This is easily one of my favorite reactions to this album. Like everyone can enjoy the album, but I really appreciate when people embrace the album as a whole and understand what’s going on inside of it 🖤
The convo after ‘here we go againˋ was so interesting. That thought about death being scary but once you go through it and move through it, it can be freeing and liberating..I could say the same thing about having disappointments in love or break ups. They’re the scariest and worst at the beginning but once you work through them and let go of things you can come out freer and stronger and hopefully into better things

this album needs to be listened to after watching Blue Velvet, Number 23, Starry Eyes, The Truman Show, Southbound (for that radio reference) Videodrome, Taxi Driver and Eyes Wide Shut, Abel is a known cinemaphile and he incorporates a lot of movies into his albums, you'll have such a better understanding of this movie after watching those movies
Also on the second half of the album I feel that essentially as he is “getting closer to the light” he’s experiencing the other side of the coin. Things that he has done and trying to get right. Hes now the one questioning if “..there’s someone else”. Now he’s not wanting to be put in a situation to hurt and be hurt by someone. Near the end he denies someone because it would be giving into the toxic love that he has provided Which in turn shows growth and transformation. “Less Than Zero” is his acceptance. That last release of letting go of the toxicity while still remaining accountable since he knows she tried her best with him and ultimately he’s the reason.
