My favorite non-Superblast version: Easy running - Nimbus 😊 Tempo - Magic speed Daily runner - Novablast The nimbus comfort just makes running so easy and enjoyable 😙👌🏻
totally crap the Nimbus 26 if you DON'T run on your heel! I changed fropm heel to forefoot striking and HATE the Nimbus 26 for it! It slaps hard to the ground and so loud, you feel like you are too stupid to run. Nimbus 26 = Walking and heel striking shoe. Forefoot: impossible!
@ I’m a midfoot to forefoot runner and it seems fine. I think it depends on the person really. Could also be a reason why they increased the stack height on the nimbus 27.
Dream rotation; 1) Superblast 2 for long runs (Have you seen the new color way Greyish Purple/Coral Reef??? ,fire!!! Ordered my self a new pair of these :) ) 2) Mach X2 for speed training on longer distance, like 10 miles 3) Mach 6 for daily trainer. I would like to try out the Novablast 5 as I really enjoyed the Novablast 4. Currently using the rebel v4 4 as my daily trainer. It is good, but not as fast as Mach 6 4) Cielo X1 for Race day Marathon
With you on the Cielo X1 …. best marathon shoe out for everyday’ runners. Not the lightest but don’t give a monkeys about that as they’re very comfortable and propulsive. Been using for SLR’s too … they’re like slippers!
Great video Fordy! For me: Novablast 4/5 for daily miles; Superblast for long runs and marathon pace miles; Saucony Speeds for tempo pace, and Endorphin Pro 3 for racing. Never tried the Metaspeeds…how do they compare to the EP3?
I didn’t run my marathon in the Metaspeed Sky + because I heard they’re good for runners with good form. I’m a 4:05:00 runner and when I did my 20 mile long run during the training block, my feet felt too tight. I went with the saucony endorphin pro 4. I love them though for track or even a half marathon
These will be the mainstay for my training block for London but will keep the Metaspeed Sky for race day only. I’ll use my Endorphin Speed 4 and Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3 for the short and longer speed sessions instead.
You warned me last night about watching this and I admit I wish I'd have got the NB5 Saturday with my SB2. However I'll continue to be wise. My ASICS rotation will have to do 😅 Speed/intervals - Noosa 15 Daily - NB3 + NB4 Race day - Metaspeed Sky+ Long run + Manchester - SB2
Great vlog Chris! I love the daily trainers from ASICS. I haven’t tried any of the racing shoes yet. My current 3 rotation is: Saucony speed 4 for most things - Superblast 2 for long runs - Adidas pro 3 for racing and threshold work.
Novablast 4 TR - daily trainer and when weather is bad/muddy. Superblast 2 - for longer runs and when weather is good. Trabuco Max 3 - for trails Wishlist; SB2 in the new wintry darker grey, Trabuco 13 (new ffblast+ foam...finally), Tri Noosa 16...because why not?! 😅
Great rotation very similar to my own, although I also have the tri nosa 16 and absolutely hate it, many rave about it but the fit is off, the ride feels messed up and gave me ankle issues. I now use it to walk the dog.
Daily/Long slow run: NB 1080v14 Speed/Tempo: Saucony Speed 3 also use for long runs with goal pace. Race day: NB SC Elite v4. Planning on retiring my Speed 3 soon, use SC Elite as middle shoe super trainer and upgrading race day shoe to Asics Metaspeed Sky
For me it is currently: Easy/ recovery - ASICS gel nimbus 26 TR (black Friday deals on start fitness using your code so thank you!!) Long - ASICS Superblast 2 Speed Sessions - Adidas Boston 12 My next race (London marathon)- Adidas Adiós Pro 3
@FordyRuns I agree with the video that ASICS are really smashing it at the moment!! I was desperate for a an easy shoe as I was using the Endorphin Speed 3 with about 600 miles on them... The nimbus has changed the game for my training!! Protect the legs and let me push harder on the hard days!! Have a great festive period 😄
I am about to have this exact rotation. Novablast 5 have been ordered. Finally managed to get a pair of superblast 2 ordered. Metaspeed sky Paris I've only worn twice and ran a 10km and half marathon PB in them. I also have the Takumi Sen 10 which I do my fast 10km runs in. I had the Nike Streakfly which are good but they're about to be going in the bin, along with my old Nimbus 24's.
Nimbus 26 and Superblast is what i need. Long runs nimbus is the best. Superblast can do it all. I have sky plus but i didnt try it. I actually bought Superblast for last years Belgrade marathon after watching Fordys videos and asking him a few question. Its awesome shoe.
If I were to get a specific combo it would be this for sure. Mainly because every time I've tried ASICS they've been amazing. Really happy with the Novablast 5 so far. Got a quick 7.5k in and a slow 14k and they feel good. If the SB2 ever comes in stock for me in a nice colour I will pick it up for sure.
great rotation...I can't afford all 3 but have just got new Novablast 5 and then gone get the new Superblast 2 colour way when its avaliable later this month and rotate the 2 for my half marathon training for LLHM next April
- Novablast 5: easy days - Superblast 2: long runs, tempos, hill reps - Metaspeed edge (2 pairs. New for races, old for workouts). threshold intervals, speed work and races
My shoes are all quite different! Slow trundle: NB860 v14 Most things incl. tempo: Asics GT2000-12 Feel-good/tempo/race day: Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 10km race: Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 (stability issues make my ankles hurt fro longer distances than this...) 🙂
GT2000 #12, really? They are hard like a prick, and I couldn't bend the sole with my 90kg/200lbs and EU 46 - totally unrunnable for me. The first shoe i EVER had this feeling. Returned it imediately after the first run. GT2000 #10 is the best. #11 got wieder and harder, #12 even wider and redicolously hard. May have a wood planket as a midsole.
If people have a hard time finding the Superblast I think Novablast 5 will cover everything. I’d get two of them, one for daily one for long runs so they would last me longer then a Metaspeed Edge or Sky as you said for workouts and hill repeats etc and the other for face. So 2 Novablast 5- Metaspeed Edge- Metaspeed Sky rotation.
I tried the Superblast today in a store and they were awesome! Just can’t stomach the £200 price tag so close to Christmas and the new purple/orange colourway wasn’t really speaking to me. Hopefully they bring out some nicer looking colour ways soon…
I finally got my hands on a pair of Superblasts 2 and about 50 miles in and I will say that it's one of the best treadmill shoes but something to be desired on the roads. It's light but kind of slappy and clunky for me. Does it take more time for the FFBlast Turbo+ to soften up or is it just not going to work for me? I figured you're the king of this shoe and could ask you lol
It's great to hear you've tried out the Superblasts 2! They do have a bit of a break-in period, so give them some more miles to see if they soften up for you.
Felt great on the treadmill but like you said slappy, noisy and non-smooth rolling for my forefoot striking gait. Returned my pair of SB2's. Disappointing after all the internet hype around this shoe.
Isn't it this way: Novablast 3 - Dynablast 3 Novablast 4 - Dynablast 4 Novablast 5 - Dynablast 5 Dynablast beeing a Novablast midsole, but more simple (and cheaper) upper and no other "gimmicks", therefore the Dynablast is the lighter budget Novavblast.
Been a dedicated Asics running for easily 10 years. Trained for and ran the London Marathon this year (first marathon) in the Novablast 4 and loved it, just snuck a sub-4hr. Last week I bought 2 x pairs of Novablast 5's, but feel I want to return one of those and get into the world of carbon plates for race day. Really not sure which ones, as Asics have a few different options like the Metaspeed Sky/Edge Paris, or even the Magic Speed. It's all soooo confusing!!!
Put 200 miles on Superblast 2 love it, NB5 arriving soon after many miles in NB3. Trail MetaFuji trail. Race shoe for me has to be Puma DNE 3 absolutely banging combo
Quite surprised you didn’t say Superblast 2, Superblast 2 and another pair of….. you guessed it Superblast 2! Love mine, definitely worth the wait to get hold of them 👍🏻
It sounds like you’ve got a solid lineup of shoes for different surfaces! Have you considered brands like Salomon or Hoka for trail shoes? They might have what you’re looking for!
I’m considering returning the Velocity Nitro 3 for the Novablast 5. I like a more cushioned ride. Only thing is, I’d be sacrificing that Puma Grip. What are your thoughts you on this move?
I've been looking everywhere for the matching socks you featured in your novablast 5 video, but they are nowhere to be found. Could you please drop the link?
@ wants an asics fan always thought Nike was best but from top to bottom I’d say asics is number 1 I have the nova 5 and just bought the magic speed for my speed work and for a race idk which to buy to edge or sky
I am in between sizes since my larger right foot is EU 45,5 or 28,4cm (measured it myself by standing on a piece of paper). In some Asics I got EU 45 (285mm) like in Nimbus 26, Kayano Lite 3, Superblast 1, Fuji Lite 4 ;; in GT2000 and Noosa Tri I definately need EU 46 (290mm) and my Novablast 4 TR are also EU 46, but I didn't try them in EU 45. If I wasn't in between sizes, I would most likely go with one size, my size, true to size! :)
@ yea im good. As someone who crossed over from bodybuilding at 6’1 235lbs I started feeling knee pain on my first run with the NB4. I immediately went back to my Nike Invincible 3s.
Think I missed a trick with the super last. Went for novablast and have nimbus 26 which I am starting to feel as a long run shoe they probably could be half a ton lighter 😂. Went for race day Vaporfly when I got confused over the meta speed options 🫣
My favorite non-Superblast version:
Easy running - Nimbus 😊
Tempo - Magic speed

Morning all. For me: 1 Asics superblast 2. 2- Asics noosa tri 15. 3 - Asics novablast 5. Like to Fordy. Cheers.
nice combo

@@ericperramond3463 chuck a magic speed in there also
Just bought the super blast 2 and the first run in them was wonderful. Will buy again
No surprise. Yes these three are the best!

Asics Nimbus 26
Adidas Adios Boston 12
Adidas Adios Pro 3
Perfect!
Recovery/Long run
Speed/Intervals
Race Day
You warned me last night about watching this and I admit I wish I'd have got the NB5 Saturday with my SB2. However I'll continue to be wise. My ASICS rotation will have to do 😅
Speed/intervals - Noosa 15
Daily - NB3 + NB4

Great vlog Chris! I love the daily trainers from ASICS. I haven’t tried any of the racing shoes yet. My current 3 rotation is: Saucony speed 4 for most things - Superblast 2 for long runs - Adidas pro 3 for racing and threshold work.
Thanks for sharing your rotation! Those choices sound solid. I’m curious to hear how the ASICS racing shoes compare once you give them a try!
Novablast 4 TR - daily trainer and when weather is bad/muddy.
Superblast 2 - for longer runs and when weather is good.
Trabuco Max 3 - for trails
Wishlist; SB2 in the new wintry darker grey, Trabuco 13 (new ffblast+ foam...finally), Tri Noosa 16...because why not?! 😅

Magicspeed 4, Superblast 2, Edge. Marathon training rotation. Swap out when the runs get boring.
Daily/Long slow run: NB 1080v14
Speed/Tempo: Saucony Speed 3 also use for long runs with goal pace.
Race day: NB SC Elite v4.
Planning on retiring my Speed 3 soon, use SC Elite as middle shoe super trainer and upgrading race day shoe to Asics Metaspeed Sky
For me it is currently:
Easy/ recovery - ASICS gel nimbus 26 TR (black Friday deals on start fitness using your code so thank you!!)
Long - ASICS Superblast 2
Speed Sessions - Adidas Boston 12
My next race (London marathon)- Adidas Adiós Pro 3
Awesome lineup! Those ASICS and Adidas shoes are great choices for different training sessions. Wishing you all the best for the London marathon!

Thinking of adding a Novablast for a second daily trainer or another Nimbus.

Novablast 5 have been ordered.

Metaspeed sky Paris I've only worn twice and ran a 10km and half marathon PB in them.

Superblast 2 available on sportsshoes right now. Evo sl was too for about 5 minutes until it sold out
yeah its a joke how quick they sell out

Great strategy! The Novablast 5 is definitely a versatile choice for both daily runs and longer distances. Your rotation sounds like a solid plan!
Get the Novablast 4 TR - even more versatile and stiff enough for those long runs, even as a heavier guy.
I tried the Superblast today in a store and they were awesome! Just can’t stomach the £200 price tag so close to Christmas and the new purple/orange colourway wasn’t really speaking to me. Hopefully they bring out some nicer looking colour ways soon…

prob is
Man.. DB5 is almost exactly the NB3 LE indeed
Isn't it this way:
Novablast 3 - Dynablast 3
Novablast 4 - Dynablast 4
Novablast 5 - Dynablast 5
Dynablast beeing a Novablast midsole, but more simple (and cheaper) upper and no other "gimmicks", therefore the Dynablast is the lighter budget Novavblast.
1.For long comfortable runs
Nimbus 26 even tho 25s seem more comfy
2. Daily Run and training
NOVABLAST 5s
3. Long faster runs race day
Superblast 2
After months of searching, I have finally found a new pair of SB2’s - can’t wait for running in them😀

Biggest problem with asics at the moment you can't get hold of 2 of those shoes in Australia at the moment. Well in my size anyway.
Asics Novablast 4 (picking up the 5 today)
Brooks Hyperion Max 2
Brooks Glycerin Max
Superblast is on my Christmas list. Much more available in U.S.
Just ran a PB 10K in my new Novablast 5
Novablast 4/5 treadmill, Superblast 2 roads and still looking for a "trail" shoe for bad weather.
It sounds like you’ve got a solid lineup of shoes for different surfaces! Have you considered brands like Salomon or Hoka for trail shoes? They might have what you’re looking for!
@@FordyRuns Fordy considers HOKA? What year is it? ;)
Agree! Solid rotation. I just wish they offered SB in wide. I tried on SB 2 in my US 12 it was wider that SB1 but still too snug
unfortunately not
Or make it until UK 13, like for Andy, FOD runner.
Novablast-Superblast and Magic speed because it comes it wide)
Have been pondering buying the Magic Speed to protect my Novablasts for easy days and SB2s for long runs. Thoughts?
Didn’t like it as too firm
I’m considering returning the Velocity Nitro 3 for the Novablast 5. I like a more cushioned ride. Only thing is, I’d be sacrificing that Puma Grip. What are your thoughts you on this move?
Love the Novablasts - shame the other 2 aren’t stocked in my size
superblast 2 in stock
@@FordyRuns unfortunately they aren't made in size 13's...
Great vid as always. Such a shame SB2 is never available
Available right now on runners need👍🏼
today it is
SB2 all sizes on sports shoes now 👍
Looks like they just released a new color in the superblast 2!!
After the livestream yesterday I caved and got the NB5 a day after buying the SB2. Off to sell a kidney now…
I've been looking everywhere for the matching socks you featured in your novablast 5 video, but they are nowhere to be found. Could you please drop the link?
How’s the fit of the Paris compared to the novablast/Superblast ?
Nova then magic speed then your race day shoe
fair enough
@ wants an asics fan always thought Nike was best but from top to bottom I’d say asics is number 1 I have the nova 5 and just bought the magic speed for my speed work and for a race idk which to buy to edge or sky
have you tried this for tempo, fartlek and track workout?
Is this the rotation only for neutral runners? What´s about a rotation for pronation/supination?
I’m normally a 9.5 in running shoes, I went down to size 9 in my Novablast 3, would I do the same in Superblast 2s?
they fit TTS for me
I am in between sizes since my larger right foot is EU 45,5 or 28,4cm (measured it myself by standing on a piece of paper).
SB availability continues to be rough.(Canada)
If you had to have every shoe in your rotation be from the same brand, would it be Asics this year?
If they would just supply in a uk 11.5
NB4 are overrated. I am happy with how the NB5 feels! Way more comfortable and a nice bounce to it. Reminds me of my Nike Invincible 3s
My NB4 TR for ME as a 90kg/200lbs guy are definately NOT overrated! :)
@ yea im good. As someone who crossed over from bodybuilding at 6’1 235lbs I started feeling knee pain on my first run with the NB4. I immediately went back to my Nike Invincible 3s.
Has anyone ever seen a SB or SB2 in a UK14? Or am I constantly searching for no reason?
