Enjoyed the movie, but Omnimedia?!? Guy is a total tool.. hope this doesn’t become habit. I unsubscribed from the guy for a reason. Hate that he’s chasing me here…
Bautista is perfect casting because you need someone who is intimidating physically but when they begin to speak, they calm you down. Because Bautista truly is in real life a gentle giant (same with Momoa)
Spoilers for the book if anyone plans on reading it. So for the most part it’s fairly similar to the movie but a few key things were changed. One of the biggest changes (and I think for the better / less depressing) is that when Andrew and Leonard are on the ground struggling with the gun it accidentally goes off and shoots Wen dead. Not even kidding it’s incredibly depressing. However it doesn’t count as the sacrifice because they didn’t willingly choose to kill her. Wen died for nothing in the book and I’m not a fan of that tbh. Another change is that Leonard wasn’t the last one alive out of the 4 invaders, Sabrina kills him as the second last sacrifice. So Sabrina is the last alive and helps the two men find the truck they left. The last big difference is that Eric wants Andrew to kill him at the end but he refuses. The book ends with the two men waiting for whatever may come, whether it’s the actual apocalypse or not. I honestly preferred the movie ending but I hope this helps 👍

Along with the 4 horsemen thing i also kinda got a savior/messiah image from Eric and a "punisher" image from Andrew. Also Bautista's acting was really great too, he really sold the gentle giant character who has to do something that he really doesnt want to. This was a very good M. Night movie
@@DR.DisInfect A lot of the final act really. But to me the parts that hit the hardest are when Andrew went to get Wen and she asked "did daddy eric save everyone". And Eric and Andrew's discussion about what to do after all of the horsemen died. Eric's peace of mind, understanding, and willingness to sacrifice in order to save others. Being clashed with Andrew's pure love for his family and anger at humanity. Top this with the scene where andrew and wen are older and enjoying life, giving andrew the resolve to do it, made my tears swell a bit.
As a Bostonian, I have to say... my boyfriend and I agreed, Rupert Grint KILLED IT with the Boston accent. PERFECT! Now mind you, he's... not a good character... but he was easily our favorite. He really transformed into such a villain & how scared he was too ... wow. We think he's not getting enough credit for his performance. It takes a lot to embody such a complete asshole like that. The writing and acting in this made this movie for me. I was on the fence about it cause I fully believed the apocalypse was ahppening because early on I was like "Oh! They're the Horsemen!" but I was going back and forth on was it a setup and they're just suicidal? But how the Horsemen's story, and the couple's acting were just SO good.

Yo!! How is Dave Bautista giving master classes in Acting in his roles lately. I loved, and hear me out. The TWIST in this movie is that the stuff they said were going to happen were actually happening..
This was a pretty nifty thriller. Had plenty of Shyamalan's expected odd dialogue/performances here and there, but this was a very solid intriguing film.
This film was absolutely amazing I was a bit worried as a huge fan of Paul Tremblay the author of this book and a head full of ghosts which is also being made into a film. Really looking forward to that movie next after how well this turned out
Havent seen this, always thought Dave was a better athlete actor than the rest so im eager to watch with yall. Shyamalamadingdong is one of my favorite directors
Honestly a well acted, pretty thrilling/suspenseful movie. Love the mental "Is it real or not?" game is plays with you JUST wish they showed the 4 strangers being connected in a flashback some point or had met the couple prior for it to feel a little more connected
Yeah I agree, though they did do that with Redman, which doubled as giving a connection and also fueling the doubt of whether this is real or not. I like to think they all were connected to the couple, they just don't remember the other three.
I really enjoyed this movie! But I wonder how the movie had been received if it went with the book ending. I agree though that there could have been a tiny bit more clouding around if the apocalypse was/wasn’t happening. I also agree that I think there may have been more reception to it if M Night’s name wasn’t attached for the reasons mentioned. I definitely think this is one of his better movies!
That is what I thought. When I watched this movie it kind of reminded me of the happening. Both films are kind of on par when it comes to power of story telling. Yes I do agree that the happening isn't great but it has it's moments and so does this movie. I also waited for some kind of twist at the end and was slightly dissapointed there was none. Dave Bautista was brilliant in it.
I mean, the movie goes hard. you can question some of the acting choices, but the premise and how some of the scenes are executed (no pun intended) are actually really good.
I cried genuine tears hearing Dave Bautista about how much he cares about his children. Seeing the framed picture he had of his class in the car with their little notes for him got me the most. He just wanted to protect his kids. Phenomenal acting from him.
I feel like Eric lied to Andrew because he was seeing all of these things, seeing the plague, the planes, the storm and he knew that if anyone was strong enough to continue moving forward, it was Andrew. I don't think he actually saw anything in the light, I think he just wanted to protect his family, save his family, and his sacrifice was one of both selfishness and selflessness. Selfish because it was about saving his husband and daughter, not about the world, and selfless because he's the kind of person who would do anything for his family, give anything. Eric and Andrew were the perfect mix of strength and hope, of fear and worry when it comes to the unknown and I loved that. They created a beautiful, empathetic, loving daughter who Eric knew would grow to be something amazing, especially because Andrew would be there to be her strength. Bautista did a phenomenal job in his portrayal of Leonard. A gentle, soft spoken giant who truly believed with everything he was that he was doing the right thing.
It was confirmed that Eric did indeed see a figure, and the figure was god or some sorta deity. The deity was showing Eric what Andrew and Wen would grow up to be to comfort him.
The great actor is the bad guy in frozen and the bad guy in Hamilton. (George III) Jonathan Groff. He is good ar everything The book is quite ambiguous and sadder. I am okay with both versions
I'll be honest. One of the only things this movie was missing was a scene where, after everyone breaks in, and ties everyone up, and it gets all criminal-y... one of the perps gets into an argument with their captives, and they're like "Do I really look like the kind of person who'd DO something like this?!", and one of the parents is like, "YES!!" ...and they just look down at the floor, all like, genuinely hurt.
There were far too many people who misinterpreted this movie and claimed it was homophobic which resulted in quite a few negative reviews. It was very dishonest.
M. Night has always used distant or background shots for murder. You see it but it either fades out or in the background. He did the same thing with The Happening. If you go back and watch that the suicides for the most part were background or distant mainly. Idk. I loved this movie.

7:02Of only they had the new iPhones, they have the capability to directly connect to satellites to make short emergency texts and calls. But it's a horror movie so I guess they cant do that or it'll be too easy.
This movie is based off the book The Cabin At The End Of The World by Paul Tremblay. You should check out the book it is a little different than the movie.
gay actors in gay roles Shymalan definitely hit the nail on its head by casting these these two (not that there's anything wrong with straight actors playing gay roles) but these two had great chemistry
I still wanna watch this movie. Big Shyamalan fan here, only ones I haven't seen yet are this one, The Happening, The Last Airbender (although I ALSO have seen enough OF those two, I think) and Old ....
omg you gotta watch the happening and old, of course most ppl don’t like the films but old is absolutely hilarious and Sabrina character is in it, and The Happening cause me to have a childhood fear of plants for a while lol

Yeah I noticed that in Paul Trembley’s books. He makes you wonder if what happened was real or if there was a logical explanation.
So I guess the book focused more on the home invasion aspect, and the movie on the religious/ supernatural theme.
