Wow! Great review. I was lucky to snag a Coy Hill at msrp thanks to my son and his contacts in the retail spirits business. I was surprised to see you describe the palate as fire. Mine is 141.6 and it actually drinks like ten or more proof points less. Of course I take smaller sips than you do haha.

Same here. I got into it about 3 months ago.. I have Tag-along, Pigskin, and Bardstown batches. I wasn't impressed with my Taylor or Blantons. I've only tried Rittenhouse Rye and I'm waiting on a MWND Act 9 (not sure if it's a true rye).

Oh, man. The look on your face after you took that first big swig was priceless!!! I personally enjoy high proofs, but in my opinion (and taste), flavor starts getting overpowered by the heat at anything over 120 proof. Do you think adding water brings it down to what it should have been in the first place?

($68.00) Haven’t cracked it yet but I’m excited. Was able to get an FAE-02 at the same time. ($60). Can’t wait to try both and compare the 2 FAE’s. Keep up the good “work”, buddy
Have not found that yet, I normally stick with the single barrel select.I've gone through 4 bottles, my brother is on his 3rd, and my son has gone thru two, plus one of the select ryes. Not a fan of old #7, love everything else.
Literally 2 days after my initial post I decided to call around to a couple of my spots and got lucky. One place received 3 bottles and I was able to get one. When I went to pick it up one of the individuals that had a bottle on hold canceled which opened up a spot for my good friend. We are two happy campers! Each bottle was $100, I hear some places have gone up to $750! I’ll also add that since the limited series came out they quickly became my replacement for the unavailable and overpriced Buffalo Trace varieties such as GTS and so forth….
Jack Daniels showed everyone if you gonna get in the business, hit 'em in the mouth. This Coy hits cleanup on all their other special releases. Thoughts?

Since I live in Nashville, I purchased the Coy Hill bottle the week it was released at MSRP. Mine is 134.2 proof. It is a hot one but I feel the taste is complex and super different from any Jack Daniels product I’ve ever had. Have you tried the Jack 10 year old? I was very unimpressed when comparing it to Coy Hill.. but I guess that’s comparing Apple to Oranges. Have a great holiday !
My current favourite proof is around 95-105, so I think this would be a bit much for me. (I find my bottle of 2020 GTS is a bit hot for me though I can appreciate it)
For what it's worth, you should NEVER store any whiskey on it's side... Yes, that's ideal for wine at such a low proof but even barely-legal (e.g. 80 proof) alcohol content will eat away at the cork and ruin what's in the bottle... Just sayin

I just got notification from a liquor store that initially sold the coy hill at $269...they jacked their price to $999..smh...I did score the JDSBBP 2020 special release..so I'm happy.
People should always keep bottles upright to avoid cork degradation and taint IMO some guys said Coy Hill tatse like Grape Kok and some said it taste like Mcdonalds Bbq sauce single barrels are gonna be insane
