Girl, I'm the exact same I struggle with what my basic drink is at pubs (here in the UK) - I generally get rum & ginger beer or lemonade or a glass of prosecco or a glass of red wine/rose. For non-alcoholic options, I get tonic water & lime cordial (lime soda) or lemonade / lemonade mixed with orange juice ❤️

Yeah I’m from New York and it’s interesting New York is very diverse but it is very segregated. A lot of restaurants especially on the west side (Chelsea) (west 4 area) is mainly white. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable eating at restaurants. I think it is definitely finding the right spots/area.
I expected to see more diversity in the places I frequent but one day I realized I was sometimes the only poc and I got uncomfortable 😭 UES is predominately white I suppose but that’s where I was staying so I didn’t really know

People in NY are trying to be a bit more sensible with their money. Why spend $100 on one dinner when you can get enough ingredients to make a week worth of meals or better yet you can invest that money.
i guess incremental dollars could be hedged for inflation in that case
$100 can be a lot for a person. I think I would spend that much only for a special occasion really. Not everyone can afford these places regularly
