I'm sure others have said this but I must echo, having your children work alongside and learn weather girls or boys is GREAT! My girls are in their 30's now [I'm no farmer] but I taught them all I could about power tools shovels and gardening while they were growing up.
Good job, I have a feed bin like that also, I think the same one. I just had to clean it out due to the dry molasses caking up on the inside. It got wet one time while filling it. It works well though.
It might be able to hold more than 500 pounds. 500 bushels sounds about right 250. bushels in each panel. And Depending on the type of grain you're using each bushel could weigh in between 35 to 60 pounds.
Maybe a dumb question, from a non farmer: what's the reason for not setting this up on a timer, and routing the chute directly to the goats feeding container, in order to remove the need for the internal feeding storage bin and manual labor?
Not for us, but that might have to do with many factors like how long it takes to empty it, is the grain in it whole or crushed, sugars added like molasses wet or dry etc....

I'd put a (big) flat washer between your anchor bold and the flange, to better prevent tear-out.

We are looking at these for our grain storage. Any issues with grain getting moldy?
