Kobe Bryant Full Highlights
All Field Goal Attempts
LA Lakers vs LA Clippers
December 11, 2004
Staples Center
- 37 pts, 10r, 5a, 2b / 13-31 fg, 1-6 3pt, 10-10 ft
I decided to include all 31 of Kobe’s shot attempts in this one. Although misses do not count for points, they do hold value. Presented with all attempts, a sense of the game itself; the flow, the ups and the downs of his play can be greater understood. For instance, Kobe started poorly in this one, making only 2 of his first 8 shots. He then proceeded to go 11 for his next 23, totaling 31 points in just over 2 1/2 quarters of play. His slow start but very impressive progression amidst the matchup’s core may have been tough to gather without displaying all of his attempts. Additionally, misses hold value as a shot-creating display. An example of this would be Kobe’s “killer cross” pull-up on Maggette midway through the 1st quarter. It’s highly likely that Kobe couldn’t have cared less about that brick. But for us fans, the move itself or series of moves in other instances can still be substance worth appreciating.
I do plan on including all field goal attempts in future uploads; ones that I observe quality misses in, consequentially leading to a deeper reveal of Kobe’s overall performance.

During the 2004 summer, free agent (at the time) Kobe Bryant is said to have committed to joining the LA Clippers. Very influential Lakers’ personnel persuaded him back into purple and gold. This Lakers-road, Clippers-home matchup between the city rivals was the first since Kobe opted to re-sign with the Lakers.
The 2004-05 season was Kobe’s first as the clear-cut number one option and lead voice. Through his first 18 games, the averages were solid at 26.4p, 7.3r and 7.1a in nearly 43 mpg. This included 3 triple doubles. His game was evolving and his role as a distributor was expanding, but this didn’t come without growing pains. In those initial 18 games, Kobe was shooting only 39.7% from the field and tallying an uncharacteristically high 4.7 turnovers a night. He entered Staples on December 11th coming off back-to-back triple doubles. However, both contests saw him commit 8 turnovers.
This game against the Clippers was a bit of a turning point for Kobe statistically. He proceeded to log 31.5p, 6.2a and 5.6r on 42-35-79 (%) in his next 14 games. The assists had gone down, but the points went up. This makes light of a shift in his focus offensively, kind’ve similar to how Kobe’s ‘03 campaign transpired. After his inefficient 18 game start, Kobe’s next 48 were at 28.0p, 5.6a and 5.4r on 45-34-82 (%) with 3.9 topg. Although the Lakers missed the playoffs, ‘05 is still an intriguing version of Kobe. Without Phil, Shaq, key role guys like Fox, Fisher and Horry, Kobe was on his own, surrounded by a new coach and a bunch of young hopefuls looking to maintain consistent playing time. Quite the flip from his first 8 seasons.

Do you like the inclusion of Kobe’s missed shots?
@Vidal Hodges i feel you. I always include the ones that lead to ft’s but this is the first vid i’ve done misses as well.
yes we appreciate youuu
I LOVE IT!! Congrats
His misses are more entertaining to watch than most people’s makes!
Yes
Definitely include misses. It provides a different and unique aspect to your highlights. You should consider it for all future uploads.
Well said. Def will consider doing more. Especially games with quality attempts.
Love watching the misses! Forsure my favorite Kobe page
🙏
We miss Kobe
Solid af description. Good work mane
🙏
The inclusion of missed shots is very good imo. Good video
Got yuh
@domcarter kobe played and looked 6'8 from 2004-2006 and 2008-2012 because of the muscle gains. Keep these gems coming
Yessir 👌
He actually looked the most buffed in the 2006-2007 season.
@@robertofranciscor.beltran5588 no he was out of "shape" early that season because of knee surgery again following his 06 season..
@@a6life874 And the crazy thing is, he still averaged over 31PPG that season. Even early on when he came back, he had 50 point gems, most notably his 52 in 3 quarters and 53 against the Houston Rockets. That was a special season for him, considering the off season knee surgery.
@@a6life874 52 in 3 quarters vs The Jazz I should’ve noted.
People forget that kobe had plantar fasciitis that year that contributed to his low field goal % imo. Also even though he only shot 43% his true shooting % was around 56 which is actually quite efficient. His numbers were good but the team was bad. I think this year made kobe appreciate phil which is why he was okay with him coming back despite that unflattering book, “the last season.”
Thats a great point. His free throw rate was so high that season. 10.1 to 20.1 fta/fga ratio. Really boosted the ts% even with the mediocre 43.3 fg%
he shot just under league average but he was the main option and you see a lot of attempts are bail outs at the end of the shot clock, for the era that it was perfect
@@duckboy5725yeah league average was literally 44% in 2005 lol
He was bulked up here as well.
Long Live Kobe #MambaForever
We love everything about these Koie's babies, every shot he made, and every shot he missed. That how we know how Kobe overcame those missed shots and still won the game. Kobe is the most all-around player that there is in the NBA. Kobe can do is it all, rebound, jump shots, making three-pointers from a different angle on the court, pull-up or post-up shots. Kobe can and will do it all. Thanks, Dom Carter for sharing these Kobie's babies, we really enjoy them. That's what we miss, Kobe the all-around player, the most advanced player in the NBA. Boy do we love these Kobie's babies, we sure do miss him a lot. I'm loving these Kobie's babies. Thank you.
Babies😂
4:38 🏀🐐
The mid 2000s was really a crossroads in Kobe's career. That is why I think 24>8. 24 just achieved that mastery of the game that 8 was still striving for.
Greg pop agrees with you, he said pretty much the same thing about Kobe always being a great scorer but really becoming a great leader was his apex moment
Great job again🔥
Thanks always 🙏
Kobe looked like my old ass the other day on the pickup games thinking I still got it
Love your channel bro! Especially with all the different perspectives with those who follow your channel as well, we are a different group!
I appreciate that man, glad to hear
5:21 🤯
Chucky Atkins was underrated af!
Love your work including the misses
Alot of the shots he missed he eventually made those shots casually shows the work he puts in
Unlike any other
great content
5:22 Jesus….I love it Kobe did not stop for nothing
It so many bad shots man .. god lee...as great as he was it was hard to see so many horrific shot attempts..it like he made 1fg every 3 -4 misses
Wtf kobe and Vlade played together??
Yes. That was the last season of Vlade.
@@ibleedpurpleandgold9084
Wow. I know Divac hated that shit lol
How could Clippers fans even exist when Kobe Bryant plays for your main local team?
I was today years old when I found out Vlade Divac was teammates with Kobe 😳
Power swat....
Atkins was really good at this game tho
I think Kobe got too big this year; affected his shot. You can see his shooting motion was so rigid. Line drives.
One thing is kobe shot lots of air balls lol
literally took every shot lol
Thats not a goal tend!
