Yaay you're one of my top top top guitarists here on you tube. I also used your tabs to learn to play the guitar a bit. You're awesome! :D ps: I don't see any ugly mugs on the video O_o

This looks like a joy to play with the Kabuki classic steady rhythm. Thanks for the upload!

Woah that is some seriously good playing!! It sounds like you’re playing to a backing track or like there are two guitars playing, thanks for sharing !

That's kabukibear for ya. One of my favorites of his is Radical Dreamers from Chrono Cross.

@@charlesfong7495 yeah for sure! that was one of the first fingerstyle songs I learned along with reminiscence from suikoden 2, but he’s got lots of other good ones too. I also like the gameboy mario songs he tabbed out on gametabs

wow this sounds so good, are you editing your playing for youtube? I know your older videos you used to just play it in one take which tbh is a lot of work and kind of insane for classic arrangements like this. idc either way just curios pretty much every fingstyle player does that on youtube now as far as im aware. either way this is so awesome.

EDIT: Sorry for the incoming novel! There's no better way to get me yapping than to get me talking about myself. XD
Generally not, not for lack of trying, but more that I really have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to audio editing. It's one of the reasons the sound quality on my videos is all over the place. I probably should take the time to really learn it and understand what I'm doing, but you know what they say about old dogs.
I will occasionally, if it's like one or two stupid/minor errors that are an easy fix in an otherwise clean performance. Any more than that, though, and I will just start over. It's one of the reasons why I don't record myself live much anymore and one of the reasons I've NEVER liked recording myself.
Performing and recording has always been EXTREMELY stressful to me, especially when you know if you mess it up, you're going to stop and start again. I have anxiety issues to begin with, and the nerves really start to get to you the further you get into a good performance. I can't tell you how many times I'd get near the end of a piece, and the stress would have built to the point that my hands would be shaking so much that I'd make a mistake.
It really made me dislike recording, but it was a necessary evil. I wanted people to be able to hear how the arrangements were supposed to sound so they could learn them and had no other way to do it. But it's definitely the reason I never pursued a career performing; I just don't have the constitution for it. I get far, FAR more enjoyment arranging the music for others to play than I ever have playing them myself. It's why I studied music composition in college, versus being a performance major, even though I was there on a performance scholarship.
Back then, I had the time to spend 5 hours and hundreds of takes to get a perfect performance. (A lot of these took something like 400+ attempts) I just don't have that kind of time (or energy) anymore. So, the live recordings are rarer.
Funny story with this one, I ALMOST lost this recording. One of my fingers totally gave out on me, mid-performance. Luckily, I was holding the note down just barely enough for it to still sound and recover, but it about gave me heart attack. Watch my left hand and see if you can spot when it happens! XD

@@kabukibear No i completely understand, kinda why I bring it up in the first place. Playing these 100% correctly in one take is like, so insanely hard to do with some of these pieces, I'd say its neigh impossible due to the nature of fingerstyle guitar, which to me, makes some of these recordings even more impressive.
Honestly in a way reminds me of playing guitar hero / rock band going for 100% on the stupid hard songs and like you know you havent fucked up 75%% through and the pressure starts building, or you get to that one tricky part that always gets you hahaha.
But by all means novel away, love the insights
