1939 Tournament of Roses Parade

This rare film from Pepperdine University Library's Special Collections & University Archives captures floats in procession during the Tournament of Roses parade in 1939, which was the 50th anniversary of the parade in Pasadena, California. It was shot by James L. Lovell, an early supporter of Pepperdine College, on silent, color 8mm film. Highlights include Shirley Temple as Grand Marshall and a float depicting the Wizard of Oz.
