After Ayan played her king to e2, ( 7:36 ) , Divya took some time to move, with an easy position to win. Then Ayan seemed to take offense to that, at 8:13. Ayan was all done after losing the knight, and didn't appreciate having to wait. Resign then, I'd say. If you don't want to continue with a lost game. Your opponent can take as much time as they want to, and their right to do that needs to be respected. And it seems that Ayan failed to respect Divya about that.
A lot of people haven't picked up that Ayan Allahverdiyeva is blankly staring ahead of her, and not at Divya. This brings out the human side of both players. Ayan was distraught, Divya was kind to her.
You are Absolutely right sir. People spreading hate here use their ass for thinking not their brain otherwise they would have known the reality. Fools!!!!!
no need to be judgy over this, prolly ayan has some backstory of how imp this would be for her and divya played a good strong game. Pressure makes us behave what we don't under normal circumstances. Let it go!
Why to say sorry? Divya Deshmukh played brilliantly and won the watch🧡and moreover Ayan Allahverdiyeva is always staring at Divya, I personally think its ill mannered and I hate when someone does that
Usually I don't abuse anyone but How stupid you are?!!!...Divya's opponent didn't even do anything wrong she wasn't even looking at her. First watch the video with brain in your head not in your knees and don't judge someone blindly.
Tough luck for ayan. It's like Nepo's "...c5? Is he nuts?!" blunder😅 Chess is hard man. You spend hours grinding a good position and try to win or draw, only for a single, brief moment of being out of focus to lose you the game. That's really gutwrenching. Wish her the best in the next tournament. Divya is doing great though, congrats to her.
Ayan is a weak player strangely. I don't know how she got WIM title. She even doesn't know that the most important thing in chess is the King's safety. She played with her King instead hiding her king behind her pawns and playing with major and minor pieces.
She went onto win all 4 remaining matches after this one. Ended up in 3rd place. I think this move was just a casual blunder. Even Magnus makes blunders.
Just resign. Classic thinking after the blunder instead of before. Happens to everyone but don’t make someone sit and cry with you. Just shake their hand and say thanks for the lesson
Noobs with 100Elo say even 1200 wouldn't do this kind of blunder. Dude even greatest of chess players make silliest of mistakes, it's part of the game.
Why say sorry? Ayan was staring shamelessly at Divya for a very long time...that was very rude and ill mannered. It is time Indian sportspersons stopped being nice to everyone. Ayan played badly and lost. Simple.
Are you kidding? Despite the rating difference, Ayan was winning and then the position turned into a drawn one. Mistakes happen to everyone, it was the 40th move and she was upset about the draw. She probably was not very careful, she just wanted to make some random move and go wash her face. And she was not staring at Divya, she was lost in thoughts and staring into the distance. You can clearly see that when Divya moves, Ayan’s eyes stay fixed at one point , she is just frozen, trying to process the mistake. If anyone is mean, it is the people in the comments, literally hating on a 19 year old girl.
She should have instead said Good Game so that the opponent would at least think they played fine until that blunder, kind of comforting BTW following moves were just brilliant🤩 instead of going for a queen trade going for the mate is just another level Savage Opponent was waiting for her to blunder the Queen NGL i was too😅 This made my day great game Kudos to both the players❤
Staring for so long is rude no matter the occasion. The awkwardness was so thick it could be cut with a knife. Just accept that you blundered your knight and move on. There are no undo buttons in chess
Current world champion Ding Liren lost 4 games in a row in Norway chess 2024. he admitted that in his speech in closing ceremony of that event.. just be brave !!
Sounds like a you problem if you can't take starting, it happens in chess very often but for some reason when a muslim does it u indians have a problem.
IM is higher in ranking than WIM.. In fact an IM is higher in ranking than WGM.. So IM Divya Deshmukh is a stronger player than most WGM players on papers.. However, it will always boil down to playing on board, holding your nerves and a lot of other factors as well.

She drank 3 bottles of water. No wonder she was in a hurry to get the game done 😮

You're right.. she is staring ahead of her and not at Divya. Those who are saying otherwise are belittling this young chess player.
Good win Divya

She was not looking at divya.
There was no match between the two. Divya was much superior to her & in the end, it was proved/ established also ❤
Divya smartly not looking into opponent eyes and dont know what she wants from Divya
she's muslim what can we expect?

Congratulations to Divya
i would be so uncomfortable being stared down like that. divya is really classy, unlike her opponent.

You all need eyes. Ayan was not staring at divya but staring at a distance. why would she stare at divya its not going to change the chess position. 😊
she was staring like she will chop head of divya like some islamist terro
She was issuing fatwa with eyes
Chess is brutal but wouldnt saying sorry make them feel even worse? No one wants pity from your opponent
It's more of empathy than pity

what does she wants from divya by stariing like thaat
Why Divya is IM not WIM
What do you mean why? Because she is an IM. Her IM title takes precedence over her WIM title.
She has 2400 plus rating and req. norms 4 the IM title...
IM is higher in ranking than WIM.. In fact an IM is higher in ranking than WGM.. So IM Divya Deshmukh is a stronger player than most WGM players on papers.. However, it will always boil down to playing on board, holding your nerves and a lot of other factors as well.
Guessing it's just a kind heart, but maybe she got inspired by Nepo at the candidates
Assalamualaikum alhamdulillah insyaallah semoga tetap semangat 😊
