Wait, how can Rum be identified as Eastern Orthodox Christians? It is clear in the Qur'an that they were "Romans" only. Sheikh you can't just identify them as the Russians like that. In the Wikipedia, it is stated that the Muslims will form an alliance with the ROMAN Christians (Rum). Currently, the largest sect in Christianity is ROMAN CATHOLIC with 1.2 billion followers. Catholic was also christians, so we can call them Roman Christians. Most of them is living in Europe, which once was the Western Romans back at the time. We should interpret the meaning of the Quran and Sunnah literally and take the obvious meanings. and then afterwards try to get to the deeper meaning but without deviation. Wait, how can Rum be identified as Eastern Orthodox Christians? It is clear in the Qur'an that they were "Romans" only. Sheikh you can't just identify them as the Russians like that. In the Wikipedia, it is stated that the Muslims will form an alliance with the ROMAN Christians (Rum). Currently, the largest sect in Christianity is ROMAN CATHOLIC with 1.2 billion followers. Catholic was also christians, so we can call them Roman Christians. Most of them is living in Europe, which once was the Western Romans back at the time. So the RUM here when it was identified as Russia is not clear, it can refer to the Europeans or NATO. That's why the Holy Prophet said that the Muslims will conquer Rome.

We should interpret the meaning of the Quran and Sunnah literally and take the obvious meanings. and then afterwards try to get to the deeper meaning but without deviation.

You need to take what Quran says first. Sheikh Imran Hossein already explained it. This is why we need islamic scholars to interpret because some muslims they will read the hadith and Quran and interpret based on what they understand with their limited knowledge.
