Anything and everything Kevin says about Primaluna is true. I own two power amps switched into monoblocks and I am so happy with its performance, aesthetic and most importantly, sound. I have them connected to a McIntosh preamp and are such a great combination. The sound I have been chasing for decades is found with these amps. My audio expectations have been surpassed and just love listening to music a whole lot more. If anybody wonders about Primaluna, just watch the many youtube videos of people unboxing and setting up their amps like it's Christmas in July.

      Nice 👍 What’s your loudspeaker(s) ?

@@glichasasha750 I'm using the C8 McIntosh preamp. All tube. My speakers are Klipsch RF-82 II. The newer versions of this speaker by Klipsch are pretty much the same speaker with minor changes to them
My amps are the Primaluna Prologue Premium as monoblocks with KT120 tubes. A Yamaha CD S1000, Schiit Yggy DAC and a vintage Technics 1200 with a Sumiko Blue point No.3. I also have a subwoofer by Sony that is a push pull dual speaker in one cabinet that shakes my entire house.

I can't afford them, but every time I hear the PrimaLunas of any type I'm stunned! (Most recent at the Costa Mesa show where I had the absolute honor of meeting Kat). I've only heard them at shows of course. My system (that took 5 years to complete) is solid state and as great as it sounds to me (proper setup is key), there is just something about the PrimaLuna tube gear that I can't explain. The sound is hard to really describe.
I also agree about the breakdown of budgeting for a system. About 60%+- should go to the speakers. If I was of means, I'd purchase a PrimaLuna only from Kevin/Upscale. I love his ethic! He can go through all the excitement of presentation, but he follows it by stating the most important thing, " do your diligence, get educated before you buy"! That should be the standard for all! On top of that, Kevin is an encyclopedia of tubes. Nobody knows more about that then he does.

Would agree completely with Kevin's comments. Originally like many I was skeptical. Over the past decade or so have owned 5 Primaluna tube power amps. Have sold them, to buy another brand of tube power amp, and have always come back to buy another PL. All great value for your money. Now have a pair of EVO 400s running in mono. Did not think they would do much, but I was wrong. A pair as monos are a great pair of tube amps. And had another big surprise when I switched from single ended RCA inputs to fully balanced XLR inputs. the two EV) 400s became EVO 600s. Excellent dynamic and micro-dynamic contrasts, great imaging great vocals.

Just such a pity the brand “not interested” in our country. But thank you for at least responding to my request in buying. So went for Synthesis to empty my bank account 😅. 3 power amps and 1 pre amp later veryyy happy.

I just saw your review of the Western Electric 300 B integrated amplifier. Western electric designed this amplifier with a removable output transformer to match the input impedance of the speakers you are using. That's the right way for any audio company to approach the problem of hysteresis. This doesn't mean that Prima Luna does not make exceptional audio equipment. They do, they absolutely do.

I have one of these and it's great. I'm getting a pair of Magnapan MG-111As. I've been told they are power hungry. Anyone have any insight on this combo?

Uncle Kevin...I still learn from all your videos. Also i STILL LOVE my PrimaLuna ProLogue Five Stereo Power Amplifier. Could i pair that with this for mono block system? Big Love From The Beautiful Cascade Mountains! Squatch and I still rock to the Gimme Shelter intro. God Save Uncle Kevin AND the Queen Kat!!!! Jim

"like if this was CSI: tube amplifier..."
This may be the hifi quote of 2023.
And it didn't even come from Kat.
