Mike, you really should get a pair of bluetooth communicators for working with Melissa. I bet if you contacted Sena.com, they would probably sponsor you with a pair. I adapted a set from my motorcycle helmet to sound proof head gear like you wear last spring when I was working a week with my grandson. He was on a tracked skid steer and I was running an excavator. We were doing drainage and road work at out hunting camp in central PA. We both had hearing protection all while being able to talk clearly with each other totally hands free. We could also pair our phones if we wanted and play music or take and receive phone calls. They even have a model with a camera and you can narrate your video direct from the headset. It is a lot better than trying to use hand signals or yelling over the sound of the machine. They have noise canceling so they reduce ambient noise so the microphone does not get drowned out by background noise (machine, band mill etc). I think you would find that they revolutionize your work and help in your video production. If I am not wrong, I think their headquarters are in Pittsburgh. Can't get much better than that.

Good morning from NC again. It was cold over in SE PA loading the pickup yesterday morning! But we had a great weekend of house projects - the biggest one was installing shelves and spice racks in a pantry, but lots of littler ones - fixed the crawl space door, mounted the street address numbers on the front, installed a dimmer for living room lights, installed a washer and dryer, assembled a 2-drawer file cabinet for one of the offices, unpacked a full desk top and set aside for later assembly, consulted on patching/leveling yard and picked up topsoil and seed, acquired miscellaneous tools a new homeowner will need. And I’ve forgotten a lot I’m sure. Great fun hanging with my son all weekend.
Your multipurpose building is coming along! Good to see it.

Mike - Nice video. Sorry for the camera loss, but it goes with the territory. Melissa - Nice work on the hand signals as you guided Mike's work on the bucket. They may not have been the official signals (I have no idea what they are), but they were clear, and easy to understand what you wanted Mike to do. The project takes another step forward. Blessings to you both and to the family. Hi to Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.

I have about 12 inches or less of beautiful black color top soil, then a white clay layer 12" give or take with big 12-24 inch boulders made of white/grey sand stone, after that a red color sub soil of dirt mixed with gravel to about 5-6 feet deep then grey color solid bedrock.

Interesting how shallow that water line is, I would think even in your area you would want it at least 4’. Here in Minnesota we bury water lines at least 6’ especially across a driveway or road. A few years ago I had to shut my water off and drain the lines to my shop because they were close to freezing (water was 36 degrees at the tap) there are two spots where it crosses under a driveway . Where the ground is not covered by snow for insulation. Looking great. Have a day!

Nice job. I'm probably confused, but that looked like electrical conduit rather than potential water line connection.

Yea is just a 3” electrical conduit, I will shove the water line through it if and when it comes

Like you show. Conduit is the term applied to PVC pipe made for electrical wiring containment. Stabilizers and other ingredients used in conduit PVC may be toxic; conduit PVC is not held to the same drinking water standards as NSF marked pipe and should not be used in potable water systems. I hope the conduit you installed is only to allow you to slide a water pipe inside the conduit in the future. Best of luck.

Good Day Mike! you might be able to replace that screen instead of getting a whole new camera body....

Too bad about the Canon M50, but it's lasted about 3-4 years? Like John Haug said - you make ditch digging interesting! BTW, I drive a 2018 Mack Granite (made in Allentown, PA) with a McNeilus 11 yd Concrete Mixer drum in Columbus, Ohio for Anderson Concrete. My winter lay-off is about to end, with all this nice weather upon us. This might be my last year at work, just turned 66 and looking forward to easier times. Hopefully I can get some time to get our RUclips channel in motion. I've shot video everyday I have drove for the last 2 years!! Thanks for the entertainment, Charlie & Louise

I can’t even imagine attempting to do all that digging with a simple shovel anymore!
