Cobra 3D Printed Irons: See what makes the Limit3d so special

The Cobra Limit3d irons are 3D printed instead of cast or forged. The 3D printed process allowed Cobra designers to make the Limit3d irons extremely forgiving, even though they look like a muscleback blade. Only 500 sets are being made, at $2,999.99 per set, so the Cobra 3D Printed Limit3d irons will be scarce, but they might be a glimpse into the future of golf manufacturing.

I'll be very curious if this is the start of something that will be common in the next five to 10 years. Prices have to come down, but 3D printing can allow designers to make things that are impossible to make using casting or forging. - DD

David thanks for the video. So I placed a call to my Cobra guy to see if I can get a set since only 500 available. My question to you is: what current Cobra clubs are the 3D's similar to so I can get a visual and maybe demo that product? Possibly the Cobra King Tec or Tec X irons? Thanks in advance.

The body shape and size is nearly equivalent to the King Tour, the irons that Rickie Fowler is playing. - DD

The price of 3D printing metal has come down a lot over the last few years. I suspect, like other technologies, it will keep coming down. As that happen, Cobra's prices will fall and we could get something. (in five to seven years) that is comparable in price to a forged iron. - DD

I filmed this at Quail Hollow Golf Club before the start of the Wells Fargo and am typing this from Valhalla Golf Club before the start of the PGA. I didn't hit them in Charlotte, but Cobra is sending me a 7-iron this week, so I'm excited to hit it next week. - Dd
