I just absolutely love your dotting! Thank you so much for the detailed instruction, like what size tools and paint colors. I do seal mine, it give a shine to it. I use a wood deck hardener.
I absolutely love these record tutorials! I did another record tutorial and am obsessed with how it came out! I’m hoping to do this one and a few more, and make a feature wall in my home with them. Keep em coming!
Once again Sue a fabulous piece of your beautiful artwork! Thanks so very much for sharing with us all! I will have to go and try this one as it’s my meditation to keep my mind off chronic pain.. I am really enjoying the record painting 🤗
Thanks Velinda so glad you like it. I too deal with chronic pain and painting helps so much! This record is one of my favorites as I love the colors. Have fun and take care. Sue
Yes goodwill is a great source really any resale shop. I bought mine from an estate sale but garage sales would be good. Or just post on Facebook marketplace asking for old scratched ones people usually will give those away.
Hi Sue. This is a really exquisite piece of art. I reside in Saudi Arabia and I fell in love with mandala painting during the lockdown days. And this art has kept me from going crazy during the lockdown. Your work is beautiful. Will try this next. All the best.
This one is definitely on the to do list! I'm almost done with the one you posted yesterday. I had a round bulb I put hologram glitter in and did the design in all white and I'm going to top dot it with I'm thinking a light blue. I did go start to watch your video of the egg shape but I have glass ornaments so I need to figure out how to mark them out unless you do it first LOL Thank you for another awesome tutorial Ms. Sue....Darla :)
Lol glass eggs? If the topper part is flat (most glass aren’t). You could set it on the table that way and just spin to mark. Other then that I don’t know what to suggest lol
@@SueSloan That's what I was thinking too. Just not sure about the vertical lines. Maybe tape a piece of string/thread because I can't use the push pins like you did. Not sure what else I could do?
@@theharleygirl64 well you could use a tape measure like a seamstress use and fold it over but would be very easy to get off course. I think I’d just estimate and hope it looks decent lol
Sue this is gorgeous!! I absolutely love the colors and design!!!! Definitely will need to try this down the road. ( Wish there were more hours in a day! ) Thanks for another great tutorial of your fantastic work! ❤️
Sue, I love your albums and have done every single one you’ve posted, some even twice! However, I’ve found that if I don’t end up with the same number of dots in a big circle as you do, then the next inner row of dots doesn’t turn out right. Like your darker green row of dots (which I think has 110), then your inner row of mint (which is 72), and then the white (which is 36). I often get all the way around a big circle and find I have an uneven number, which means I have to wipe off the last 19 of them and redo them in an effort to squeeze in 20, so I end up with an even number.
Most of the time, I just try to get a screenshot during a time when you’ve moved your hands out of the way, and then I enlarge the picture and count them that way.
You should be fine as long as you end even I always adjust the last few dots spacing to make sure it’s an even amount. Mainly because if I want to do bigger dots in the next row and skip every other dot I want to make sure I can. So I always count when I’m going around and make sure.. sometimes though it still doesn’t work out and I end up on odd number. If that happens I will usually follow a line on the record and respace them by dividing it out do like top, bottom then sides and divide those etc. hope that makes sense. I do sometimes put how many dots if they are small and I think you can’t see. But people have issues getting the same amount so I stopped putting it to much. It’s more dependent on ending on an even number.
@@SueSloan you live in the next town east of me.. I live in Grantsville.. My facebook friend Karen posted your video on my profile.... She is an artist too. 💜💜💜

I actually have 8 albums up for sale on eBay this being one of them. I enjoy the process of creation it’s my relaxation only have a few pieces displayed in my home. Everything else I give to friends, family, kindness rocks etc. The albums though I love so put them up for 80 if I don’t get that I’ll keep them or give to friends. I have a hard time parting with my art but don’t want my whole house to be covered in mandalas lol
This is my first time seeing a video like this, it is amazing that dots can be so beautiful. But I do have a question, can someone tell me what the numbered discs are for? I was thinking colors, but there were a couple of colors with two numbers?
Tammy Byrd Hi hi. The numbers refer to the size of white DIY dotting tool Sue is using. Follow the link to DIY dotting tools below the video to purchase. If you press the down arrow located on the right hand side below the video you will see links to paint and other supplies. Cheers.
I started this project ages ago but didn’t finish. Today Sue’s video popped up in my feed…I did not know she had passed away! 😢. I can’t remember when I started paining this, I think it was probably a few months ago. (It wasn’t turning out quite right. Not horrible but I miscalculated a couple of dots and the next thing I know, it’s off on a different design completely 😜 I’m really sad to know she had to suffer with that horrible disease. My heart goes out to her husband and all of her family.
Another record that I adore! I’m having a hard time finding the paint colors you use in this one. Amazon is really expensive if they even have the colors. I’ve tried two other websites but they don’t seem to have the colors, either. Suggestions? I hope you are doing well. You are still in my prayers.
A lot of colors I ordered direct from the DecoArt website. Maybe try there they were on sale when I bought them but normal price is cheaper then Amazon. They take longer to arrive though.
