I would recommend you to speak to a lawyer girl , it takes about 6 months to get approved to go to Mexico , & you’ll need a reason why you need to go ex: gpa passed away , mom is sick , gma is sick & you need to go see them.

I’m older than her and went to city college right after HS here in CA and you need to fill out AB540 app to pay instate tuition I remember it was $46 per unit instead of $300+ and you can apply for the dream act which is like fafsa for them to cover the rest or most of it for low income students. ( not sure if it has been the same all this time in Texas) Wish she was updated about it because I always hear her talk about how she had to Drop out because she was undocumented not sure if it was just that she wasn’t informed. When I went to seminars I found out there are people paying these ridiculous prices just for not knowing!! Edit: Dang her energy/ interest was lacking😅

I totally agree!! I wish she would have given better information. I went to college right after high school without having DACA and was still able to pay in state tuition.. and I live in Dallas, Texas. Once I was able to get DACA, it gave me peace of mind more than anything. It would have been nice to be able to educate people on the process/ all that inner workings of DACA.
Out of state tuition is no joke! BUT to all the Dreamers, do not get discouraged. There is a lot of help for students whose grades and GPA is excellent. There are lots of non profits whose job is solely to get professionals into their fields. Do not fold! Do not break! Keep going, friends! Great things coming for any student who is serious about academia.

Clarification you can attend college as a DACA student and be charged instate tuition. Going to college as a dreamer is challenging but not impossible. She could have gone to a college if she wanted to but had other opportunities, which is great for her!
I think at the time she was applying to college DACA was very new and not a lot of schools were offering in-state tuition for Dreamers, its pretty wide spread now but it hasn’t always been that way
Correct I have DACA status and I was able to attend college in Fall 2009 with in state tuition in Texas - the state of Texas considers most DACA recipients state residents and can qualify for state tuition. It wasn’t easy but definitely do not agree with her statement you have to do your research

I totally agree!! I wish she would have given better information. I went to college right after high school without having DACA and was still able to pay in state tuition.. and I live in Dallas, Texas. Once I was able to get DACA, it gave me peace of mind more than anything. It would have been nice to be able to educate people on the process/ all that inner workings of DACA.
Out of state tuition is no joke! BUT to all the Dreamers, do not get discouraged. There is a lot of help for students whose grades and GPA is excellent. There are lots of non profits whose job is solely to get professionals into their fields.
Do not fold! Do not break! Keep going, friends! Great things coming for any student who is serious about academia.

Clarification you can attend college as a DACA student and be charged instate tuition. Going to college as a dreamer is challenging but not impossible. She could have gone to a college if she wanted to but had other opportunities, which is great for her!
I think at the time she was applying to college DACA was very new and not a lot of schools were offering in-state tuition for Dreamers, its pretty wide spread now but it hasn’t always been that way

Correct I have DACA status and I was able to attend college in Fall 2009 with in state tuition in Texas - the state of Texas considers most DACA recipients state residents and can qualify for state tuition. It wasn’t easy but definitely do not agree with her statement you have to do your research

I don’t know why everyone is hating on Daisy. That just speaks on YOUR character. I enjoyed this podcast & Daisy Marquez is one of my favorite influencers. I’ve been watching her videos since she moved to LA with her now ex. Yes, she has changed but everyone changes everyday & she’s human like us. She’s growing & learning everyday. She’s glowing ✨ she’s an inspiration, she works hard & speaks her mind. As a DACA recipient, I admire her accomplishments. She could’ve talked more about the topic but that’s something to give positive feedback on & not talk down on. So sad to see all the negative comments.
A lot of the women commenting are threatened by her. They’re insecure and projecting, it’s definitely showing lol. When someone is secure in themselves they have no reason to hate anyone. They’re all envious and jealous and then wonder why they won’t ever be successful because they’re too busy being envious and hating on others. They need to learn self love 😂
