My favourite mashup between Harry Styles and Taylor Swift is their songs Style and Perfect. And since these two songs are 100% about each other, and these songs even have the same tempo, the mashup is beatiful
It’s all just a coincidence. And tbh Harry and Taylor have a lot in common. I’ve always thought of them as the female and male versions of each other
I feel the same way about Florence & Hozier with Aurora being a younger mesh of the two. They just all artistically fit well together.
They came out the same year, 2020, but I think Falling video came out first with Fine Line in February 2020, and then I think Cardigan on Folklore came out toward summer. I would love to see them actually do a mashup of this for her tour or something and a duet for Style since they used to date and are now kinda friends. They would sound sooo good together.
A very amazing mashup of two beautiful videos. Falling is the more passionate song with a tragic ending. In an interview Harry Styles said writing this song was cathartic and helped him to move on from the heartbreak. The video expresses the lyrics perfectly. Taylor Swift's song Cardigan is also about heartbreak and getting over a lost love, but the video creating a fairy tale world is so strong it takes over the song. Also the video certainly looks like a response to the Falling video. For me there is a contrast between their response to heartbreak in the videos. What I love about the Mashup is that at the end of Cardigan, Taylor Swift rescues herself and comforts herself by putting on the Cardigan. And the Mashup creator takes shots of Harry from the beginning of the Falling video and puts them at the end, so he is 'rescued' also. Both characters in the two videos will go on despite their sorrow. It's enjoyable to see this interaction between two wonderful artists! P.S. I liked your comments about the sound of the songs. It is remarkable that the songs themselves fit so well together, and also the visuals.
You are great reactors. Cardigan is from Folklore (before Evermore), 1st single of that album (during the pandemic). Love those metaphors (se sense of almost drowning/storm) and the piano/music as lifeline. Great mashup, so well done. Falling Harry Styles video: released 19 Feb 2020. Cardigan video Taylor Swift, released 24 July 2020 (pandemic came in the middle) and the album Folklore was released by surprise that same day, it took less than 3 months (the pandemic caused the Lover tour to being cancelled, she went home, at some point started writing to Dessner, recording, doing the photos... the rest is history. The video was scripted, recorded, etc... also during those "less than 3 months").
You're ryt the MV goes hand in hand so well ... If i didn't know better i would have thought this was a single song sung as a duet and a single MV and not a mash up of two different music videos.

Taylor has written songs and recorded them and then put them on an album that came out a couple months later so it’s possible. As far as people saying, they have long moved on, the song question on midnights is definitely about Harry. It even references out of the woods, which everyone knows about him.

React to Harry singing the song written by him that he gave to Ariana Grande 'Just A Little Bit Of Your Heart', in this one he opens up a lot too.. I think a lot of the songs that show too much about him, he decides not to sing, sells either it just doesn't release, or it only performs occasionally.

I've always thought Cardigan and the video were directed at Harry. I say your theory is spot on. It's more obvious if you watch the videos separately, back to back with their history in mind.
I've reached that same conclusion, maybe not *directed* at Harry, but inspired by their time together, even "Betty" fits with James being 17. There are a lot more clues to this if you really dig through their past, but I try to not talk about it to be respectful to Joe, lol.
I agree that it's a fantastic mashup exposing how uncanny the videos are in their similarities (but I wouldn't listen again either) with *alllllll* the "theories" out there this was also probably the least likely given the time that has passed since "Haylor" was an *actual* thing, other than seeing the great support recently at the Grammy's. A true collab, however, would be kinda cool.
oh boy. This elder Swiftie/Harrie can tell you that loves come back to you when you least expect it with stories about how/why they gave up. When it is three decades and they still haven't acknowledged all of this, then we can forget about it, but even then. . .and from my own experience. I think the younguns just don't understand how strong feelings can last and last. 😎

Taylor would have heard Falling by the time she made her Folklore album. That said I don’t think it’s an actual response. But her love triangle on Folklore with James and Betty was undoubtedly influenced by her years of experience. Not saying it’s about H at all but those dynamics come through in many of her songs thematically.

Falling is not about taylor so I don't think she actually responded to harrys song . A lot of people are saying she got the inspiration from the music video harry made. You guys have made any other reactors seem boring to me so I really hope you keep going with the harry reactions .

ya the similarities are definitely uncanny as you said but falling is actually about camille rowe, i believe he's even said so himself before (a good majority of fine line is about camille), it's a nice overlap of the mvs tho
Harry has never said Falling was about Camille. The only thing he will confirm about FL the album is that it was her voice on the mv. You are assuming that the album is about her.

This one has a scene of the two of them together, a great video for you to react and see a little more of both (but then react to Style on the outside too, so you can focus more on the lyrics). They were beautiful together, a shame that because they were so public they suffered with the weight of the world on their shoulders. There's a song Taylor wrote about them where she talks about how much the media has broken them both.

@@threeangels9318 I don't think it's possible to write almost a whole album (1989) and a few other songs here and there (like Question? from Midnights) about someone who was just a PR stunt. Especially if you know Taylor, she is always outspoken and sincere about how she really feels.
