I bought DayZ and Frostline together 2 days after the expansion launched. Saw a lot of good opinions on it in videos from creators I trusted. Played on Sakhal for my first ever map. Absolutely loved the experience. Totally worth it.
Honestly, I was genuinely excited to see people's reactions to it when I played it. The map was so hyped it could have easily flopped =| talk about pressure xD
@@kashiro2492the game is designed to be too much. So you don't need to worry about it, you just need to laugh off the misery. Sakhal is harder to explore as a beginner but that just makes success sweeter. The requirement of making fires in houses actually makes it more likely someone will teach you.
I was initially upset with the price, but then I bit the bullet and bought it. At the end of the day, snowy alpine is my favorite environment, survival is my favorite mechanic, and DayZ is my favorite multiplayer game. It’s a no brainer for any true survivor.
yeah im also going to buy that dlc in the future. sakhal map up the difficulty when trying surviving forcing players to choose more armor vs more warmth also seen the hostile wildlife are upped in that map i also wish they up infected so it feels like harder to use guns in town other map became boring and it just became a pvp server i do wish infected are trippled in game so infected still post a threat to geared players.like project zomboid, if you shoot a guy zeds attracted to gun shoots and will go to that sound, i also do wish infected have a ability to destroy doors/open if hit enough .
Except that game breaking bugs like hand bugs don't get fixed in Day Z for going on 7 years now. Wolf sounds don't always register due to a bug, that's been in since the day wolves were added, several years ago, I think that's what pisses people off. Charging money for new content, when they refuse to fix content that was ALREADY PAID FOR. The games that you mentioned above respect their customers enough NOT to do that. They also force you to use Battle Eye, a root kit kernel level of access anti cheat, that doesn't stop cheating. Basically, the same hackers that are hacking Battle Eye, are also able to hack your PC. You can't even opt out of using Battle Eye. Not even if you want to play the game offline, on your PC.
@@Davivd2 No denial, bug-ridden since day one, and then the first standalone was a straight port of the arma2 mod, but it was well worth the money the amazing times I have had playing the game
@@jamieduffy4506 I had fun with it for years. Even when it was buggier. I haven't played in almost 2 years though. Battle Eye was a deal breaker. So was the new knock out system. Shoot someone in the head with a .22 and they are fine. Shoot someone in the foot with a Mosin and they are knocked out. Unrealistic and unfun.
I bought livonia and then they gave it away for free a month or 2 later. The price of frostline was steep aswell. Amazing map and update overall. Loving it and ive only done pve roleplay stuff so far lmao. Very happy but i am bitter and feel a bit duped by the prices.
I personally like the way Bohemia did it. They added all the amazing expansion stuff for free, while giving players the option to buy a new map or not. PC folks are now getting a better gameplay experience on ALL maps, while its being funded mostly by Console Players buying the Frostline DLC. Why would PC'ers complain about that?
Dayz is a 10 year old game, Which it gets updated 4 times a year. With some of them updates are massive. The way I see it is sakhal is payment for continuous support. The game isn't flooded with micro transactions, granted tho I would like the A.I. and cheaters to be looked at. In the end, I bought the add on straight away and really enjoyed it and I'm not pissed of about having to pay that price for it as long as the support keeps happening.

Review bombers arent dissatisfied with frostline's price but rather development priorities and where these money goes. I have over hundreds of games and same amount if not double of dlcs, i never feel bad when i dont like the game but i see a soul behind it. BI for years already make their work as cheap as possible and milking games as much as they can. DayZ is very profitable game for BI yet BI has very small amount of developers. They have to use reused assets from other BI games and feed us very small reused content updates once in a while. When they begin to milk playerbase with dlcs then the community will have a question to the company where the money goes if developer team just import already created assets, use mod devs as a side workforce that work almost for free and developer team itself is very small for such a profitable and big game. Thumbs down for this(i want to believe) unintentional strawmaning caused by the lack of research and the will to make a hype video on the topic
Arma 3 apex dlc. Which is literally this map. Is 24.99. This dlc with a map that isn’t even new. 1 vehicle and a couple items is 26.99. Arma 3 apex DLC came with a completely new map. Tons of weapons and clothes. Tons of vehicles and even a campaign with it. For 24.99. This doesn’t make any sense. AT BEST. AT BEST. Sakhal is worth 10. MAYBE 15. But when you compare it directly to what it came from it’s ABSURD. But even besides that sakhal sucks anyways I wouldn’t buy it regardless. It’s so small and has no sense of purpose that it’s basically useless. And they took so much out of it from Tanoa that it’s basically uninteresting.
The reviews are completely justified. DayZ costs $49.99 new and comes with only 2 maps, and this is the first official map we have gotten in 5 years, sold for nearly 30 dollars. also don't forget that Livonia, the only other official map besides Cherno, was also sold as an overpriced DLC. At least then they gave a discount to those who had bought it in Arma 3; They should have offered that same discount this time considering Sakhal is essentially a reskin of Tanoa. The frustration is not specific to Frostline, it is with BI in general. They are dropping the ball across the board. Arma Reforger has had a painstakingly slow development, yet they are not afraid to announce that they are nearly doubling its price despite it not even being finished yet, quality control for the Arma 3 CDLC program has been absolutely nonexistent, allowing blatant asset rips like CSLA Iron Curtain to be still sold (Recent CDLCs are effectively just paid mods BTW), and Arma 4 will essentially just be a re release of Reforger that we probably wont see until 2028. Regarding DayZ, the game has been out for 11 years. In that time, we have gotten only 2 new maps, one of them a straight port of an existing map in another game. There are many features the game desperately needs like an AI overhaul, better anti cheat, and a better melee system (ETC.) that get endlessly delayed. Bohemia loves to blow past deadlines, drop promised features, and then pat themselves on the back for all their hard work. Furthermore, Bohemia barely, if ever, communicates with us about the state of development for any of their games. This is a major issue and we absolutely need to hold them accountable because they absolutely can make great games, its just that they are being slow, non communicative, and at worst lazy - (I will not spoil the parts of the map for those who still want to experience them, but there were areas that should have had way more to them). When I look at the effort and attention to detail that went into completely free maps like Namalsk, it makes me realize that Bohemia is asking too much for something that does not offer me enough. Hold them accountable, don't simp for them. also at 6:25 that is totally fair, and I don't see how that is at all unkind. you forget that the devs made promises to the community and a lot of people actually bought the game based off those promises. BI gets away with a lot because they make good games, but the frustration eventually grows to a boiling point if we don't hold them to their word.
In my opinion, Frostline is worth its price for one of many reasons: After 600 hours of DayZ playtime, it's the only map (and only time) on which I actually found a friendly player. I saved his life, and we had a fun run together. Also, it's a challenging map with a lot of possibilities. May not be perfect (make footwraps stealthy again!!!!), but it's still a fun map. And yes, I still don't kill on site. I'm a friendly player, and I will (sometimes literally 😄) die on that hill.
That should be on some merch 😂 make them stealthy again. The whole situation caught me off guard. I'm like 500h into frostline and loving it personally
I have a motto. If I can offer my help 10 times and I die 9 of those times but the last one was genuinely grateful, it's worth it. DayZ is hard enough as it is without loot goblins seeing you as a walking legendary chest.
U didn't rly give a solid reason for Frontline being a good map. If after 600 hours ur just finding ur first player there's something wrong. I only have 100 & have met many. Two of which I went so far to get their number & we talk sometimes. Just told them happy Thanksgiving today. Idk how people encounter bad ppl all the time. Frontline is over priced that's just facts. $40 for a half ass map when the game is $50. It's not an opinion it's just facts
@@sealofakatosh they clearly said in 600 hours on overall game time, sakhal was the only map where they found a FRIENDLY player. Learn to read before you try and correct someone only to make yourself look like a fool 😂 EVERYTHING you said is literally, BY DEFINITION opinion and not fact. 🤦♂️ your logic is essentially “I have less playtime on the game and met some great people, but everyone that has hundreds or even thousands of hours is wrong when they talk about dayz KOS problems, because of my anecdotal experience. Idk how people who play this game 10x more than me can have bad experiences” 🤣that’s not how “facts” work bro
It's 20 bucks, that's very reasonable for how much work and detail the developers put into this map. I bought the DLC and I don't even use it. I just wanted to support DayZ and the developers. To help a little more I'm going to leave a positive review now. Happy gaming and See y'all in cherno Dawgs!
1. It's 27$ 2. It's a price like 1-3 another GAMES in my country. 3. Review Bombing is NOT ABOUT PRICE, please check the original publication\video about this and stop posting fake news in comments. 4. I love Dayz. But DEV's looks like not do this.
40 bucks for a low effort cash grab map, literally a reskin of tanoa. People really defending this lazy company. They haven't fixed known bugs, vehicles or even started the ai update they promised. Bohemia is just milking every penny from the dayz player base.
yep it’s why i stopped playing and i’ve been playing since mod and 2013 when SA released, they ban you if you criticize them on twitch, the new map is missing guns like the vss and asval, a lot of the buildings aren’t built correctly and this map is literally a reskin of tanoa
Frostline was worth every penny I paid IMO. Those that say there were no changes with 1.26 either haven’t played DayZ before and after, don’t pay attention, have an agenda, or just suck at the game. If you don’t like the game that is fine, but don’t say dumb stuff that isn’t true about it. Just say you don’t like it.
Got to admit, I didn't buy Frostline due to financial reason.... That said, it is not because I have any gripe about the price or content. It is because just before Yuletide is not the time for me to go buying DLCs for myself. Will I buy it next year?....Probably, It's always nice to have extra maps to play on...
It’s catch 22 if you charge people £25 they are going to expect some beefy content but those same people don’t understand that it’s a work in progress we will get more content and releases let’s face it the PC Dayz crowd have been spoiled for years and years now with modders seems the majority of the console community seem really happy with it. Personally I LOVE Sakal it’s a great step forward and my £25 was an investment in Bohemia to push on. Shit the games free on gamepass the amount of free fun I’ve had out this game I’d happily give them my money for all there hard work
Yeah...I feel some of the cost issues. I'm a PhD student, I don't make a lot of money. Spend most of my money on my PC (for school and play). I waitlisted and preordered Frostline for $26.99. I don't even play Official servers. I bought Frostline so I could see what the community does with it, and they didn't disappoint. Considering the time I put into DayZ, especially in the winter...I think $27 was a steal. IMHO, Bohemia is one of the fairest studios out there. Heading over to Steam now to leave a positive review.
i guess any complaints i could muster would be that these frostline developments are just really late delivery on many promised features from 2014 and rather than honor the early investors of standalone and livonia, i gotta pay for the changes i was promised on the investment, but are just now delivering a decade late? the frostline portion to me, is just an update that is due for dayz sa... the only thing they should charge for is maps. also fun to hear YOU tell people not to be influenced by other people and then go on to attempt influence.
Yeah dead ass these people will pay for a monthly battle pass subscription plus $90 for the new CoD title which is just some reskinned guns and maps with no new game modes, a game that will be mostly abandoned less than 6 years into its life span. Then complain about DayZ a game thats a unique experience thats still getting support with 4 major updates a year who's total cost with DLC is less than any new AAA title youll pick up off the market. This community honestly never fails to disappoint me.
I'm playing the game right now I love it, but you ass kissing a little. It's 10yr old and we got charged 27$ USD for that map thats too much imo. It's on game pass that has boosted numbers big time and we still get lack luster updates imo like boat's wow id rather have a base you cant glitch into or get trapped by a zombie in a corner fully geared and lose everything because I can't shoot or hit. Engine needs replaced and updated animations all need reworked, the base building needs to be actual base building and let us dig our own bunker in the middle of the woods as a solo maybe you could have a base 2 day's. I heard they were working on a sequel so I hope they take all the great ideas the modders have came up with this past 10yr years and make a new game with a completely new engine not the robot arrma engine because it's time. Fix the server's wtf I can't even drive a car without lagging and crashing it at 15MPH ITS A JOKE. I've bought the game 2 time's and all the dlc 2 time's I fully support them but it's time to step it up or pass it along to someone that will. Love the videos I've watched all ur stuff.
How about instead of making a new map thats boarderline already another modded map while giving us nothing new that isnt already in modded servers, they fix the game, give it animations, etc etc. people probably wouldnt be as pissed
They deserve negative reviews with how insane the hacking situation is with this game. Its worse than tarkov i cant believe this product is even allowed to be sold.
DayZ is one of the few games the doesn't have some kind of marketplace or battlepass. For a game that still gets updates and new content I'm happy to give them my $26 for the new map.
Uhm, there was a comment from the content creator that started the review-bombing campaign, explaining the reasons to do it, it was a large post with 150 likes, where did it go? Did it start a drama or something? Or was it just deleted ?
I'll copy and paste what I said to someone else =] "I had no issue with the original comment (the first one was caught in spam, not deleted). My concern was with the commenters harassing my subscribers, which is against RUclips's Terms of Service and entirely unnecessary. As a result, I’ve started hiding users who engage in such behaviour from the channel. Everyone is welcome to express their opinions or views-they will never be removed. If a comment gets caught in spam, I will approve it as soon as I see it. That said, there are exceptions: comments containing harassment, links, or self-promotion will always be removed. In this case, his comment was followed by others harassing subscribers, and he also self-promoted his channel. These actions are not acceptable. If he wishes to comment again without engaging in these behaviours, I won’t take any action against the comment. I'm more than accepting of differing views, and I would have liked the opportunity to reply to the comment and open a discussion, but I never got the chance because there were already too many moving parts at that point."
It's important to remember this game is made by a very small group of people; people that started this game from modding another game. People complaining have individually spent thousands of hours in the game and, though passionate and ARE the demographic that deserve to be heard, are asking a whole lot of extra out of a small crew that's given much of their game away for cheap/free for many years. We're not being scammed, we're being asked to make the developer's passions a viable job for as long as possible.
if they put digital locks and better base building in the update console players would have showered them in money and praise. Pc players already have all that stuff and more they are always going to have a hard time selling dlc on pc that already has way more maps and features than vanilla.
I play on console so I know indont have the same options as PC players but, DayZ is one of the games I always come back to and still have fun. Sakhal is my favorite map so far. Great video thanks for sticking up for Bohemia.
Absolutely worth the money. I paid for Livonia too and was not bothered in the slightest when it was released in the core game. Frostline is probably the best update to ever happen in DayZ. Great video dude, hope it shows the game in a better light.🎉👍
Dayz is my favorite game. But I feel like it could be much much better. I can think of many things they could add to make it better. But with time im sure it'll get better.
They have a feedback tracker. If you have things you would like to suggest. They're actually very attentive when it comes to the tracker and do take the feedback and suggestions seriously.
Officially released almost 6 years ago…5 years of early access before that…11 years in existence… …but yeah, just needs a little more time to get better 😂
@@activatewindows nah I mean ur right & I've complained about it before. Been out forever & on official it STILL hasn't had much of an upgrade. You can watch Limonade ATTC channel and read requirements to Bohemia from Russian community. Not only price is bad in this release. And, for example, DLC gives only the map for 20 dollars, other features already included in standard edition. It means that there is nothing for this price in DLC.
Bohemia used a more “cheap” work from mod-developers+ used a map Tanoa from arma 3 expansion, and selling for this price ( I bought frostline when in was released, if what) plus the temperature functionality with frozen food was already at Namalsk. Review bombing is not JUST about dlc price, and about a “content” that Bohemia was adding in a years… a looot of “new” guns are just ported from arma/old dayz - and developers showing this re-used content like something new and builded from the ground. Such more can be added into the game, but developers are lazy and greedy to do something more then adding some new sound for cooking or adding 1 new gun.
I agree with the review bombing. I bought the DLC was bored of it in two days. Not to mention I bought the Livonia DLC and then they give it to everyone for free 🤬
Review bombing is never okay. If you're unhappy with it, leave a negative review. But organising a hate campaign to try and ruin something for others is very low.
@@AlwaysStreams Wasn't it low to release a raw card? I've already played quite a lot on the frostline, and I can say that there is clearly a lot missing there, for example, a chemical zone, why are there PO-X charges in the game that you can shoot with, but there are no gas masks to defend yourself with?
@NCrdwlf EXACTLY I'm just Glad it was that cheap. Any other Games would've doubled that price for a Freaking Skin, but we got a whole Entire Map that has NEW weather, New Temperature, Clothing, Assets, & Boats. Not to mention they even Revamped some areas just for a more covered/trashed Look. 🤷🤝
@@NCrdwlf good luck overpaying for reskinned map from other game with bad points of interest and even without dynamic events instead of asking BUGemia when they will fix their ugly anti cheat, exploits and other bugs
Shameless asset flip. All they did was add a couple animals and adjust parameters. An art student could have done this update over a week or two. The new map doesn’t really have many new assets at all. It’s super lazy. Super super super lazy.
That is a good point. The DLC is them testing the waters, if it's successful, we'll probably see a lot more. They've already committed to a further 10 years of development, that could be lots more content, maybe even a sequel if the community really push for it. They want to give the community what they want, it helps them as a business and keeps players happy.
Sakhal is empty for 27$. They just added a few clothes and map! Temperature mechanics, boats and animals were also added to all maps. They presented only a little bunker to new maps. There are no events, like hellicrush or convoys. So don't tell us what they did! They do not respect the community, every update is just adding gun and clothes. Look behind! The only update with chemical zones was good.
I thought it was a fair price for what we got....my only complaint is the reduction in carry space is quite ridiculous. You don't even have enough space to haul the NBC gear to the gas zone.
I love DayZ and I feel that they listen and interact with the community. And am glad to support them . Think of EVERY OTHER company and how pay walls are swallowing up the industry...........and I know Bohemia does this with other games but this is not and I love that . They put in the work to give me a great game that I've played for like 10 YEARS so they deserve some compensation.....
The price was not the problem for me the problem is see a lot a easy great ideas to be add to the game. but we will not come in to the game because of some else already making a mod for it on pc so will hold the game back in what they can add. And a next gen version would be great as well 👍
Elite Dangerous should be review bombed, cause they are not giving what people have been asking for since 2014. Dayz map is a bit high, however I am seeing that BI just now made it more flexible to modify if you put up your own server. IT'S MORE CONFIGURABLE! The latest patch is a push, a good deal what you pay for. Because if you don't like something about the game well...thers a mod for that.
Worst improvement so far is reduced inventory. Take an issue & make it worse doesn't seem like a great decision. Good way to push regular players away from Official Servers to Modded. Let alone the toxicity & cheating that is still rampant on Offical servers.
Just say you suck at the game and can't handle the hardcore realness of official... I hope you know you can't carry a fully put together weapon in your pocket in real life.. if anything they made it more realistic you're just mad you can't survive on official 😂😂😂
@kevinmichael7563 How delusional are you? It's a game. There's nothing real about it. I can play the game & survive no issue. When I want a more realistic game, I turn off my computer. It's ok for you to come out of your parents basement once & awhile you know. Try it.
These are the same kids that can’t walk by a Starbucks without dropping a 20 . Even if it kinda sucked I wouldn’t cry over the money . But it doesn’t suck … petty little kids .
Honestly I feel like dayz being mostly free is a double edged sword. It's the only game I've ever played that I can spend thousands of hours playing. That being said dayz is a very flawed game with bugs ,weak Ai, lack of poi, character resistance and cars omg the cars. If they would implement something where the devs can make some money to do the things needed to make the awesome game the greatest game it'd be better for everyone in the long run. If gta6 comes out before the community requests are met it's probably going to send dayz back to the coast for good.
You cant play DayZ as a solo without a mic. Dont even try. Every server will haunt you and gang up on you. Streamers from the U.K. own this game with their multi-tier communications platforms and are the reason for the hatred in the community. You can have your game. This is why i stopped playing. Console players get crapped on by @$$holes on a daily basis.
I find it suspicious that nearly every comment is praising frostline. Also 700 negative reviews is hardly review bombing, it could just be that players are disappointed with the dlc especially on pc. Don't forget they've had proper base building, code locks, extra vehicles. helicopters and even furniture crafting for years thanks to modders. Bohemia "look rabbits!......why are we getting negative reviews?"
@@AlwaysStreams it over 20 to 1 in favor right now with 350 comments. The statement bohemia put out about running a live service game and not getting paid for it is problematic. It's their business model, they chose to try and run a live service game on sparse dlc content. there is no financial reason for bohemia to update old maps or add features. If they were to bring in a subscription model for asceses to "seasonal servers" with hand crafted weather events, new and evolving events, traders etc (very easy to do) some extra base building features etc. they would make more money and make the game better in the process. imagine having weekly tweets from bohemia with "thunderstorm are predicted this weekend". "helicrashes are on industrial rooftops this week. "A bunker has been discovered on chernaurus." etc etc.
Always Stream - or whatever your name is, your joke at the beginning of every video is my favourite thing about DayZ. No slight on the game itself, but your jokes are a meta like cherry on top for continuing to learn and play this game.
I have this simple formula that works in majority of cases with games I've bought, if I spend 1 hour for each $ of the game's price and come back wanting more then it's money well spent, if I spend 2 hours per $ than it's a great game (obviously this rule doesn't work with many more of a linear/story based games, specifically the ones that are shorter or don't provide that much replay value). I've spent WAY more hours in this game than I should, specifically on Sakhal, it's a blast and even though I'm like really far from being financially secure it's still one of the best purchases ever when it comes to games, the only thing that tops this one so far is Baldur's Gate 3.
Been hearing good things about BG3. Definitely trying that next year somewhere. I'm mostly playing DayZ and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 at the moment. I have a huge backlog as well, bit will definitely try it.
Bought Frostline twice: on pc which I play on mostly but also on xbox toplay with my xbox friends. I'm not mad about Livonia going free. I bought it a while ago and got value from my purchase in the form of hundreds if not thousands of hours and made awesome friends with people I met on Livonia.
Games and developers should all be scrutinized especially with how long they take to progress this game DLC is cool but after a few days of making fires you just wanna go back to normal games Review bomb is just a vauge term to take away accountability from the devs and putting it on the reviewers Comics and movies producers already been through this
when you get good insulation you dont need to make fires all the time, and there are at least 2 or 3 alternative ways to warm up quick or while moving. Sakhal is a map that requires time and patience, but is fun af
@@TerrivelDayz point is it’s a crappy map compared to bamalsk like I said it’s a cool map but the devs took way to long and now it’s almost obsolete when comparing to community maps
I'm usually the type of person to cheap out on anything, but just knowing how many hours I would get out of this map, the price tag felt like nothing to me.
I don't have steam but I'd definitely leave a positive review. I paid for Livonia before it was included in base game and I got frostline for 27 bucks on ps4 but some people are never satisfied... I enjoy the game and I hope they make the changes necessary to improve the quality of the game and give players what they want. But it doesn't deserve the backlash it's receiving and definitely shows where the player base is at mentally lol there's lots of games to play but I keep coming back to DayZ. It took time to adapt to this new map and weather but I'm having the most fun I've had in my almost 1k hours.
"I hope they make the changes necessary to improve the quality of the game and give players what they want" For many years, players have been asking to fix bugs that move from patch to patch. Don't you think that for so many years it was possible to make a game from scratch, on a new engine and with much more interesting content?
I love Frostline. There is so much new terrain, places to explore, challenges to survival, etc. I'm quite enjoying it and have found the $26 price quite acceptable.
its like people with 1000s of hours in the game, go on the review page and tell people not to buy it, pay three more time that for sky/cable tv and watch under 100 hours a month, crazy
I mean a lot of the negative reviews are on point. The map is over priced, less content, OG arma map and stripped down etc etc. Most of the reviews talks about how they are disappointed and i disagree with you on "you get a lot from it" no you don't. It's not an excuse to put out a half-baked map and then for people to wait at least 1-2 years for much content to be added. I got it for free from the streamer even, but i feel for people who bought it thinking they would get something at least decent. We don't live in 2013 anymore, putting half-baked content should NEVER been let go easily anymore in my opinion. People seem to get upset that the product they put out, and people don't like it for very obvious reasons, should play that stupid victim card. I think the devs and bohemia should own up to their mistakes and if anyone who isn't honest it's mostly the people who suck up to them which is a shame. "Honestly" are just words throwing around, but people don't act honest themselves when it comes to supporting the map (in most cases i've seen)
But that’s the issue isn’t it. The feeling of whether or not this map comes across as "half-baked" ultimately depends on individual opinion. However, it’s important to recognise that this map, apart from the landscape (which has also been altered), was essentially built from the ground up. This wasn’t the work of a AAA company-they had to hire new people and subcontract additional work to meet deadlines. They’ve overhauled core systems to make this map functional, something no other company has done for a DLC. They’ve rebalanced the entire game, revamped loot mechanics, introduced new features, created over 400 new assets, completely reworked all sound design, added new mechanics, and much more. All of this was developed specifically for the DLC, and while much of it was included in the accompanying expansion update, its full potential can only be realised with the new map. This DLC is ONLY a new map. They never promised anything else. They promised a new map, and released said new map. They even had streamers play it for 2 weeks so no one was caught off guard by what they were paying for. I just don’t think most people’s expectations are realistic or consider the size of BI and how that impacts what they can achieve. This isn’t just a DLC; they’ve fundamentally changed the entire game to enhance the experience, and I personally love that. There’s simply too much effort and innovation here for me to agree with the notion that it’s "half-baked."
When frostline came out, it was 44 dollars AUD, I'm Australian. It was worth every penny, and I would have paid more if I had to. The work and dedication of the development teams make it worth it. They are worth every penny. Thank you for frostline ❤
0:15 dude, jokes not aside, so I live in America, I’m sure you can find out where, but there’s a Walmart where I live that was recently on the national news. Someone wore a walk in oven as a hat And so many rumors are being spread about a guy she was friendly with. It’s coming out by employees who know better that the oven itself couldn’t possible close on her. It has an anti close buffer. So you’d have to find a way to pull the door closed from inside. This was completely glossed over and shown by employees hey! The door doesn’t just swing closed, even with a overly aggressive shove to close it, it hits the air buffer and comes to a stop while clearly open still and not sealed. People are saying this dude got away with it. So many people are saying this guy was involved with her and he was a jealous guy. Super random.. but your oven joke took me places mentally.. having kids if so scary.. if that was my daughter. Brother would be a bone knife.
This game is very old, and to start in very expensive 50 usd, It has picking up in the later years and I'm happy for them but I don't agree with they keep charging for it. I wouldn't write a negative review on Steam. But they are squizing and killing the community. And yes you sound Bias!
I returned and found frostline a really good DLC no idea why some fools want to give a negative review. The weather adds another level of survivability. totally enjoying it
I don't think the price is to much. But the DLC of Sakhal feels incomplete. Like it was rushed to meet investors' agreement on a deadline for release. You can't compare it to maps available on PC (I am console player.) Remember Livonia was very much incomplete on release. It is now finished and a great DLC. (My favorite) I am not aware of another game that continues to update as long as DayZ has. Pretty astonishing if you ask me. I was pretty disappointed in the release too but I expected too much of it in the beginning it cost a lot of money to develop an app in new features lots of people are involved in it that's a lot of paychecks to cover was all be patient given some time and I'm sure the map will be finished up just like Livonia was. As far as being blackmailed... karma is a bitch.
Frostline is a really shitty DLC for $28. Its not even as good as various free maps made by singular people. Then they couple it with updates they remove weapons from the teeny tiny weapon pool of the game and you have a recipe for bad reviews. Bohemia still hasn't even added all the weapons removed in 0.63 update back into the game and they're taking weapons off certain maps right now. Bohemia deserves this.
I bought both my boys Frostline when it came out and one really enjoys it, the other thinks its just ok. I refrained from buying it until I formed an opinion and ultimately did not end up buying it. I really do like all the details to the map and updates to the game but I dont want to play on a small map that herds players to choke points. What would make me happy is putting all those maps together in one map and giving us more room to play, not less.
As much as I love this map I really wish they'd expand on base building. Just taking blocking doors or a stairwell would be nice but a custom underground lair would take the cake
I can agree with you on that. Or the option to build on slopes instead of flat surfaces only. I've just started my first base building after 722 hrs. I like to roam free but can certainly see the appeal of a base.
DayZ content creators keep the new players coming. So many streamers getting into DayZ because of what you can make there. Frostline is obviously a nod to the modding community. Its basically a base map with vast scope for mods and official updates. This will be lost on the "dominate the server" crowd but who cares about them anyway.
Wait, what was the blackmail? Did i miss something? I dont mind paying for the map, but after playing it and seeing how terribly unbalanced it is, how empty the mid map and outer islands are, a majority of the guns being left out, and duping STILL running wild even on sakhal, i am very dissapointed and regret giving them my money. Not to mention the terrible decicions they made removing guns from livonia making it less attractive to play. It honestly seems like they thought "ok Livonia is free now, how do we stop people from playing it and get them to buy sakhal instead" No decision they made makes any sense. And dont give me that "lore" bullshit or "trying to differentiate the maps from each ther" crap. What make the maps different from each other is THE MAP. not the guns. It also feels like this map was just a cash grab to pump more funds into Arma4. As a streamer said a few days ago "They released a roadmap for Arma4, but after a successful sale of Sakhal why havnt they given Dayz a road map. Its because their pumping all their money into Arma4. I buy Dayz DLC to support Dayz, not their other project. Feels like a scam
Price is not bad. Map is good. Content is what you make it, as always in DayZ. Streamers cry for changes that benefit there stream numbers but not the game.
Great value for money. DAYZ is kind of a niche game. People who complain about the price are probably lemming players that we don’t want in the game. Quickscope types. Leaving a positive review.
If you've put over 300 hours into this game, you've already gotten your money's worth and the DLC is less than most other games with expansion pack prices. People who complain about this are either just broke af, have never actually played the game itself, or the most common symptom which is skill issue. As a long time player, I'm happy to buy it and contribute to Bohemia making more in the future.
My only issue with the new update is that they removed guns from certain maps. Not having tundra and Ak74 in Livonia makes it so much worse for non duper vanilla players. Also the lack of guns on Sakhal is a bit annoying. No Lar Aug Sval is lame
Been grinding Dayz since the start myself, only play Official servers hitting over 10,058 hours myself, still in love with this game. I don't understand what's negative about this as it's only a Map release, lol? THE BIGGEST, OUTSTANDING, UNDERLINING ISSUE I.M.O. is the base building aspects of the game. They need to implement changes/update base building aspects for official. Been f*cking waiting too longggggggggggggggggg
I don’t understand these people. Some seem to prefer to download a game for free just to pay for silly lootboxes which give you pink assault weapons. I bought Frostline a few days after release and find it very challenging. I love the Dayz and want to support the devs with this contribution. For the price, in today’s world if you go and get menu meal at the restaurant with the big M u pay 💰 already 20 Bucks depending on were you live. So for the hours of fun I think it is a good value.
Sometimes you just can’t make everyone happy. Code locks for consoles 😂. I have not played the other maps on console since release. Been to busy making fires 🔥
What even happened? Frostbite was such a huge think anticipated so much and loved, now people are complaining about the price? Its sickening that people use something so ridiculous to review bomp the DLC because their mad about the price, its not even game related. After DayZs history and constant game update over the years and never abandoned, everyone should be happy there is any kind of new official update regardless of the price, if you dont like it, just dont get it!
Currently rated 3.7 on PS Store - can't remember what it was pre-frostline but i doubt its moved much negatively, PS users don't go down that kind of road in my experience.
ok, the only thing i have an issue with on this new DLC, is that the heat mechanic is bleeding over into the other maps. like i'll be fully clothed with the worst insulation, but 1 piece is medium, and im fuckin over heating...
I’d rather pay $60 for a DLC, if it means supporting the development of DayZ 2. I think every DayZ vet wants to see the game on a new engine more than anything.
@@Woody2Times Not often because I mainly do community servers. Had to report once on community, but for the most part they’re on top of it. Official servers on the other hand 👀
Some of us had to buy both lavonia and Sakhal. I wasn’t thrilled about buying another map but they fixed added a lot. Maybe they will make more vanilla maps for their game in the future.
I really think people are playing Sakhal incorrectly. There are multiple different playstyles available on the map and people (especially streamers) only show one look of the map. Basically they can’t afford to go slow without losing viewers so they never leave the main island to force interaction. There is so much more to playing like a pirate, hanging out on the peninsula, controlling choke points, etc. just wandering around the volcano looking for pvp gets dull fast.
I bought Frostline, it was "OK", and stopped playing after my nth hacker death. I didn't give it a neg review, but the original game still has a neg review due to the hacker issue, which has never really been addressed. Dayz could be an amazing game, what I saw during the streamer only stage was epic...sadly us plebs face the hacker hoard and the experience plummets.
Honestly? I like the new assets. I'm not OTT with Sakhal BUT, it is a new official map, that in itself is good. Is it worth the money? Not as a map no, are the assets worth it? Not alone no, together? Yes it's worth the money to me. I don't agree with the way BI have acted lately and I'm sure it'll hurt their pockets at some point BUT (again) it's their business and they can do with it what the heck they like. I can't speak about the community or the streamer community because I am a part of both. I try to stay in my lane and avoid drama. I think you're all pretty cool peeps.
Well said about cost being subjective. If you have disposable income, you can afford to buy a DLC. But for people who are living paycheque to paycheque, or on benefits, or have a family, it can be a choice between being able to turn the gas on today or play a new map
Haven’t bought Frostline yet. I’m not a fan of the update and how it’s impacted servers. Nearly all servers are full and you spend 80% of your time wringing clothes, making fires, and eating. Meanwhile most places are looted and clans run around grabbing everything up. Not our groups play style , some of us don’t like constant pvp especially if you run solo a lot so its you against a group.
U don't think it's to much for a beginner? Trying to convince my friend to get it
@Vazkiel man I couldn't imagine starting my first run on Sakahl. Nice brother! I'm barely making it through Chernarus! 🤣
The snow is almost more managable than rain bro lmao@@kashiro2492
@@kashiro2492the game is designed to be too much. So you don't need to worry about it, you just need to laugh off the misery. Sakhal is harder to explore as a beginner but that just makes success sweeter.
The requirement of making fires in houses actually makes it more likely someone will teach you.
I was initially upset with the price, but then I bit the bullet and bought it. At the end of the day, snowy alpine is my favorite environment, survival is my favorite mechanic, and DayZ is my favorite multiplayer game. It’s a no brainer for any true survivor.
yeah im also going to buy that dlc in the future.
sakhal map up the difficulty when trying surviving forcing players to choose more armor vs more warmth
also seen the hostile wildlife are upped in that map
i also wish they up infected so it feels like harder to use guns in town
other map became boring and it just became a pvp server i do wish infected are trippled in game so infected still post a threat to geared players.like project zomboid, if you shoot a guy zeds attracted to gun shoots and will go to that sound, i also do wish infected have a ability to destroy doors/open if hit enough .
11 years for 29.99 and people complain about this, then go opening crates on CS and paying their EvE/WOW sub every month
Not even if you want to play the game offline, on your PC.
facts!!
U wouldnt have ur console shit if not for the pc side funding it for more than a decade.

@@DavidPrObooMBerwtf is your problem? Console and PC players are benefiting off each other at this point. You sound like a female dog

If you cant afford it, better work than play games...
True 😂
Okay sniperwolf
I really like the Frostline. Cheater issue on PC could use addressing but i'm a console dweller so my opinion doesn't matter.
Same lol our opinion matters tho
Trust you’d rather play console than encounter hackers 😂😂😂 Xbox and proud and now I play MnK
Ain't reading that wall.

Man, what changes are you talking about in 1.26??
Got to admit, I didn't buy Frostline due to financial reason....
That said, it is not because I have any gripe about the price or content. It is because just before Yuletide is not the time for me to go buying DLCs for myself.
Will I buy it next year?....Probably, It's always nice to have extra maps to play on...
Almost didn't buy it myself but it's honestly a more difficult map to survive on
It’s catch 22 if you charge people £25 they are going to expect some beefy content but those same people don’t understand that it’s a work in progress we will get more content and releases let’s face it the PC Dayz crowd have been spoiled for years and years now with modders seems the majority of the console community seem really happy with it.
Kind of shocked that this is happening, and you inspired me to write positive steam review
Oh great! I hope it helps to even things out!
i guess any complaints i could muster would be that these frostline developments are just really late delivery on many promised features from 2014 and rather than honor the early investors of standalone and livonia, i gotta pay for the changes i was promised on the investment, but are just now delivering a decade late?
the frostline portion to me, is just an update that is due for dayz sa... the only thing they should charge for is maps.
also fun to hear YOU tell people not to be influenced by other people and then go on to attempt influence.
Worth the price it's not that expensive when you consider a new game is roughly $70

U must know, that DayZ gave to Bahemia more money than Arma 3! So why are there only 20 developers? Because they don't respect DayZ community

if they put digital locks and better base building in the update console players would have showered them in money and praise. Pc players already have all that stuff and more they are always going to have a hard time selling dlc on pc that already has way more maps and features than vanilla.

Thank you! And yeah, we got a lot with Frostline.
Officially released almost 6 years ago…5 years of early access before that…11 years in existence…
…but yeah, just needs a little more time to get better 😂

@@AlwaysStreams I'll definitely check that out!
Most of the people who complain about the price are the same folks paying $8 for an expresso every single day. Give me a damn break !
Make them extend the render distance for grass
I agree with the review bombing. I bought the DLC was bored of it in two days. Not to mention I bought the Livonia DLC and then they give it to everyone for free 🤬
🤣🤣
Free on gamepass
Review bombing is never okay. If you're unhappy with it, leave a negative review. But organising a hate campaign to try and ruin something for others is very low.
@@AlwaysStreams Wasn't it low to release a raw card? I've already played quite a lot on the frostline, and I can say that there is clearly a lot missing there, for example, a chemical zone, why are there PO-X charges in the game that you can shoot with, but there are no gas masks to defend yourself with?
you should have a cry about it
20$ and people are being this Critical about the DLC... Just Ungrateful‼️
I can’t believe how many people cry about 30 freaking dollars . It’s literally nothing .

I will say it was pretty expensive for a dlc but it was we worth the price
Shameless asset flip. All they did was add a couple animals and adjust parameters. An art student could have done this update over a week or two. The new map doesn’t really have many new assets at all. It’s super lazy. Super super super lazy.
if they arnt making money from DAYZ , who is going to pay the devs wages , the game will just stop
That is a good point. The DLC is them testing the waters, if it's successful, we'll probably see a lot more. They've already committed to a further 10 years of development, that could be lots more content, maybe even a sequel if the community really push for it. They want to give the community what they want, it helps them as a business and keeps players happy.
I tell people this ALL the time
and so would any hopes of a DayZ 2
Sakhal is empty for 27$. They just added a few clothes and map! Temperature mechanics, boats and animals were also added to all maps. They presented only a little bunker to new maps. There are no events, like hellicrush or convoys. So don't tell us what they did! They do not respect the community, every update is just adding gun and clothes. Look behind! The only update with chemical zones was good.
No devs respect their community. Arrogance, avarice and stupidity prevail.
I thought it was a fair price for what we got....my only complaint is the reduction in carry space is quite ridiculous. You don't even have enough space to haul the NBC gear to the gas zone.
You do? You can literally find bags that have 50+ slots. Plus a jacket of 24/30 slots, trousers that are 20/24 slots
That's lots of room.
@@societyisscaredofmasculine8546 New players make this game to easy.

😂😂😂 everyone loves paying $30 for an old asset flip. All these dayz fans would pay $30 for a dayz employee to dump on their chest
The price was not the problem for me the problem is see a lot a easy great ideas to be add to the game. but we will not come in to the game because of some else already making a mod for it on pc so will hold the game back in what they can add. And a next gen version would be great as well 👍
If you don't like it, don't buy it. He said it best
I don't think they are. I see a lot of negative ones.

Games and developers should all be scrutinized especially with how long they take to progress this game
DLC is cool but after a few days of making fires you just wanna go back to normal games
Review bomb is just a vauge term to take away accountability from the devs and putting it on the reviewers
Comics and movies producers already been through this

I don't have steam but I'd definitely leave a positive review. I paid for Livonia before it was included in base game and I got frostline for 27 bucks on ps4 but some people are never satisfied... I enjoy the game and I hope they make the changes necessary to improve the quality of the game and give players what they want. But it doesn't deserve the backlash it's receiving and definitely shows where the player base is at mentally lol there's lots of games to play but I keep coming back to DayZ. It took time to adapt to this new map and weather but I'm having the most fun I've had in my almost 1k hours.
"I hope they make the changes necessary to improve the quality of the game and give players what they want"
For many years, players have been asking to fix bugs that move from patch to patch. Don't you think that for so many years it was possible to make a game from scratch, on a new engine and with much more interesting content?
I love Frostline. There is so much new terrain, places to explore, challenges to survival, etc. I'm quite enjoying it and have found the $26 price quite acceptable.
Sakal is a piece of art in DayZ 😊
its like people with 1000s of hours in the game, go on the review page and tell people not to buy it, pay three more time that for sky/cable tv and watch under 100 hours a month, crazy
Someone wore a walk in oven as a hat
And so many rumors are being spread about a guy she was friendly with.

I don't know why people are so mad about the price but they went ahead and got it anyways
Because it's not the price that makes people Mad, it's the recycled content that they got for that price.
I returned and found frostline a really good DLC no idea why some fools want to give a negative review.
The weather adds another level of survivability. totally enjoying it
"How the hell did you get in here?"LMAO,Kutgw
I don't think the price is to much. But the DLC of Sakhal feels incomplete. Like it was rushed to meet investors' agreement on a deadline for release.
You can't compare it to maps available on PC (I am console player.)
Remember Livonia was very much incomplete on release. It is now finished and a great DLC. (My favorite)
I am not aware of another game that continues to update as long as DayZ has.
Frostline was worth Every Cent imo 🤷🏻♂️
explain your position
Frostline is a really shitty DLC for $28. Its not even as good as various free maps made by singular people. Then they couple it with updates they remove weapons from the teeny tiny weapon pool of the game and you have a recipe for bad reviews. Bohemia still hasn't even added all the weapons removed in 0.63 update back into the game and they're taking weapons off certain maps right now. Bohemia deserves this.
Tint weapon pool? The game has to many weapons
GG DUDE GET GOOD😂
It’s a survival game not a COD walking sim. Some people just don’t get that 🤷♂️
I bought both my boys Frostline when it came out and one really enjoys it, the other thinks its just ok. I refrained from buying it until I formed an opinion and ultimately did not end up buying it. I really do like all the details to the map and updates to the game but I dont want to play on a small map that herds players to choke points. What would make me happy is putting all those maps together in one map and giving us more room to play, not less.
Вы не поняли нас. Проблема не в цене. Проблема в том, что мы хотим развития игры. Dayz отличная игра, она нам нравится. Но нет ничего нового.
New codelocks would be nice at the very least
It honestly seems like they thought "ok Livonia is free now, how do we stop people from playing it and get them to buy sakhal instead"
No decision they made makes any sense.
"Play with the kids...make sure theyre yours" hahahahaha mate that one got me
Currently rated 3.7 on PS Store - can't remember what it was pre-frostline but i doubt its moved much negatively, PS users don't go down that kind of road in my experience.
ok, the only thing i have an issue with on this new DLC, is that the heat mechanic is bleeding over into the other maps. like i'll be fully clothed with the worst insulation, but 1 piece is medium, and im fuckin over heating...
I’d rather pay $60 for a DLC, if it means supporting the development of DayZ 2. I think every DayZ vet wants to see the game on a new engine more than anything.

Dayz got review “bombed” on day 1 because it was broken and now they just can’t get it to a reasonable number
Yeah, I think it's easy to miss that.
If you have enough money, then you can afford to buy a box of shit. If you can't buy a box of shit, then you need to work harder. genius
