Just got back from a few days in Delaware where I celebrated my birthday there for the fourth year in a row. I'm very fortunate to have such great friends to share my day with. Some of you may have read about hypodermic needles and tampons washing up on the shores of beaches in Delaware and Maryland. Fortunately, I didn't encounter any of that. The weather was great, I ate some delicious seafood, drank some great Dogfish Head beer and got some exercise. But the time and laughs shared with my friends were the best parts. Peace to all. Bill from Brooklyn, NY, now 61 years young.
Good tribute to Olaf Kubler Dereck! Old favourites, Amon Duul 2 . Yeti and Utopia both of which i first heard soon after they were first released. Also Can i discovered around the same time, 1972. I saw Can 7 times live between 1973-77. Amazing. Still appreciate 50 years on....best wishes and yes us mature guys need to keep moving!
I agree with you Joseph, 100%. Dereck is a true musicologist, with a vast knowledge of the art. I am 70 years young, and have been with Dereck's channel since 2014 and still I am learning from his vast wealth of knowledge. I especially like how Dereck weaves in Social Commentary into his love of music. It makes for a thrilling half hour of enjoyment. Stay safe and go well sir.
I really appreciate learning about bands I didn’t know about. I wish I would stay close to you so we could chat while taking a good hot coffee. Well, at least, I prepare my cup and when you say cheers on line, I raise my cup to you too !!! Peace to you Dereck !!
Hi Bernard, I have been doing just that every time I view Dereck's video feeds since 2014. I thought I knew music, and I do, but Dereck beats me hands down, were about the same age, I am 70 and I think Dereck is 69 years young. A true Musicologist is Dereck, without the pretention's. The racks of Albums behind him and his vast knowledge of the Art, prove that. Lovely posting to you Bernard. Stay safe and go well sir.
Hello Dereck, I've been watching today.... great, as usual. I saw the Amon Düül 2 in Germany at the period of that album. You show so many albums we never saw over here.... no limits in discovering in music...
Good Afternoon Dereck From Brisbane Australia, Again thank you for a very informative video feed. I have the Amon Dull II albums you showed. I also have a wonderful CD of their work called "Amon Dull II The UA Years: 1969-1974". My copy is on Gold CD and it sounds fantastic. I am still amazed how good music still sounds great after 45 years. Telling you nothing new there. Love your Vertigo T-Shirt, made me go and dig-out some vertigo albums that I have. Played "Suck It and See" a Vertigo Compilation that you possibly have, "Baker Gurvits Army" and a Vertigo CD Comp called :Time Machine". Vertigo has to be one of my favorite Label's and possibly one of your as well. Always love what you do and say. Don't stop. Stay safe and go well.
Hi Dereck, what a lovely copy of Yeti… that’s a fantastic album. I always think it looks like Julian Cope on the front cover. He must of got his look from there. I’ve got some Amon Düül, but not a copy of Yeti. My wife is German and we go over to visit family once a year, so I always hope I find it. There’s always great stuff that I’ve not heard on the Brain label or on Bellaphon. Wendie and Bonnie looks very interesting. Great video, Jack
Hi Richard, I love the Vertigo Label. They signed Artists to their Roster that other label's rejected. So glad they did. 90% of what Vertigo produced still sounds like it was recorded today. If your into CD's there is a nice three CD box set released in 2005 called "Time Machine" that I can highly recommend. Wish another comp such as that were released, but sadly no. However I do own twenty five Vertigo albums on vinyl that are pristine and happy to have. Like Dereck I have been collecting vinyl for close to fifty years now. And yes you are right, "Gentle Giant" are a Vertigo Band. I have "Octopus", "Acquiring The Taste", "The Power and The Glory" and "Interview", which is possibly their last good outing on Vertigo. Sadly, It's one of the better Label's that now belong to Universal Music. Lovely posting to you, stay safe and go well.
Glad that like me you enjoy walking. It's the safest and most effective form of exercise. As for all the political cringe theatre out there, my advice is always OBSERVE BUT DO NOT ABSORB.
Hey Dereck, Just a quick Hello. Left a comment yesterday, it disappeared again, sent it again, same result. I want to see if this one sticks. Take care Dereck
I’m really getting into my RAF No Salvation. I’m telling my friends about it but can you tell me what RAF stands for? And when I tell them about you do I refer to you as Dereck Higgins or Dereck Von?

Thank you for the cds, Interlude and The muse, fantastic! Also, if you don’t know the art of Centrozoon, check it out. I think you would like it
@jeffwaterman4855 I know the band, have Markus Reuter in my collection.
Hey Unc, still planning on going out there. A little difficult for it to be this month, will keep you posted!
Please do!
RIP Tito Jackson! Very sad today from William and Bill...
Vertigo label...that was Gentle Giants label, and many more bands, if I'm not mistaken?😮

I have no idea why it is happening.

Thanks for asking. Refer to me by my name Dereck Higgins. RAF stands for Really Are Fucked.
@@dereckvon ok Thank you!
