Withdrawing from a competition is 100% legal approach and has been done several times in the past. Athlete’s health concerns have higher priority than taking on the competition under severe physical stress . Else all the 4 bouts should have been finished on the same day as per the Tokyo norms. Gaining weight upon taking meals after 3 or 4 bouts is absolutely normal. Shifting the 4th bout to next day needed to be supported with the practicalities of adequate time gap before redoing the weigh-in process . There are many issues that more than meet the eye .

She wanted to fight in 53 and earlier also she used to fight in 53 kg but she could not make her place in it because she lost 10-0 to "Antim Panghal" at the national level, so she chose 50 instead of 57. We respect the sportsmanship and the player but if there is a mistake then the mistake is of the player. And this is not the first mistake, in the "2016 Olympics" also she was disqualified because of "400 grams more weight".
My concern is how Olympic allowed the one who was defeated by Vinesh. She lost so basically she was out of the game but before the game Vinesh can't loose her weight so her opponent must be given Gold there shouldn't be any need for a match. Read rules of wrestling:
1. For podium you have to qualify your weight on both days.
2. In olympic event the number of medals are fixed for example you can check high jump result of Tokyo Olympic. Where 2 gold and 1 bronze given no silver was there. So joint silver was not possible.
3. Vinesh is qualified for finals as per rules if you disqualified from tournament your opponent will take your position. The same happen in this case. For rep charge Japan wrestler was qualified because vinesh is a finalist but disqualified.

Withdrawing from a competition is 100% legal approach and has been done several times in the past. Athlete’s health concerns have higher priority than taking on the competition under severe physical stress . Else all the 4 bouts should have been finished on the same day as per the Tokyo norms. Gaining weight upon taking meals after 3 or 4 bouts is absolutely normal. Shifting the 4th bout to next day needed to be supported with the practicalities of adequate time gap before redoing the weigh-in process . There are many issues that more than meet the eye .
CAS took 10 days to dismiss the petition with one sentence. What a joke!! Could have done it a long time back.

All this about CAS seems just a diversion. We as a nation need to learn why Vinesh, her medical team and IOA failed but the same objective of weight rejection was achieved in Aman's case. Considering higher male metabolism and all other factors, we still need to learn what happened and whether it was incompetence, negligence or clear sabotage. We need to learn about incompetence if that maybe, so that we can become competent, we need to learn about negligence if that maybe so that we are aware next time something like this happens and we need to learn about sabotage if that maybe to root out the Stooges from the system to avoid such failures in the future. CAS verdicts have always been opaque like the recent one of mancity vs uefa and not the ideal justice system we think we might get.

It was unfortunate that she lost due to disqualification on account of not meeting the weight requirements. I feel sorry for her. However rules are rules - there are others also from different other countries also who were disqualified on similar grounds with similar verdict in various different tournaments. So there is no conspiracy against her. Plain and simple - it's written down in the rule book and emotions have no place in it. She should have accepted gracefully, rather than making a emotional drama out of it. A country of 140 crore people crying and cribbing over a silver medal is shameful. Champions accept the facts with grace because they believe their capabilities that they can do it again and better. And those who don't believe will create drama, cry, crib and create a scene to gain sympathy.

No one is above the rules, rules are equal for everyone, if someone has an objection that she was disqualified just because of 100 grams then she should have fought in her original weight category. for the last 2 years her original weight was 55-57 i.e. "weight category 57 kg". She wanted to fight in 53 and earlier also she used to fight in 53 kg but she could not make her place in it because she lost 10-0 to "Antim Panghal" at the national level, so she chose 50 instead of 57. We respect the sportsmanship and the player but if there is a mistake then the mistake is of the player. And this is not the first mistake, in the "2016 Olympics" also she was disqualified because of "400 grams more weight".
