My skill level in Linux is probably 2.5/10, whereas my skill in Windows is probably 8/10. Watch me fail!

UPDATE! Seems that the issue is from Windows' .NET services. I tried getting a Linux alternative that is supposed to work with wine but to no avail. But remember, I don't know what I'm doing

It would be fantastic if it was working out of the box. However, I believe there is a work being done by the team to make the software non Windows dependent. Fingers crossed

Windows 11 is not quite what I want in an operating system. Unfortunately, I'm still learning Linux and I think it still has a ways to go before it's ready for the non-tech-savvy masses, but I'm definitely gonna consider it once Windows 10 on this machine is no longer an option.

Nice to see you trying, even though you failed... ...this time. For the last 25 years every time I got fed up with Windows I looked at Linux, spent a day or so trying it and then back to Windows. One day maybe.

I do use Linux maybe once or twice a week for simple things. Linux Mint is definitely where it's at for those who are currently Windows users.
I love the idea of Linux and what it represents, but there are just some things that Windows does way better, and usability for the average person is one of them.
Until a distro can offer everything a Windows power-user needs on the day-to-day, and do it in an easy manner without having to type huge commands into a terminal, Linux will continue to be the distant 3rd place option.
It also doesn't help that Linux often takes the most dev time but has the smallest user base and the most problems/bugs.

In steam, I would probably "%command% 1>log.txt 2>err.txt" then try to start the program, then explore the files (log.txt and err.txt in paticular). But I would not have great hope.

It gives an error saying it's missing a Steam App ID, which is odd since it should know it's not a steam app since I added it as such.
I tried looking up the error I got on screen, and even fed it to ChatGPT which said it was a Windows .NET error. ChatGPT suggested I get mono setup, and I tried, but I still got the error. But also I'm a Linux noob so maybe I did it wrong.
