- Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a common disease. This disease occurs when bacteria enter our urinary tract through the urethra and begin to spread and multiply inside the bladder. In today's video we will know how UTI happens in children. What should be done to avoid this? and how children this disease is diagnosed and treated.

Namaste sir my baby girl child is 4 yrs old and her urine culture report showing positive UTI having organism of E-COLI and colony count more than 100000 cfu / ml but no PUS cells from last 3 months. Her urine routine and kub usg reports are normal. She does not having severe symptoms of uti except some time little pain after passing urine, but it is very rare like once in 4 to 5 days and pain is for few second only and sometimes her both legs are paining. Sir pls tell me what to do and sir will you pls explain us exact method for sample collection of urine of pediatrics by which we will get reliable urine culture report. Thank you sir..
From your history it doesnt look like your child has UTI. Looks like urine sample is contaminated. You need to clean the urinary area first and catch a mid stream sample. You can ask your local doctor as explaining like this is not possible.
Sir can entamoeba histolytica cause uti infection?... I.e bladder infection like cystitis?

Hello ji, if both the reports are abnormal then your child needs to treated for those abnormalities because if you dont get the problem corrected then it can lead to further UTIs and kidney damage.

Is squatting a good option for females for public toilets? I kinda scare using public toilets which are generally in horrible conditions, always try not to drink water while i go out, any possible ways to prevent getting uti while using public washrooms 😭

Sorry to hear that you have to face such a problem. I agree that our public toilets are very unhygienic.
And i can understand your apprehension to use it because of that. But not drinking water before going out and not using toilets would harm you in the long run.
For the answers for your question-
1) Yes, squatting is an option as it reduces the contact with the toilet thus reducing chances of UTI.
2) But there are other hygienic options also available like
1. A toilet seat sanitiser which we can use before using the toilet.
2. A toilet seat cover
3. A stand and pee urination device which is made especially for women so that they dont have to sit on public toilets.
All are freely available in the market and should make your journey comfortable.
