Kenny Pickett finally threw a deep shot down the field and connected on it. It was a thing of beauty. At that point it didn't matter what the result of the game was gonna be. That shows progress and potential!
The team has nothing to do with why he gets hurt; it's him. TJ's brain is his strongest weapon; the problem is he pushes his body past it's limits. Truthfully he's not the biggest or fastest guy, but he would be worthy to be a Green Lantern with his willpower.
It's the domino effect. You have to double TJ. Even then he can beat it sometimes but it has to be done. Which means you can't double Cam, you can't chip Highsmith on the other side with a back, you can't pack the middle against Jack or Bush. The pressure he creates shortens routes and helps out secondary. He makes everyone better because of how disruptive he is and the attention he commands.
With TJ back, the Steelers stand a ghost of a chance at salvaging their season. Unlike the Saints who are already too deep in the hole to save theirs...

Kenny has had a brutal rookie schedule at Buffalo for his first start, at Miami and at Philly. Off the bench vs NYJ who we now know we're much better than we thought and vs Tampa. Everyone of those teams are either some of the best teams in the league or playoffs contenders. In all of them he's had flashes of brilliance. Today was his first full game at home (off bench second half vs NYJ and injured early in 3rd quarter vs TB) I wanted Kenny from jump. Never cared what anyone else said. I also said he needs to play this year. All this experience he's getting right now is all beneficial vs just standing on the sideline
thinking he needs to play early to figure things out was and is 100 percent true. the only thing steeler fans were incorrect about was thinking he would do good from the start, that was always unlikely with rookie qb's. not every steeler fan thought that just some. but playing to learn how to win - that part was indeed true.

Not to mention they didn't have TJ for those games, and Minkah is clearly not 100%. The defense when healthy is every bit the dynamo they were last year. I just hope they can keep that up while the offense figures things out; it shouldn't be long before the Steelers are back in the picture.

I was at this game and it was amazing. I’m from western mass and traveled all the way to Pittsburgh to see the Steelers play. It was my first NFL game and it was perfect! lower row seats, they performed well, Tj Watt returned, and we won! #SteelersNation

I’m impressed by the play calling on offense. I just hope Canada doesn’t get all big headed and go back to what he was calling after one game of pretty good calls. Some O lineman who protect Kenny is our biggest need assuming everyone stays healthy because he’s getting killed and I don’t wanna see him get the David Carr treatment. After that we just need Kenny to continue to develop properly and take small steps one week at a time. Either way I’m here for the ups and downs #HereWeGo 🖤💛
