    Excellent operator on many kinds of heavy equipment. He uses logic on every move. Certainly good at his job. I was also a heavy equipment operator back in the day. I especially like the grappl,e on the. Excavator and the bucket that turns completely and tilts left or right . Great!!

    I am enjoying your video programs and I am amazed at how you seem to become one with your equipment to get the most effort into each job. I do not like watching TV, as I am not into all of the Fabricated News, Half Truths and outright lies to say nothing about the strife that is taking place in our country... Your programs offer me a avenue to avoid all the bad programing and at the same time give me a source for enjoyable programing.. Thank you for the video's, keep ;up the good work and always be safe....

    What does a job like this cost? Not counting bad weather, how long did you think this was going to take? I mean, you've got three (Dozer, track hoe, and haul truck) large equipment, so what do you think your operating cost are per hour? For each piece? How many hours was this job? How do you charge for transport?

    • @littlefinkle7757
      @littlefinkle7757 4 года назад

      Generally speaking, you should charge enough to be profitable, and each person has different cost, so each would be different in price. Every business owner has to find his/her own niche and always plan for business growth and the cost of not only maintaining equipment but replacing equipment.

    So if you were to grab one of those stumps (perhaps a softer wood) between the bucket and the thumb (where the tines? teeth? could dig into the grain) Could you split the stump? Does the bucket/thumb combo have enough force? I know it's not an efficient use of time nor good stress on the machine. It was a random thought I had watching you toss stumps around.

    • @jamesrobinson1022

    • @letsdig18
      @letsdig18  4 года назад +3

      no cost about 4x more

    • @matthewanderson2373
      @matthewanderson2373 4 года назад

      Well, burning is free after paying for how you ignite it and then using the machine for 10-15 mins every 2-3 hours to put more onto the pile. Since he doesnt own a grinder, he would have to hire someone or rent a machine of some sort, then take hours or even days of time doing stumps on top of hours or days clearing the land.

    • @paulstoneburner3075
      @paulstoneburner3075 4 года назад +1

      Tub grinders around here cost $900-$1000/hour of operation and then you must still dispose of the residue. Not very cost effective where burning is an option.

    Volvo has been good to you on these machines. Poor mans cat is what I called them. Same color and parts for most part but a bit cheaper to replace. Just in parts alone that wear out or "burn" out, you should be on your way to making the decorative things that go round and round. Curious if you worked on the 911 job in new york as you sort through stuff like you're looking for a silk hanky. Such good hand to eye that if they told you to use a spade or shovel to dig something up, you would hope on a big excavator and pick that shovel up ever so gentle and take a spade full and throw it on the fire along with the spade/LOL. I don't take to man u all la boooring either. Your better than most and still got a ways to go to get your golden excavator award god hands out so take your time getting that one. Good work with good equipment.... following the ol' boy on the 955 must a made you a bit humble. We all start somewhere or just wind up on it and then suicide is a option, mind you not a good one. Man can always get off that mad dog 20 20 and find a good job counting faces at walmart
