I tried using water in my blondeme and you're right! It really makes a difference. I have been doing hair for 23 years and there is always something new to learn.Thank you for your videos!
@@vinoto She has a few videos showing. I mix my developer in and just add a little water at a time till the consistency is where I want. It glides through the hair so much better plus it seems to saturate better as well.
I really enjoy your teaching style and appreciate that you express your occasional anxiety. I really relate to that and seeing you work through your thought process is so helpful. Thank you so much for sharing all you beautiful work and techniques.
Beautiful work I love it and can not wait to try out the tipping ends like how u did for this video. I use to work for a older salon so we weren’t expose to these types of techniques but since I left and became an independent stylist I’m noticing a lot more techniques than usual. Thank u for sharing.
Wow and wow! You teach so well. Great technique! I have used the front (money piece technique, three fine weaves and the the fourth a teased one. So good. Thank you!
Love it! I appreciate all the tips and suggestions for different types of clients. I have been using alot of the random advice like adding a little water to your blonde me and i do believe it helped. Thanks again!
First off I want to say this is the best video I have seen explaining this!!!...What if my client does not want a shadow root and wants to keep there natural hair color? I see a trend where the initial highlights are applied with not as much care because they plan on solving and blending with shadow root. But how can this look be achieved without shadow root? And if I do use level 7 demi for example doing a shadow root, how long can I expect it to stay on the hair and how will the highlights around the root look after it fades off? Will it start to expose the top of my highlights and show the harsher lines etc? ...also I am really impressed that you care enough to actually reply to all the questions. So many people post a video then never reply. Thank you!
Hello! I definitely try to get back to every comment cause it really means so much that you guys take the time to subscribe/ comment and watch my videos! Im sure there will be a point I can't get back to everyone and I know id dread that time that comes cause I will go back and double check to make sure I'm not missing anyone and get anxiety about not responding fast enough 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️😂😂🤷♀️🤷♀️ So I JUST posted a video on back combing the weave, very fine weaves and we didn't have to do a shadow root. Feather up into the roots helps also. If someone wants an ashy root generally it fades warm over time. It's never too harsh tho and fades nicely as time goes by. The longevity really is up to clients and how often they wash, heat, product used. So I never give a time frame I just tell them it will last longer if you do these things : less washing, less colder water, good products. Also, I agree about some stylists doing lazy work cause they can cover it with shadow and it makes me cringe!
Omg loveee. I’m doing this on myself today. Yes I know what I’m doing been doing hair 15 years it’s just a bit diff on yourself! The root melt really helps for a lot of misgivings
Hi Kristie! Loving your channel!! One of my tips is to weave your section normally and then paint it like a balayage but with full saturation on the ends but a Little more feathered at the root. I paint slants, V’s , w’s etc Also I sometimes tease the woven section and proceed with painting in the foil. Also if your really going for a blurred impression towards the root you can detail your work with the Redken Blur brush😊 and blend it more.
Thank you Kristi - you are a true artist and excellent educational teacher ! I picked up so many tips and dos and fonts right down to adding a little water to your bleach mixture to keep it from swelling! I’ve been in thi biz for over 3 decades and I’m thrilled to learn new patterns and ideas! God Bless you- oh yeah - HE already has!!!!
I love your videos... Genius!!! .... I’m going to use one of a few of your techniques for my granddaughter tomorrow... She’s 17, so, I’ll let you know... Thanks for all of your amazing videos.. It’s truly appreciated! 😘..
Seriously Kristi I feel like you and other stylists would really benefit if you took just like a tiny bit of time every few months to go into education? You seem like a natural teacher
Thank you! That means so much! I kind of have thought about this but I feel like it's hard.... I'd potentially be teaching the same info I give away on here for free so then I'd either have to give less info here to be fair to those who pay for if or do less RUclips videos. It's a hard balance to figure out.
This is gorgeous!! You’ve explained everything so well I’m hooked on your channel! I do have a question, I’m doing my hair today or tomorrow but I’m using shades eq for a toner I’m looking for a nice bright (not platinum )blonde any recommendations I have 9p, 9nb, 9n, 9gb . I was going to tap the root with a 6n . ❤️❤️
Hello! Thank you so much! I appreciate such nice feedback! I don't really use shades so I'm not sure what would be a good suggestion.... I know ive used 9p/9t with clear for a really pretty cool blonde. Ive heard lots of gi so maybe adding a tiny amount for brightness. I think your formulation ideas sound great. Good luck! Also, pretty little ombre on Instagram uses shades, so maybe following her for formulations would be good
I would just be sure to tip out the ends early enough to where that doesn't happen. However in the chance it does, when you bank comb your tip out section, make sure your not grabbing hair that has multiple foil packets in between. That way you can just pull it out without breaking up the ends. Also, if you are truly just painting the ends, you can usually push the hair over, or lift it up a little to pull the foils out without messing up the painted ends. Just towel off the color/ bleach from the foils and it should dry out and stop processing
Thank you SO much for this video! It's been a life saver for me. My clients are thrilled with their final results. You're so talented, I appreciate you sharing all of your knowledge.
Isn't that funny! I often think that about clients.... why can't all clients back comb like this.... comb out like this.... style like this lol the list goes on!
I was going to say that root shadow adds more time 😔 when you work on a salon you’re expected to perform at a certain speed ...i do love root shadows. It’s even relaxing as well
Yes I agree , but for someone not comfortable doing balayage yet, doing a foil then rooting it helps create that look. I try not to do a shadow of I don’t have to cause your right... the timing!
Hi, thanks so much for all your kindness to explain all the processus. I didn't undenstand just how to add a water in blond. Can you write in two words please ? ❤ Thanks 😊
Amazing work. New subscriber here. ☺️. Quick question. If someone is a natural level 4. How would you. Go about blending those highlights without darkening them too much? On this girl you used a 7 at root to blend with her natural. I can’t imaging using that same concept right??
Hello and thank you for subscribing! Here's a video on blending dark hair. It really depends on the look they want. If they're trying to tone down the roots with a shadow and not be super blonde, I'd do this ⬇️⬇️⬇️ ruclips.net/video/5l4eY79utCA/видео.html If they want to be super blonde but have blended roots, I'd more back comb the roots but not shadow like this ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Yes! Sometimes I feel it's best to tone first, then whatever is still too brassy and doesn't tone down, I can swipe the shadow root color thru the brassy strands to tone down the warmth. Thank you for watching !
So beautiful!! I have a question... When you do the root shadow, do you condition the hair after you shampoo the lightener out? Whenever I do root shadows I always have a tough time combing through non-conditioned hair, but conditioning makes the demi color harder to penetrate the hair....yes or no?
Hello, thank you for your question! So when I do a root shadow, I typically always put just a treatment on the ends of the hair, mostly olaplex. That way it helps strengthen the hair and also acts as a barrier incase any of the root color touches where I don't directly want it. I usually always comb my shadows all the way thru the ends so it blends well, and it doesn't deposit too strong because of the barrier. Just softly

Do you do the same technique when she comes back again without taking all blonde through? X
Yes, not running thru the ends tho just blending
What bleach and toners did you use
I used schwarzkopf BlondeMe with 20 vol and toners are mentioned around 20 minute mark
How long do you process your root shadow?
Usually about 25 minutes
