  • In the latest episode of The Teardown, Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi discussed the NASCAR race that took place at Darlington Raceway. They talked about Brad Keselowski's victory, the resurgence of Ford, and Chris Buescher's frustrations. They also commented on the confrontation between Chris Buescher and Tyler Reddick on pit road after the race.
Jordan shared his latest article on the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series schedule. He discussed the possibility of NASCAR racing in Mexico City next year, and speculated that the Clash would be held at Bowman Gray Stadium. Jordan also suggested the idea of a rotating championship race which led to an iconic Jeff Gluck rant.
The conversation ended with their predictions for the "Was it a Good Race" poll. They questioned whether the Lady in Black race was one for the books.

regarding the Clash....FOX has the event, and is part of their 14 events. Clash doesn't necessarily mean it has to be the 1st event of the year. Moreover, what is NASCAR's agreement to host events at Bowman Gray? As for Mexico City....oh hell no.

The whole Phoenix vs Homestead and championship finale conversation was exactly the push and pull between NASCAR and its fans. Jordan is taking NASCAR's position and saying from a business and optics perspective Phoenix works out better but Jeff as the fan perspective just wants to see a good race. NASCAR doesn't care if the racing is bad unless they see a decline in vierwership, ticket sales and overall revenue.

Do you have inside information on teams and their stories. All the shows have deteriorate into you rants and personal minutiae that has nothing to do with anything. I just wanna say...I understand that winning gives a team confident and "momentum," but it's honestly kind of silly to act like Ford has come out of nowhere and that they've been completely out to lunch so far this year. I would say that Toyota and Chevy have both been better, but there have been multiple virtual ties. Acting like being 0.001 or 0.003 seconds "off" is some sort of mechanical shortcoming is kind of a caveman brain kind of mentality. Ford has been capable of winning a handful of times. Of COURSE they were eventually going to get it. RFK alone had four 2nd place finishes already this year. I'll break it down real fast.
Race 1 Daytona: Ford wins pole. Blaney wins stage 2. This is probably your best example of Ford being "off" with the top finishing Ford finishing 9th, but c'mon, it's a plate track
Race 2 Atlanta: Ford wins pole and both stages. Ford finishes 2nd by 0.003. Entire narrative about Ford wouldn't exist if Blaney was about 2 or 3 inches further ahead.
Race 3 Las Vegas: Ford wins pole. Ford finishes 3rd. Admittedly, they had nothing for Larson or Reddick, but neither did any other Chevy or Toyota.
Race 4 Phoenix: Ford finishes 2nd. The first of RFK's four second place finishes. Toyota won everything. Only Chevy in the top 10 finished 6th--second highest finished 13th.
Race 5 Bristol: Ford wins 4th of 5 poles. Ford finishes 3rd with Brad in an insane race that can't be compared to anything else.
Race 6 COTA: Ford kinda sucked on this day, not gonna lie. Top Ford, Buescher, finished 8th.
Race 7 Richmond: Ford finished 2nd with Logano.
Race 8 Martinsville: This was the Hendrick 1-2-3 race. Ford got 5th, 6th, 9th, and 10th. Not great.
Race 9 Texas: Ford finishes 2nd with Brad this time.
Race 10 Talladega: Ford wins pole and both stages. Ford finishes 2nd for the 5th time this season, again with Brad.
Race 11 Dover: Another Hendrick/Gibbs shutout kind of race. Top ford finished 6th. I'd argue this was Ford's second or third "bad" race to this point.
Race 12 Kansas: Ford wins stage 2 and finishes second by the smallest margin in NASCAR Cup Series history. That makes 1/2 the races where Ford has finished 2nd.
Race 13 Darlington: Ford wins the race and everyone is shocked, even though it's RFK's 5th top-2 finish of the year and could have very, very easily been back-to-back wins for RFK.
I'm not even a Ford guy, I just wanted to point out that this narrative has been so overblown the entire time. We have just been equating Chevy with "Hendrick" and equating Toyota with "JGR" pretty much because aside from some strong runs by Reddick, no one else is really going up and leading lots of laps at any point from any other team. Though I'm sure we've all forgotten, Gilliland had led the most laps of anyone after like 3 races and he drives a Ford in a car that's never won before. I'd argue that RFK, Penske, SHR, and Front Row are all pretty similar in strength. You can't say the same about Toyota--LMC is way, way off. And you DEFINITELY can't say the same about Chevy--Hendrick is the only Chevy team with any consistency whatsoever. RCR is horrendous, Kaulig is beyond pathetic, JTG is like 10 points positions behind last year, and Trackhouse has fallen off a cliff.

The win did not mean more to the 17 than it did to the 45. That way of thinking needs to go away. Redick and Buescher are going for the same championship. Every win matters when you are going up against Larson, Hamlin, Byron etc. Doesn't mean Tyler didn't screw up and get into Buescher, but to be fair, the only reason the 17 was leading was because Brad did the exact same thing to Tyler.
