Stavroz se formó en 2011 por IJsbrand & Gert, ambos DJ e ingenieros de sonido que buscan una forma de canalizar sus travesuras musicales. Poco después, Maxim y Pieter se unieron en shows en vivo y en el estudio. Su primer lanzamiento de EP, “The Ginning”, fue recogido en blogs internacionales, lo que resultó en la posición más alta en la máquina Hype y fue elegido el vinilo del mes por la revista alemana “Faze Magazine”. De vuelta a casa en Bélgica, fueron galardonados con el segundo mejor artista de vanguardia, justo después de Oscar & The Wolf.
Conocidos por inyectar un ambiente étnico, acústico y orgánico general a la música electrónica, estos cuatro amigos se lanzaron los lanzamientos para Kindisch, Laut & Luise, Bedrock, Delicieuse y su propio sello “Moodfamily” en Gante.
Sus íntimos sets en vivo y sus únicos conjuntos de dj fueron recogidos rápidamente, enviándolos en viajes regulares al extranjero. Solo para regresar a casa para disfrutar de un poco de fifa y su programa semanal en la radio nacional belga ‘Studio Brussel’, donde muestran una extraña habilidad para combinar lo antiguo con lo nuevo y el este con el oeste.
Su aclamado último lanzamiento, “Talabout”, lo lleva a donde nadie más va, un destino inalcanzable por medios comunes, pero un lugar que difumina las líneas entre tener un sueño y un estado mental.
Stavroz logra crear una banda sonora sana y reconfortante para un lugar, que ninguna palabra puede describir. Tome un descanso, recuéstese, cierre los ojos y escuche una historia contada de manera orquestal, con tanta profesión y oído para los detalles. Stavroz es algo diferente.

Música como ésta debería ser mucho más circulada en México.
Qué forma de ensamblar el sonido análogo y digital, y de sobrepasar los límites estilísticos de género. Pocas tienen la capacidad de hacerlo al nivel de BadBadNotGood o Jojo Mayer & Nerve. Gran banda!
