First Sunset hike in 2025

New Year`s Hike at Schöckl 1445m (Austria)

It is getting a habit that I spend my new years in the Nature. I hiked on the first day of the year this time. It takes 1 hour by car to get to the starting point (Schöcklkreuz). It is a pay parhing area, 3 euro 3 hours, and 5 euro for the day. I had a fast speed uphill, I wanted to be on the top for the sunset. It was about 400m ascent. after midnight
Graz home mountain in Austria called Schöckl. Easy to access with car, many variation of hikes, from a few hours long to the all day hikes. It was about 8 km mini hike (3-4h). I started from the Schöcklkreuz.

Wonderful scenery @ Schöckl-Gipfel at New Years Day. It was a probably a good decision to do the hike at this date, more quiet and less people. Good start in 2025, Chris & Sandra
