Which version are you using ? In koala 2024 version, empty activity template doesn't show any language option.
Late reply. select "Empty views activity" which should show which language u can pick. i had the same issue when selecting "empty activity"

If you want only portrait, You can restrict the orientation in AndroidManifest.xml.
Inside Login acvitity add
android:screenOrientation="portrait"

They need to learn from programming basics on console, not creating applications from get go by just copy pasting exactly what you wrote and having no clue what they wrote.
The 'Simple Login App' title was chosen to introduce beginners to Android UI, sort of like a stepping stone before going into coding complexities. I totally understand the importance of programming basics but thats not what i teach in this channel.
This tutorial is more for people with a programming background looking to start Android development, focusing on understanding XML. It's just one piece of the learning puzzle.
Also, the video doesn't encourages copy-pasting, but highlights we need to follow a learning-by-doing approach.
So let people learn and Let's help each other learn in the best way possible! ❤️
