You do a good job of showing what needs to be done. Good pipe welders take pride in their skill. A good pipe welder is hard to come by. Worked in a major oil refinery for 30+ years, when money got tight the ones in charge would look at cutting wages on the contractor side for shut downs. When they cut the pipe welders wages the good local ones would go out of town for work. This would cause the shut downs to run out one to two weeks longer because of all the busted weld, rewelds, extra x-rays. Then the ones in charge would want to know why it took so long to finish a shut down. Sometimes the ones in charge have to learn the hard way about good pipe welders, some never did. Glad I am retired, got tired of the fight to keep the pipe welders pay up. Good pay for good pipe welder always made you good time and money getting the shut downs finished. Nobody wants a bad weld in a oil refinery. I good pipe welder will not do you a bad job just because you cut his money, he will just not show up and go out of town where they do pay for his skill.

Sure appreciate u all doing these "tutorials" for welders, especially young welders. Old-timers r very stingy with imparting their secrets and how-tos when it comes to welding. Again, thank u. Fantastic jobs: welder, helper & videographer! 👍👍👍👍👍

Good video Jacob. The welding is the easy part a lot of times. It's the prep and fitting up that can be a pain in the butt.

Glad to see someone teaching others about the pride, nowadays the older fellas just don’t have the patience or tolerance to deal with the way these younger bucks have been brought up, no respect. That’s all I have to say about that. Keep up the good work! I love your videos because you are real, and you are not acting. Again, great work, don’t give up. Keep going, you’ll never know the people you help, but the Good Lord will!!!

Why do they make you do the branch tests in the states. Is it just to see if you know how to cope pipe? Vs doing a pipe to pipe test?
