65 Segmented Display - Re-upload

- Опубликовано: 26 июн 2023
- This is a re-upload, since I forgot the fact that it can display multiple language characters.
I decided to do a segmented display video, since I've made a 33 segmented display that's unreleased, this 65 segments version is a more better version of 33 segments.
Fun fact: There are 36 893 488 147 419 103 232 possible combinations of a 65 segmented display, more than 33, which is 8 589 934 592. For context, there are 43 252 003 274 489 856 000 Rubik's Cube positions, which is even more than 36 893 488 147 419 103 232.

8 x 8 matrix is the solution
matrix displays suck
Does the job for the most part, but the ネ for example would not be nearly as elegant
@@Argos713So your saying device screens suck? Because they are a matrix display.
That's 64 segments
@@Segmented_Displaysi think that is what he is saying
Very cool. One more segment would cover Esperanto orthography, and I reckon you could cover Hebrew too with very little modification to this design.
Great suggestion! Although the acute and the right dot segment can make the caret and easily can make Esperanto Orthography.

You could remove 4 dots in the middle of every quarter, because they're practically not doing anything
65 is such a messing number because of how binary system works, and 61 fits really well
no, þe opposite. 65 is closer to 64.
@@gabenugget114 it is higher than 64 this is the problem
@@user-cmcumm Exactly. 64 bits are exactly 8 bytes, while 65 bits need 9 bytes to store with 7 out of all 72 bits, almost 10%, going to waste.
If we wanted to cover every single character that ever existed (arabic numerals, english letters, japanese and chinese characters, etc.) how many segments and in what arrangement would we need to make it all work?
Impossible.
surely less than 100x100 matrix, right?
Minimum: 21 segments or is it 22? I don't remember
Saying japanese and chinese fucks the idea. One could make a display for Katakana and Hiragana, but Kanji and Hanzi are composed of thousands of characters each. Sometimes they overlap, but even so, 1000 is too much, isn't?
Just use a matrix or LCD at that point 😐
That display can show launguage letters

Here’s how to do every character ever: infinity by infinity matrix
Same a 161 segment
This is cool but looks complicated enough that I would just opt to making a grid of pixels and call it a day. I would love to see what a combinations of these display would look like when displaying sentences.
Do you know Ъ, Ы and Ь actually have capital forms?
They are very rare to use those in a real sentence, so I didn't include them.
