Grian I'm pretty sure why the crops weren't growing is because in old Minecraft just walking on crops would trample them so you walking around the farm was breaking the crops

Just in case anyone is curious, the reason the diamond doesn't drop is because the pickaxe broke on the exact use Grian mined it. This was a bug in earlier versions where the tool wouldn't count towards 'tool requirements' on the use that it broke, and if memory serves would even cause stone to fail to drop cobblestone since it requires a pickaxe to drop anything. My guess for why it happens is that the game checked what tool you had to decide what to drop after the tool had broken, so would count as breaking the block by hand. I remember getting caught by it a few times and being careful not to mine important ores with tools that were about to break. I think it was fixed in roughly beta 1.8, but I could be wrong by several versions in either direction.
I'm still waiting for Scar Life, where Scar starts on red, but with 100 lives. Everyone else starts on 5 lives, but can regain a life if they kill a red, while defending themselves.
I love terraria but realistically that wouldnt work. They would all just die to the regular animals or someone would spawn a boss. Edit: Im getting a lot of people saying things like "thats what it should be like" and I cant reply to all of them so im just going to say it here instead. I dont think it would work because the PVP in terraria isnt very good to keep on the entire time because they will hit each other when trying to do pretty much anything. They would also probably all die of fall damage and some peoples videos would probably end too quickly for them to make a video.

Before Beta 1.6 there was a known bug where diamond ore generation was heavily biased towards positive coordinate values. I can't remember the exact amounts but I'm pretty sure it was basically a -50% chance for diamonds to spawn if either X or Y coordinates were negative, and it was even worse if both were negative. Pretty sure diamonds back then were also less common in general, and it was pretty much equally spread between all levels under y15. I remember Y12 only being the best for strip mining because lava lakes generated at Y10.

Hello Grian! I saw your confusion with the crops and realised I knew your solution! In Beta minecraft just walking over farmland, not jumping will trample it. And to get around this placing fence posts underneath farmland makes them Indestructible. Happy wheat farming!

Not only has more time passed between Evo and now than beginning of Minecraft, but also Grian’s been around for the majority of Hermitcraft-and he’s the 5th newest hermit.
So, old Minecraft had a bug that if you mined something on the last durability of a pickaxe that had a specific pickaxe level requirement (diamond needing iron to drop) it wouldn't recognize that you mined it with iron since it breaks and you don't get the drop. Which is why that diamond disappeared

@JonahJortson To each their own! I started on peaceful with keep inventory, then made new worlds since without cheats. As for the deepslate diamond ore, I'm the same, it hardly ever feels as good as stone diamond ore, it just gets fortuned and hoarded

Hello Grian! I saw your confusion with the crops and realised I knew your solution! In Beta minecraft just walking over farmland, not jumping will trample it. And to get around this placing fence posts underneath farmland makes them Indestructible. Happy wheat farming!

@KnufWons Funnily enough the bug that makes stealth rails work isn't in the game yet. I think it'll come after they fix the bugs with fences, so almost certainly next update.
This drove me crazy to watch, you literally see it breaking under them as Gem and Pearl walk over it, and he just does not notice!

So, old Minecraft had a bug that if you mined something on the last durability of a pickaxe that had a specific pickaxe level requirement (diamond needing iron to drop) it wouldn't recognize that you mined it with iron since it breaks and you don't get the drop. Which is why that diamond disappeared
So if it had no pick level requirement, it didn't glitch?
@siralstarborn1079correct! Stone, for instance, wouldn't disappear if you mined it with the last bit of durability, but diamond or redstone would
