to be an Italian Soccer club near the corner on the Elmwood Park side where you said the clothing store was. Just wondering if they had any connections. Yes, and Chicago represented the interests of the other midwest and California families. Frank your doing a great job, are you related to Jan Culatto at all, i use to work with here years ago, also I knew a guy named Flory Calabrese who use to own Cosmos Italian restaurant in Las Vegas, is it still open. Keep up the good work.
The tour was a brilliant idea Mr Cullotta. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I have a question for you - as someone with inside knowledge of organised crime what book(s) by other writer(s) would you recommend?
My family grew up on 24st in Chinatown.Same block as the Rodi the carruso talerico and a whole bunch of others . Any thoughts on the Bridgeport/ Chinatown outfit .
Frank, thanks for the interesting videos! I have prescribed ! I was wondering if you have ever been to Newport kentucky or know anything about that area ? Being that it used to be a big mob town back in the 50's and 60's. Do you know anything about the Beverly hill supper club fire that was supposedly set as payback by the mob or the george Ratterman , April Flowers incident ! Thanks p.s. this is my hometown town area .
Yo Frankie it’s great 👍 to have you you and Adam back on RUclips I’m really enjoying your tour tonight Frankie it’s very interesting now get ya fucking shine box 📦 haha 😂 looking forward to the next tour stay safe you boys and I’m noticing your subscribers are going up Frankie well done 👍 big respect ✊🏽 from Stevie boy also on the next tour or a later one could we fly by Tony Acardos house Frankie I’ve seen a couple of photos of his old palace down there (and I do know that Ricca and Humphrey wasn’t to happy with him for buying it)but his house was mostly hidden by the trees is it Grand Avenue he lived please Frankie nice one ☝️brother.
Great stories frank, I always watch your videos and I share and like your videos, i only have one question if you don’t mind. How come tony and lefty Rosenthal knew each other back in the day.thanks frank, all the best
Frank your videos are great, and keep getting better and better. I was fortunate enough to be on your tour in vegas a few years back and loved it. At that time, you were working on maybe a "special" tour of the inside of tony's house. What ever happened with that? Was Gene and Jude's(river grove) another one of your favorite restaurants?
Great videos Mr. Cullotta. I hope you can answer my question. I know this is before your time, but from what you know about the history of the Outfit, after Al Capone went to prison, was Frank Nitti the Boss of the Outfit or was it really a combination of Paul Ricca and Tony Accardo? Stay healthy.
Who was Dominick Lefty Teodori of Teodoris division lounge in Melrose Park Illinois it is now Abruzos for last 20 years kids in the Neighborhood said he was a pitcher for Milwaukee brewers
“Yesterday’s dreams are today’s vacant lots”- Frank Cullotta, 2020
Great quote..
Classic 👍
Very true. I feel the same when I drive through the Back of the Yards neighborhood where I grew up. 47th and Ashland area.
Agreed
Hey frank. I like your show. Pretty interesting stuff. Have you ever meet frank ballestrie or his sons? Is there a reason Milwaukee phil left Milwaukee?

You are right my friend he does where some grate hats...
I live in this area and grew up here. You're right, it is different even within the last 20 years.
Saluti!
So cool to see the look on your face, remembering everything and reminiscing . What a life you have lived my friend !

Great show frank. I like the virtual tour idea! Did you know Marshall Caifano? I was reading that he was the outfit guy that controlled vegas before you and Tony got there. Can you shed some light on who he was and what he did?

D’Amato bakery and Bari grocery store-
You forgot the house on McVickers. I got to see your and Tony's places last year on our Chicago trip. It was a great experience.
This was a great episode!!! Virtual tour was a great idea!
Glad you enjoyed it!
There used to be an Italian Soccer club near the corner on the Elmwood Park side where you said the clothing store was. Just wondering if they had any connections. I had to make a delivery there once back in the late 80s and in the basement was a room with a big oval shaped table in it. I thought to myself what kind of meetings do they have in here. Very nice people though. They even gave me a nice tip.
Like if you’d like to hear Frank say *GENTRIFICATION* !!
Great idea, you run this gig forever guys! Very cool idea
Hey Frank you're the boss of all bosses love the show, Why didn't the outfit make their own commission with the midwest and West coast families since New York controls the entire Northeastern corridor families.
That’s a great 👍 question Gus
Yes, and Chicago represented the interests of the other midwest and California families. I could see a Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, Cleveland, St. Louis, Kansas City, Denver, (Minneapolis was run by non-Italian crime groups but were close to The Outfit and Genovese families) commission with LA / SF associated.
Enjoying your show.. next time you should do Vegas..
Frank your doing a great job, are you related to Jan Culatto at all, i use to work with here years ago, also I knew a guy named Flory Calabrese who use to own Cosmos Italian restaurant in Las Vegas, is it still open. Keep up the good work.
