FUJIOKA MIKIO may he Rest in Peace as he will never be Forgotten..
There's a lot more to this song that needs to be explained, so I'll go into a bit of detail here.
1. This song first appeared on a DVD called "Gathering of the Metal Gods", where BOH, Ohmura, Mikio, and Hideki are playing this. The first solo is actually Mikio playing from that first performance of the song. Mikio is superimposed over Ohmura here, so you are seeing him play.
2. I don't recall what the original name of the song was, but it was changed to The Hills of Wisteria, because not only was Mikio Ohmura's instructor, but also his mentor. Plus it literally is Mikio's name. "Fuji" = Wisteria in Japanese. "Oka" = Hill in Japanese.
3. Ohmura is playing Mikio's guitar, which is the Mikio Fujioka signature model ESP Snapper. Mikio's wife gave him that guitar. Taped to the back of the headstock of the guitar is a cigarette. That was Mikio's favorite cigarette, and serves as an invitation for him to come back and play it at any time. Under the plate where the bridge is at the back of the guitar is a letter. That letter is written to Mikio, by his daughter. Nothing more to really be said about that.
4. This hit everyone in Babymetal hard, as we all know, including the girls. At the APMA Awards, Babymetal was playing live, joined by Rob Halford, of Judas Priest. At that show, both Moa and Yui are playing guitar. Mikio was teaching both of them how to play, so in essence, they lost their guitar instructor as well.
5. Ohmura stated that from now on, whenever he is playing with Babymetal, that guitar will always be there, either on stage behind him, or him playing it. This is so Mikio is always on stage performing with them, in one form or another.
6. This show was a Mikio Fujioka tribute show, arranged and put on by Ohmura, called "My Little God". Not only is the entire show available on DVD/Blu-Ray, but they are putting this show on every year, with all of the proceeds/funds going to help Mikio's family and organics business. Additionally, they will always paly videos of Mikio playing and in his element to his children, so the children will always know who he is and never forget him, plus keep his memory alive to them.
So yeah.. this show is really deep, hence Ohmura shamelessly crying on stage. In fact, they all were.
Do you know the title of that blu-ray by any chance…?
@@willyandjazz it’s the same name as the fundraiser: My Little God.
I can feel the sadness just by looking at Takayoshi playing Mikoi's part 😢😢😭😭😭😭😭 RIP
He doesn't technically play his part. As far as I can tell, they let a backing track of Mikio's part. Ohmura seems to be playing powerchords for the riff during that sequence. Which is why it's also extra emotional for me. It must have been so hard for Ohmura and the rest of the band to hear Mikio's playing but not him doing it himself next to them in person.
It was a backing track. Have you seen Mikio's image? that was mikio playing his solo..
instablaster...
For those of us who were aware of his smiling face, and his laid back demeanor, and his awe inspiring ability he will never be forgotten. RIP Ko-Kami 😢❤️
俺も、泣いてしまったよ。
悲しいです😢
The guitar that Takayoshi Ohmura was playing here is a relic of Mikio Fujioka!
It isn't a relic of Mikio's.. it is Mikio's actual guitar.
R.I.P Mikio never forgotten, I still tear up watching that and think I all ways will
Thank you for your reaction!
I cried again...
His guitar is also weeping gently.
RIP, Mikio.
The Kami Band showed a beautiful side of themselves. And you did the same. Thank you.
I cried right with ya and this wasn't even my first time seeing it. They play absolutely out of their minds and hearts! This was there first time I noticed where they held onto the last chord forever as if they never wanted to let go... RIP Mikio!!
もらい泣き。。。😭😭😭😭
ありがとう
「 ARIGATOU 」 😭👍
This was hard to watch, even for a heavy metal guy like me, had to fight back a tear.
It's been 3 years ago today since he passed.
The guitarist who was most influenced by guitarist Omura is George Lynch.
George Lynch is dokken guitarist.
please don't cry, get well !!!
from japan(japanese)
Darn everytime i saw this it makes me...dang
It fucks me up every time. I loved Mikio. That guy was on a whole other level. If you play guitar, Ohmura looks better, but those in the know know just how much of a virtuoso Mikio was. He always hit crazy stuff, especially his bends. All time favorite, such a loss.
Yes and I am sure Ohmura and many others knew this too.
Agreed. He had created his own theory, amidst a flood of melody recipes.
The meaning of great is so different from other guitarists.
Stop crying you’re making me cry more 🤘🏽😥😭🤘🏽
Thank you. But I don't watch. I booked a DVD yesterday.
I promise to watch the DVD that arrives next month and then come back.
he is now the starlight
Love your emotional react, you are moved so keep on keep on...
Same here, i got teared up.
Hes playing Mikos guitar I believe 😔
