  • While some Tarantellas are performed as a courtship dance, the ancient traditions of Apulia in Italy depict a dancer possessed. This "magico-religious" tarantella is said to be an ancient exorcism or a curative performance to treat the delirious victim of a spider bite.

    Of all the posters working to give us a real feel and flavor of the "magico-religious" tarantella, this one is easily the best I've seen. The girl, the players...this beats them all. Fantastic!

      This can occur when you eat too much "formagg' punt", the cheese with the maggots.
