10:16 "Now we know what it feels to be a simple levy" -- Surreal. I laughed my heart off. Surreal, I smell a great series coming. Just gradually let Agrippa rise in ranks to greatness. Keep series more about Agrippa than campaign.
Please play more of the role in the army you are set in. example: sergeant says shield wall, you from up and shield wall. Sergeant says to charge, you charge with the group. If you're an archer you shoot when told or free fire when told and you stand where you're told to stand. Don't run around aimlessly looking at things. You aren't the commander anymore. You are a solider. Let us fully experience that role with you. We already know what its like to have you run around, destroy soldiers and control the battle. We haven't seen the true grit of the front lines yet. This is going to be an amazing series regardless! Super stoked! Thank you so much for blessing my eyes with this!
Okay, if you want me to fully experience the role with you, I'll spend most of my time unconscious on the battlefield. You have to reconcile the fact that the AI is BAD at commanding and it's why first waves are ALL dead. If you want me to really experience the game like a braindead AI, I'll quit the campaign after being 'killed' once. It's just not reasonable at all and it wouldn't be fun for me or for you as a viewer.
@@SurrealBeliefs I agree the AI are bad and the fact that the first waves end up dead. I think the rest is a matter of perspective. I think both are doable. Freelancer mod needs to be in the native game hands down. It's such a good mod and the developer is constantly adding more to it and what not. Plus with the realistic combat mod makes it that much better, only issue is the last few men who never retreat chasing them down for an hour.
Starting off as a regular soldier has always been one of my favorite starts in any game. It’s why I love Chronicles of the Black Company so much, that view of one tiny cog in a vast machine is just so cool. Thank you for trying this start. For beginning goals I would say just don’t die. Obviously this is more common sense, but if you’re playing a character that has been found brotherhood with his fellow soldiers a good starter goal would be to rise in the ranks far enough where you are not only providing tactical support but also keeping everyone else alive. Midterm goals I’m not so sure about, but if this play through goes anything similar to how real life Agrippa did then you’ll be best friends with the current/future Emperor. Hell, I’ll be amazed if your first companion becomes the emperor, that would be hilarious. But if a superior makes a choice that your character considers is more hurting the Empire, than he would consider removing his superior and taking his place.
Fantastic comment! I'm glad you told me to not die -- I get that it's cool to march with the guys, but the AI isn't great at commanding and I'd be dead if I stayed with them the entire time.
For the glory of Rome! Let the empire begin to truly thrive once more. Through blood, sweat, and perseverance. There shall be no quarter to the barbarians! No mercy to those who would see Rome undone!.
Was going to post a joking comment about being a dishonourable roman fleeing from the melee...but...that throw was cash money. That boi turned his head for a whole second and you ruined his whole career, 10/10. Excited for this series.
This video was super cool. The point blank javelin duel was like a tv show or something. Interesting to see you play as just a soldier. Excited to see more

I just love how in the middle of the battle of Crotors, two soldiers thought in the middle of the field flanked by each of the armies they belonged to. Looked and sounds like something from a myth of an old battle.
Aurelian, Restitutor Orbis, started out as a lowly legionary. His mother had been a former slave, yet he rose to be one of the greatest emperors Rome had ever seen, bringing the empire back from the absolute brink of collapse. Anything is possible with this character.
The AI commander is kinda smart in the middle of the video because he lined everyone up on the hill in a line while the enemy pushed in a tight group and he ended up encircling them with that single charge
