I'm 41, I can't necessarily relate to the experiences in Maisie's songs but that doesn't matter when the songwriting is this good. The rhyme schemes and clever use of colloquialisms even put me in mind of greats like Cole Porter...

"what a long winter, what a bad joke" is inexplicably so heartrending. and the last verse left me with such a bittersweet mark, like, the raw emotion in "it didn't work out and i wanted it to work / loved you i swear / loving you's not fair / so love you i don't" left me feeling despondent. i adore you, maisie, i really do

I am currently in a long distance relationship with a guy online (different continents). We have been dating for almost 2 years now. We are not fighting anymore about silly things but the more we think about getting together, the further it gets. We feel like we are depriving each other's happiness. Everything is okay but at the same time not. He had been saying its impossible to work it out. I know the automatic thing to do is to break up, but both of us dont want to. We just want to stay here.
