Bought the set and built all 30 models! I grew very impatient during the process but it was the most fun I've ever had with lego. I would love to see a set like this (or this) be remade with today's bricks.

Lego needs to make another lego set like this. It's been 14 years and they haven't made another set like this wich suprises me.
Side-note: i havnt seen anyone build any of the other models other than the crocodile locomotive. If theres a video out there of the other models, please let me know.
OK, I have 4 of these and 3 are still sealed. Three are sealed with factory tape and 1 was glued shut at the factory. I've only opened one of them and was at first confused that I had 4 instruction books. I later had to find out that they handed out the instructions separately as initially they were only available online. Does anyone know where to get the other instructions for the other models? He didn't put it in the description like he said.

I have been watching or listening to your older Lego Train reviews while cleaning today :D
The Hobby Train is an amazing set and I'm so glad getting 4 of the 30 models for around 200 bucks last month ;)
I got the locos #1 and #5 with motors, the car #10 and two of the gondolas #28 :)
Now I hope I can get a full set somewere for a good price so I can build all the other models too ;)

@@BrickTsar me too ;) but I came back from my dark ages 2013 and since then I'm buying all new trains, most of them 2 or 3 times ;)
I still didn't open my 2nd and 3rd Horizon Express because I didn't had the space and track for such a long Train.

Thanks, I saw the 9v freight train for 300 sealed aswell, and the big lego my own train locomotive sealed for 120
I thought you did a great review now I have seen the other models on the other website I think it is a little better but to me I just don't see the appeal
I am partial to the designers. You should check out Ben Beneke designs, He has made a lot of European type locomotives.

I'm sorry everyone but I love Lego Trains but this one is one of the worst Lego trains I have ever seen. Again I apologize to all the designers and BrickTsar but I just thought I would share that with you
Everybody has a right to their opinion. That is okay with me. There are plenty of sets that I don't like that are rather popular.
