I think learning vs. taking action can be pretty challenging and mind-boggling, especially with a hustler’s mindset. The brain wants to go full throttle into what’s excited about learning, but in that process of taking action, you learn lessons you wouldn’t have if there was no action in place

I think back to when my wife had to talk me into taking Financial Peace. I knew what to do with money. I knew to budget, to save, to get out of debt, but I wasn't actively doing it. I wasn't taking action and as a result, nothing was changing. As a result of the course, we starting taking action and as a result we are in a much more secure position than we ever dreamed. Learning without taking action allows you to dream of what might be. Taking action turns those dreams into reality.

Exactly! I love that you found what works for you when it comes to taking action! Every person/client is different on what they need to take action and that’s where coaches come in!

I am still where I am today because I never took action. I have learned a lot but doesn’t have really value because I haven’t applied it. Until today. Today I am taking action and that starts with your podcast.

I have always said that you have to have a compelling 'Why' and I agree that teaching a person to understand their 'Why' is so important.

Just learning keeps us in inaction. Learning and doing even getting to messy action is the true sweet spot. I have leaned more and more into this concept the more I've practiced it myself. It requires letting go of all perfectionism and potential failure BUT staying in learning mode will for sure keep you from doing anything. Love the channel!!!

The event for me that changed my life was taking action to go back to college and complete my degree. I learned that there is no substitute for hard work, investing in yourself provides a lifetime of returns, and I also learned a few things about me as a person.

I learn most by teaching. As a teacher, I feel I need to do what I teach. I realized all that when I became an instructor in the military.

Definitely! Teaching others can really reinforce good habits and brings a lot of clarity and insight to our own experiences.

So I knew what a budget was and why it was important but I hadn't gotten around to applying the knowledge and actually creating one. After sitting down to create one I felt more confident and in control of my money. I actually found myself going back to my budget from time to time to refine some expenses. I think because I put in effort to design the budget I had indirectly become invested in the process and gotten momentum to take additional steps.

Really great studio! I think the learning vs taking action portion is extremely difficult for not just clients, but coaches as well. As a society in general, we know we need to do this or that, but we struggle to actually go with it. Helping those more with emotional and behaviors can help this. Can't wait to see more!!

For years I knew that time was my ally in terms of retirement investing. I put money away but just blindly put it in a target date fund. As my income grew and I got older I wanted to be more involved in what my money was doing. I found a great online course, learned a lot of stuff and figured out it’s not all that hard once you understand it. I started taking baby steps, made some great choices, learned from some mistakes and formed my personal philosophy in the meantime. I now have total control of my investments and more importantly I understand what is happening and much more comfortable with my future. I would not have any of that if I didn’t act on my new knowledge.

So glad to hear that you were inclined to become more involved with what your money was doing, this is so important! It's wonderful that you were able to make changes, stick with those changes and see growth. Well done and thank you for sharing!

So good! Love the studio. Congrats Kelsa! I agree…taking action on what we learn is still learning. It helps complete the learning loop. If I stayed in learning mode it would only be theory and practical application. It’s this practical application of what I’ve learned that also helps me grow. I can adjust along the way to be better!

I started investing 10% of my income 12 months ago. I also have set up investment portfolios for my grandchildren around the same time. I had been thinking of doing these for ages and just decided one day to do it, so I did. Plus it was so easy.
