I did a video some time ago where I discussed it with some pixie mutes and others, but I'll do another quick one one coming up soon! I just need to figure out which mute to use, I have a few new ones coming in, if they need adjusting I'll use those as examples. I do need to replace the corks on my vintage Chicago Humes & Berg cup mute, perhaps I'll use that as an example.
I've been waiting for this video! I use the smaller straight mute as my standard for basically everything and i love it. It sounds great and is incredibly robust... I'm thinking about getting the large one for my rotary Bb (pretty big bell) and the cup too.
Nice! Yeah, I think if you like the smaller straight mute then you'll love the larger one and the cup. I also have the piccolo straight mute, but that's for a different video.
@@JoshRzepkaMusic It has a fuller sound, since metal resonates better then fiber. The sound is not as full and "rounded" as Soulo, but not as "flat" as my Wallace with copper cup. Still, full and just enough zing.
Another great video! I definitely liked the sound and clarity of attack and tone in the straight and big straight best. Really cool looking mutes!
Thank you! Yeah, can't go wrong with that large straight mute.
thank you for doing this! i have some of these and they are incredibly useful.
Glad it was helpful!
Maybe a short video on how you fit them?

Thanks!! 🙏
The finish on these mutes is stylish!
Yup!! They have a really slick finish. They are very well put together.

@@JoshRzepkaMusic I guess i've got the first items for my next Christmas wishlist... Would love to try the picc too!
I am so lucky I have a MB metal straight mute with a copper cup. Sounds superior to the fiber.
Oh wow, nice. Never seen one of those, how does it sound different to you?

Don't know how to add pictures here... sorry.
